Have you seen this?

haven't had time to read through the whole thread yet, maybe tomorrow. the bottom line for me is I normally don't get sick even in close proximity to sick people but stick me with a flu shot and I'll be laid out in bed for a week. now I tell the military I'm allergic to eggs so they don't stick me
sooner or later their gonna want to stick me with other vaccines to keep me "up to date" though, so ill have to cross that road when i get to it
Â
I'll tell you one thing though, the first person to come near me with a needle full of h1n1 or anthrax will get a trip to the ER for their troubles
-
very interesting practice. i must admit it feels a little strange trying to generate emotion in my toes
are you supposed to keep track of your breath while going through the five emotions or just at the beginning?
trying to vividly recall a sensation/situation while still keeping count seems quit cumbersome.

edit: I just couldn't resist

so would half/full lotus be acceptable? I usually sit full lotus for around 40 min anyway and i'm much more comfortable in half lotus than plain indian style.

Hi Santiago,
A few questions concerning "The Kundalini Awakening Breathing Instructions":
Â
1) What is the fudosai posture? Do you have a picture? (Google has nothing on it)
Â
2) For the hand mudra, are the fingers interlaced (like looking at 10 fingers in a row, the tips of each finger in the cracks between the fingers of the other hand) or are the fingers of each pressed together and each hand is just resting on top of each other? If they are interlaced, which index finger is on top, the right hand's index finger or the left?
Â
3) Does the tip of the tongue go where the gum begins (so the tip of the tongue is touching the teeth and the gums), or does it rest further up in the front corner of the palate where the roots of the front teeth meet the palate. (When I put my tongue there my whole nose becomes numb).
Â
Thanks.
TI
Â
ditto I'm not familiar with this posture either.
anybody out there in bumland willing to clarify?
thanks in advance

How Do You Control Your Emotions?
Â
Â
Emotion is an effect, not a cause. I took a step back and watched my thoughts and emotions. After a while I began to realize how many of my negative emotions were caused by imperfect perceptions. Then I took a deeper look at those perceptions and once those were corrected, there was no need for those emotions any more. Now it is nearly impossible to anger or offend me because from where I'm standing, you just don't have that much power.

i heard about david on the radio the other day but they said his hands were tied behind his back. did anybody else hear this too?
-
yep thats kind of a funny story. i bought them but before i got a chance to really try them out, i got sent to afghanistan where i had LOTS of money to burn so i just bought another set. so now i have two sets sitting in my training room =P
Â
I thought they were pretty interesting but i've tried so many things they kind of got lost in the mix. my current practice takes up plenty of time and i usually have so little time to begin with that i usually dont even try playing with some of my older toys.
Â
given what i understand about zhan zhuang where it applies here; i suspect that if your ready for them and you use them properly, they should be really helpful in more than a few ways.
-
I tried that course back when i was stationed in okinawa and had some money to burn. I was pretty surprised actually. It was (until then) the strongest sensation of qi i had ever felt. I still have the magnets and occasionally use them for zhan zhuang if i cant go outside. (i live on the second floor).

If that is the "only argument" you've heard it is because you haven't read/listened to the research done on the matter. As mentioned before, most of those who are now so bothered by the 9/11 unTruth movement are that way because when we initially heard the claims made by the movement we were suspicious of the government and decided to look futher. We looked at the claims made by Loose Change and the rest, then looked at the NON-GOVERNMENTAL research by scientists, engineers, and the like, as well as skeptics, and other non-specific researchers. In the end, all that the 9/11 "truthers" do is point at supposedly unexplained phenomena (most if not all of which has been thouroughly explained many times with physics, experiments and outright historical examples) and say "see, the official story is wrong", without doing any research themselves. This is exactly like the Creationists who claim that Evolution is made up because they don't understand how "x" happened, or the way Holocaust and moon-landing deniers claim those to historical facts didn't happen because something about them doesn't make sense to them.
Â
The most common thing for 9/11 "truth" promoters to do (and you can look at any site where these claims are being "debated" for the pattern) is to make a claim, then when someone provides evidence that it is false, they simply say "you are just buying the governments false flag lie!" and repeat the same or a similar piece of crap accusation. They then wash, rinse and repeat until the person attempting to use logic and science to prove a point gets tired of trying (because all attempts are ignored) and leaves the discussion. At this point the 9/11 "truth"er claims victory, not because they have proven any point with evidence, but because they have driven away their opponent by shear annoyance.
Â
As pointed out here: http://www.debunking911.com/conspiracy.htm the worst crime committed by conspiracy nuts is that it detracts from the real conspiracies in our world and makes it all the more difficult to get anyone to listen when our civil liberties are being stolen, or when torture is being committed by our own country or any of the numerous real threats to our world.
Â
Â
thats an interesting site but it does seem to have quite a bit of mis-information. they actually try to say silverstien never gave the order to demolish WTC7 by taking the word 'pull' completely out of the context in which it was used. i guess they're relying on people having not actually watched the video.
Â
In any case we seem to have followed very similar paths to completely different conclusions. I once believed there was no way the government would do something like this but those pesky facts kept getting in the way. I also stand in the same place as you on the opposite side of the debate. The 'facts' and 'hard science' you link to looks like propaganda, misinformation and bunk science to me but i'm still fine with you posting it. It's fine with me if you want to believe something different than me or any one else. It's just really bad form to demand someone else shut up just because they dont believe the same as you. thats really the only reason i let myself get pulled into this debate again.
Â
Zensunni Wanderer
your argument basically boils down to 'you dont have all the answers so you must be wrong.'
it just doesn't work that way. truthers dont claim to have all the answers; they just want the truth.
how do you think a christian would react if you said 'you dont know what happened to jesus during those missing years so your god doesnt exist'? does that argument even make sense? you cant logically interject your own version of 'truth' irregardless of any facts just because all the answers arent known. thats not to say people dont try all the time, its just a fallacy of logic.
-
You are absolutely right, that the conspiracy stories are not about truth. Though you are wasting your time and will likely give yourself carpal tunnel before convincing any of our fellow bums who have bought the 9/11 (pseudo)Truth movements crap. They have decided the story they want to believe and are not willing to look at the independant investigations that look at actual evidence (it does make for an interesting study though, the 9/11 "truth" groups use the exact same tactics and evidence ignoring as the "intelligent" design movement and other Creationist groups). They will continue to regurgitate the same discredited claims (like the ones noted in this very thread) and refuse to look at anything that disagrees with them. They will continue to claim that anyone who does take the time to examine all of it without agreeing with them is a "slave to the government" or "brainwashed" despite the fact that those who don't buy in to the nonsense are most often more concerned with the real dangers in todays governmental policies.
Anyway, good to hear another voice of reason, but, again, you really shouldn't bother. You will only find yourself frustrated by the delusions that are pushed by the conspiracy nut front.
Â
well your half right. I do see a group of people ignoring anything that disagrees with what they've already decided. they're also trying to shut up anyone who actually wants to look at the facts. the only argument i've EVER heard is 'this was already debunked' sometimes followed up with a link to some debunking site filled with bad science, no science or pure prooganda that has already been disproved by common sense, hard facts and actual science. Funny how the 'truthers' never try to shut any one up for disagreeing...
-
This is not about actually looking for truth. This is about people wanting so desperately to find a 9/11 conspiracy that they've been crazily latching onto bad science and worse reasoning for the past 8 years. I find it distasteful for its own sake, but beyond that all these Alex Jones wannabes have been instrumental in making sure that legitimate questions about the Bush administrations use of 9/11 were easy to write off as just more paranoid ranting. Loose change was a fantasy, the makers got their asses handed to them when they debated real scientists, and you don't need explosives to bring down a building if YOU FLY A FUCKING PLANE INTO IT. Are you people completely out to lunch?
Â
actually you do need explosives. there are several instances of planes crashing into other buildings of similar age
and make causing more damage and hotter flames that burned for much longer but those buildings still stand. In fact 911 is supposedly the first instance in the history of steel structures of any building collapsing from this kind of damage. It would be much easier to believe if the building had been made of cardboard but alas, no such luck.
Â
The official stories of how the buildings managed to fall perfectly straight down into there own shadows is the epitome of bad science. This also leaves out thermate, squibs, and pools of molten metal thousands of degrees hotter than jet fuel burns found weeks after the explosions. Plus even though the government still claims it was structural fires, silverstein (who owned the building) admitted on national television that WTC7 was a demolition.
BTW he still got paid the insurance on it as a terrorist act

I think these people are deluded, but regardless this stuff absolutely does not belong in taoist discussion forum. It should have been put in the off-topic section.
Â
I fail to see how this thread relates to any of the following: qigong, neigong, religious daoism, chinese history, asian history, chinese martial arts etc. If it doesn't relate to any of those topics why would it be appropriate for this forum? It belongs in the off-topic section and that's not too hard to figure out.
Â
Maybe the author of this thread believes that lawnmowers or automatic sprinklers are part of a government conspiracy. Should they also talk about that in this forum? Maybe the author is a keynesian, a free trader, an economic nationalist, or someone who is lukewarm about the world trade organization. Should they start a thread about that? And what's their favorite sports team? Why don't they talk about that as well? Another possibility is we could have thread talking about the US presidential election in 2012. why not discuss that?
Â
Â
A quick search of the forum reveals topics about zeitgeist (a very political movie), a short youtube clip about being a slave of the government, a thread asking what people think about fuzzyfandom (wtf?), Chinese vegetarian cooking, a thread about a really old bible (codex gigus) and other topics that have nothing to do with the subjects you've just listed. But those are open to discussion with no hostility. You dont want this moved because its off topic you want it moved because it posits an idea your uncomfortable with.
Â
I dont think you would like someone trying to stop you from speaking just because they disagreed with you so why do you do it to other people? Aren't you smart enough to discuss ideas or argue points? Or if you just cant be bothered to put forth that much effort why not just ignore it? why do you have to go so far as to censor someone when they say something you dont like? As contrivedname said, what doesn't pertain to the dao?
-
You know, you people just don't know when to stfu do you? Some retarded studies by people that want there to be a conspiracy, OMG, show just that! Forget about the fact that any other researcher finds contrary evidence, you just love to take the bullshit and run with it. And every time, you just twist the knife in the side of people who lost loved ones that horrific day. But fuck them right, its all about your goddam conspiracy.
Â
Â
yeah not to pick a fight but one of the very FIRST and LARGEST 911 truth groups to call for an independent investigation was actually a coalition of 911 victim's family members. To imply that the very people who started asking questions are somehow hurt by other people asking the same questions amounts to a retarded emotional ploy with no factual backing.
Â
I understand that lots of people want to deny things they find painful. Hell I've talked to people who swear the holocaust never happened. Personally I think both tragedies are pretty obvious but I'm not gonna bash, belittle or otherwise insult you any more than I would them.
Â
If your that emotionally hell-bent on bashing people just because they dont believe what you do then maybe you should do some serious soul-searching. A little quiet contemplation never hurt anybody right?

You can feel the Chi in your dan tiens after even a short period of serious cultivation. Why would someone who does real cultivation be inclined to think that Dan Tiens don't exist?
Is that indicative of the lack of proper training on their part or is it that the majority of practitioners who actually work with Dan tiens actively all the time delusional?
Â
****** So here's my disclaimer. While writing this it occurred to me that this particular post may actually step on a lot of people's toes. I don't intend to hurt anyone's feelings or start any arguments. This is just what I have been taught and it has borne itself out in my own experience. That being said, I'm probably not gonna feel too bad about it either so if anyone wants to lob a grenade my way I wont take it personally
******
Â
I have been taught that the answer is both. It has to be created. Most people who think they have a dantien are just delusional. The place where it would be is a 'junction' of sorts and its not hard to get sensation there. Hell it usually feels like a pretty solid lump there anytime I concentrate on the area. Sometimes it even burns but that doesn't mean I have a DanTien. Saying everybody has a DT is like saying everybody has Yang Shen or Golden Dragon Body or Kundalini or whatever else.
Â
The DT is not some magic source of infinite energy that your born with, it's a specific achievement/stage in specific schools. The term seems to get thrown around A LOT though and it seems that other schools/methods have appropriated the name to refer to phenomena that may seem similar but is in reality completely different. (i.e. 'i feel energy collecting below my naval and it feels solid and full. yay! I have filled my DT
')
Â
The bottom line is that sensation IS NOT achievement. Sensation is sensation. People can make all kinds of claims and even sincerely believe themselves because of vivid experiences but that doesn't make it real. Creating the DT is a big deal. Your not just gonna do two or three weeks of meditation and '!poof!' you have a full DT.

When is the last time you spoke with a Mopai practitioner or actually met one?
Â
I was just with one about 3 weeks ago. And I have friends that are former Mopai one is actually training with me now long distance this is why I can verify my experiences.
Â
Some folks have said my chi is either Hot or Electric. Some folks have actually been shocked by it. I do not "try" I simply pump the juice out. It comes out as the Universe wants it to come out.
Â
Many of my students have now better health and some even look younger, Some of my female students now have bigger breasts some male students ahve also reported more "girth" (This is always a +) and families are doing better. This to me is what matters.
Â
Can it Cure things? Can it make people better ? This is What I look for.
Â
I have made people Nauseas using it in Martial Contexts and I have also made people Ill, this is a side effect and not always welcomed karmically.
Â
My main priority with all this stuff is to help others be better and harmonious with God, Nature & society.
Â
Mopai isn't exactly that.
Â
It's for hermits. Its dangerous due to the fact that
1) things are NOT explained.
2) there is very little "Saftey" in the system.
Â
This is why many had heart attacks and got sick.
Â
As for CHI:
Â
Glenn's Chi was very Electric & watery. It also made things manifest. And in some cases gave you addictive laughter or Bliss.
Â
Pak Muhammad definitely Burns or Shocks you & makes you want to get closer to God.
Â
My Chi tends to be HOT or Electric for people. Some report it makes their energy Spiral, some say I appear to them in dreams and in present time, Some say it has shocked them. They usually say this about Pak, Glenn & Myself. I just pump the juice out.
Â
I let it do what the Universe/Shakti wants.
Â
Peace
Â
Santi
Â
cool
no big deal I was just curious
my understanding is still limited so I have to ask
-
A lot of this is in KAP & In Ilmu Kebatinan training.
Â
Infact after dealing with a few Mopai folks I can tell you for sure Kap& Tenaga training is safer and yet same effects.
Â
Mopai is similar to our KAP tummo training , 5 gate breath work & Pak Muhammad's Juru Training
Â
we both work in KAP & Tenaga Dalam to fill the 1st & 2nd dan tien. This is taught in our tummo.
Â
With out proper rooting or secret smile you are asking to hurt yourself with Mopai stuff.
Â
Peace
Â
santi
Â
just curious, do you have electric-like qi, pyrokinesis, and other abilities of pak john or you just mean same effect for filling dan tien?
I wouldn't say 'same' effect though. I hear mo-pai can take a year or more to fill dantien so much shorter time-line
-
I finally watched it. It is definitely nicely done. However, everything is presented as if it were the definite answer and the clear and undeniable truth. I'm not so sure about that.
For example in the movie they claim that the Fed is not owned by the state, but by a group of banks, some of them even being of foreign origin. I cannot believe this. Is there anyone here who has good knowledge on this? In Germany the central bank for sure is owned by the state. I believe that this is the same in all European countries and cannot imagine it to be different in the US.
Â
It is also claimed that there is no legal basis for paying income tax. Even two former IRS employees are quoted who say that they don't know of any law regarding taxes. This seems very unbelievable, too. Any tax experts?
Â
Â
I just saw a news clip the other day where the head of the fed (can't remember his name right now) was being questioned about the bailout and he said in no uncertain terms that since they were a private entity, completely separate from the gov't, no one in gov't had the authority to question or override their decisions regarding bailout money. basically, "we're above the law so quit bothering us."
Â
as for taxes, those books by Otto Skinner will tell you everything you could possibly want to know about taxes straight from the mouth of the supreme court and they're very straight forward and easy to understand too.
Â
thunder mind, very interesting post. where did you learn all this? are you able to reproduce his methods?
-
I've been active security forces (the closest thing the chair force will probably ever have to a grunt) for 6+ years and now im in the guard to pay for school. No contradiction or conflict there. There were a number of prominent Daoist generals and warlords in the past and if you read kosta's books (not that i consider them wholly trustworthy sources of information) theres a story in there about a master who went around killing warlords and wot not. The whole pacifist thing is totally over rated.
Â
violence can be just as useful as peace if it's used properly. the trick is knowing when to use which and why.
Â
im with wayfarer on this one. Buddhism and Daoism are very different in some ways. An easily
relevant difference might be that if you attacked a Buddhist (not counting shaolin here) he might very
well take the beating but if you tried that with a Daoist he might just stomp a hole in you so you remember not
to attack strangers.
Â
granted, i assume it's much easier to see whether its better to evade one attacker or beat another
when one is close to dharma/dao/truth/realization/whatever...
Â
If your out in the middle of nowhere (read pick-a-stan) or anywhere else really I would say try to avoid
being in a situation where it's necessary to hurt other people but, if it comes down to you or them, send flowers.
Â
this is just my view though, and im still learning so try not to take it too seriously.
-
just some parts of the video. the graveyard standing was interesting but I wont be trying it anytime soon. I've had enough trouble with spirits without chasing them down
-
I dont suppose anyone cashed the video? i clicked on the link but its been removed
Â
Edit: never mind I found it
Not the same WLP

I think I saw somewhere on that forum what food and techniques are used by Roman but it was through google translator and I could not get better understanding of it.
Â
Thanks for links goldisheavy.

Â
I remember someone translated most of the video on another forum some time ago. I cant remember all the details
and I'm way to lazy to try finding it somewhere out there in cyberspace but heres the gist of it.
Â
the source of the burning is a spirit which is summoned by via the mantra.
he controls it with a kind of visualization
he said for martial application, he can burn any target regardless of distance so long as he
can hold a vivid mental image so he usually requires a picture.
the tech really wears him out but he stresses that the power isn't his and doesn't use his own energy
it used to be only taught within a certain family but he was taught in return for doing some good deed for the family
(i think he saved the sons life or something)
he says the tech is relatively easy to learn since it's not your own power but that in the beginning is does require
a vegetarian diet. (later you can eat meat again)
thats all i can remember off the top of my head, hope it helps
and yes, i think he's legit

back when evolution was first getting big, they didn't have any way to explain the existence of certain species. When this occurred, scientists would sometimes propose that they must have come from some now long gone island/continent which they would name after whatever creature they were trying to explain. In this case it was the ring tailed lemur which some guy proposed must have come from "lemuria." These critters have since then been explained and other than some guy making up a hypothetical island there was never any actual evidence to support or even point to the possibility of there being such a place as "lemuria."
Â
but apparently ramtha came from this island even though it was admittedly made up so it must be real

Swine Flu May Cause 90,000 U.S. Deaths, Report Says
in General Discussion
Posted
google is your friend.
1) baxter (the vaccine manufacturer) is an entirely corrupt company which knowingly sells deadly products (heparin for instance).
2)there have been several surveys taken around the world in which more than half the doctors in these countries (i remember hong kong and england for sure) stated they would refuse the vaccine for fear of the products safety.
3)it has not even been properly tested yet the us gov is actually trying make the vaccine mandatory.
4)even if there were an outbreak of "swine flu", h1n1 is far less potent than standard rhino flu.
