  1. They compliment each other, and both are useful and important.

The way I see it, is if your philosophy doesn't encompass spirituality, then your philosophy is missing part of life.

If your spirituality doesn't encompass philosophy then your spiritual people don't know how to communicate what they know in a way that makes sense.

    So complementary, indeed.

  2. Well, mikaelz - what did Buddha recommend ? :-)

Fasting once a week is a great idea.

But the other 6 days should be also considered.

Otherwise it won't be the Middle Way :-)

I don't think longterm fasting is healthy. Certainly not for everyone (aka me), that's for sure.

Ask yourself this, could your "Addiction to food" be natures way of saying "FREAKIN EAT YOU #$%^" :P

Sometimes I think people over-think all this healthy type stuff. And I'm speaking from my own experience with fasting, etc, so don't shoot me :P

    All the Best,

  3. Me: "Hey baby, I'm not allowed to use any techniques to pick you up. (I'm Taoist, we don't do that) So Uhh, How's it goin? ... Great, so are you feeling yourself drawn to me like a bee to honey, as if some mysterious force has overcome you with my overwhelming sense of natural wu-wei presence?"

She says: "actually, now that you mention it, YEAH"

Me: "That's just how we roll baby" B)

  4. Philosophy VS Spirituality.

Please, discuss. I had a friend point out to me that, spirituality is bogus and that philosophy and logic was the way... I am not sure how accurate that is, but would love to hear your guys opinions. Thank You!

Philosophy is oigus because it's all based on a bunch of yapping.

Spirituality either is real or not, but can be found out for yourself by EXPERIENCE, which is much different than yapping.

You don't need logic to know what exists. You just look and experience it.

You don't need logic when someone hands you an orange, you just eat it.

When the logic starts coming in, then you know you're talking about stuff that doesn't matter.

  5. Paul,

I agree with the self-focusedness of it all. But I personally can't call it total bs. The metaphysical laws or whatever you call them are still useful to know that they exist. To know that mind affects reality is a huge thing. Unfortunately none of those new age systems is a complete or correct system, but I can't throw my personal experience down the drain. To me there is great value in knowing there is a Force that has things sorta under control and has my back :)

  6. I mean the stuff they are pushing down into our throats, is it mostly propaganda, or is it more than that? Also do you think that the person made this documentary, is stealing the ancient teachings?

Which documentary? You mean the movie , The Secret?...

The Secret the movie is imho not fully 100% accurate. Anyone who says you can be do or have anything, is full of shit imho.

That said, like the Buddha himself said, life comes from what you think.

There is a connection with the mind aspect of you, and the things that come into your life.

There is even an equation Intent/Desire + Emotional Intensity or Energy = Manifestation

However, all of these teachings I see operate in a ego-driven manner. Which we know is not the deepest truth. So the teachings don't always work... for many reasons I don't have enough time to theorize upon.

There are limits. You are highly unlikely to grow a third arm. But some of these people will say you can. I have however seen some pretty WILD synchronicities that when I think about statistically they just couldn't have happened by chance.

The most important thing to know about LoA is that it happens without you knowing it. It is like karma, always just happening no matter what. It is more like the law of matching, than law of attraction. It is like the law of God's grace.

The highest vibration of Abundance is willingly giving giving and giving some more. That's how it must be! If you can give and give and give without end, then surely you must be overflowing!

    Peace.

  7. Hey agharta,

What do you feel about fermented meats? I'd like to try that. Maybe some thinly sliced fermented beef pieces.

Also, what do you think of Sally Fallon's work? And Weston A. Price?

  8. Hi everyone,

I am wondering about Taoist alchemy methods. I've been practicing chi-kung since 2001, and now I'm learning about Taoist Alchemy methods. I am interested in pursuing them, especially transmuting jing to chi (sperm)... However I hear a lot about the potential danger in this. So I would like to discuss potential pitfalls.

Are there any methods that are known to be safe?

Who of you have been doing sexual retention and internal alchemy for ohhhh at least 6 months, preferably a year, or more preferably 10 years? :)

Is anyone who has been doing this for years having the doctor check their prostate health etc?

I have the book Taoist Yoga from the library, and would like to know if anyone out there is using these methods?

Are there any methods to do these practices while still staying sexually active?

Ok, enough questions for now :)

    All the Best,

    Alex

  9. I always like taking advice from people who have actually used it successfully themselves.

So far, I think the keys to manifestation are:

    1) Holography/Feng Shui: As inside, so outside... Change yourself within, and it will manifest externally as well.

    2) Being: "You don't attract what you want, you attract what you are." - Wayne Dyer

    3) Having, Not Wanting: Wanting and grasping only imply that you lack what you want. Which will then be what you manifest - lacking what you want, lol. Instead, feel the vibration of having - with just a matter of time "catching up" to that.

    4) Receiving: Be open to receiving it. We often have difficulty receiving things that we don't even realize. Can you properly receive a compliment? If not, then how will you receive anything else good in life?

    Hey vortex,

I would like to add to the list some things that seem right from my research and developments :)

    5) It has to be Win-Win, anything that isn't a win for all parties involved eventually falls apart as it has no inner stability. The best things, then, are things that are a win for all.

    6) It has to be in harmony with your HIGHEST intents. So imagine there is a order of importance. The things that are REALLY most important, deep in your heart will always override anything else.

    7) On the highest level, desiring ANYTHING always has a tinge of lacking what you want, and hence the whole LoA-desire paradigm is thrown for a loop, and then you end up with non-desiring being the highest form of desiring. Amazing! So then you learn to desire without desiring.

7b) "I desire little, and that little I desire, I desire it little"

    :D

  10. This is a very interesting practice. There are a lot of steps to the complete system of 9 Palaces Qigong. Lots of little things to remember. Also, the exercises are different than most of the qigong I have seen.

Has anyone practiced this for any length of time? I wonder what your results are...

There is a lot of esoteric stuff and also some magical aspects to the forms. Like how to win money gambling and how to connect with the time of your birth. Like doing exactly 9 and then 6 rotations is a special number to connect with the sun, eh too much to explain.

I'll have to practice it daily for sayyyy a month and get a feel for where it's taking me, and then I'll get back to you all with details.
