  2. Wang Liping Videos

I recently had dinner with a very nice Italian women here in Beijing who is fluent in Chinese and has the goal of translating Taoist texts into Italian. She may be interested I'll see. She's in Italy now will take a week or so. If she is interested, I'll ask her to respond in this thread.
  3. Kunlun in Austin

Very nice I won't post anymore but will check my pm's from time to time if you want to let me know how you are doing.
  4. The Way of War

I am not sure how historically accurate this is and it is purely from meomory. I read it ages ago somewhere. That Shakyamuni Buddha himself said something along the lines that even he couldn't purify the warlike karma of the Shakya clan. Shakyamuni Buddha was quite a high level person as you know. So if even his attainment couldn't stop his own family from warring how much less would our puny accomplishments? Karma is karma.
  5. Oneness

"All things, material and spiritual, originate from one source and are related as if they were one family. The past, present, and future are all contained in the life force. The universe emerged and developed from one source, and we evolved through the optimal process of unification and harmonization." Morihei Ueshiba
  6. Sickening feeling from too much larger reality

I'll never forget calling my teacher in Hawaii from the mainland in a panicked state after not sleeping for weeks and asking "So you should just be where you are!?" "Yes, just be where you are." He replied calmly. Hiking/being in nature was very helpful to me. Good luck and take care.
  7. Free will

The way I look at this now is that life may have a more interesting plan for me then this thing called "my will". To give you an example, I had no goal to ever move to Korea. But I lived there for 2 1/2 years and had a great time. Also, as much as I am enjoying my life in China, it wasn't ever a goal of mine to live in China. It's just how things have unfolded for me. Sometimes people ask me what will I do AFTER China. Please, I stopped living my life that way a long time ago That said, I still think it's great to have goals and reach them!

  11. Who are the top people out there?

In any case, people are drawn to what they are drawn to. If a teacher interests you alot, try to check them out! If Vmarco's posts don't interest you, put her on ignore. If my posts don't interest you, put me on ignore. There is nothing to debate. I certainly have no interest in debating here. To simplify what I THINK Vmarco might be trying to say. Adyashanti said "Reality is what is real even when you don't believe in it". Is truth some figment of our imagination? A spectacular idea to be cherished and held on to tightly? Truth is truth.
  12. Haiku Chain

ATM fragrance the Universe guides me yet again where is there time to think?
  13. Who are the top people out there?

Doh! Vmarco is a woman? And I was sitting here imagining Vmarco was a dude! Thanks for the teaching
  14. Who are the top people out there?

I presume Vmarco has good intentions, but my feeling reading his posts is something like "you should move into a non conceptual state free of clinging, now I will discourse extensively about things directing you into a clinging, conceptual state." He may very well be awakened, I don't have a clue. But there is a world of difference between someone who is awakened and someone who can help others get awakening. In general, my experience is that even some high level people may not have come to terms with the fact that they aren't teachers. Not everyone can be Buddha or Dogen. Here is my advice, find a teacher you feel is awakened and that you genuinely respect, and just be quiet and follow there advice until your really, really awakened and really, really have something to say. Don't waste time speculating on who is or isn't high level, find out for yourself and practice!
  15. Who are the top people out there?

I think Vmarco has some interesting points. But perhaps his writing style makes for some misunderstanding(I think I get what he is trying to say) I know I praise him repeatedly, but I don't think that there is any modern teacher who points to the matter as elequently, simply and well..helpful to people actually "getting it" like Adyashanti. It's like some "spiritual people" use their knowledge to confuse you further and lead you down and endless road of not finding the truth in yourself. Adyashanti, and the awakened Zen Master I know in Korea do the opposite. Simple, compassionate, straight to the heart of the matter.
  16. After Yigong she does hands on lap. I don't practice any of the other stuff.
  17. Who are the top people out there?

Sifu Jenny was very clear when I met her that the goal of Yigong is non duality. Ramana is a modern teacher that is said to have "attained" that. She said her own teacher, who she learned Yigong from, has not yet attained it.
  18. Interestingly, the way Jenny teaches it you don't touch the tan tien area at all. Just rest your hands on your lap. I have been trying this way for awhile. I like it since I can really relax and go into more of a deep meditation after Kunlun/Yigong. I really enjoy standing but it's not my path right now. Pretty much just focus on Kunlun/Yigong and outdoor stuff/hiking.
  19. Who are the top people out there?

Ok Yeah, Max has told me too many wild stories to think of him in terms of being a saint lol. In modern times I would say Ramana Maharshi. I believe Kan San went to India and hung out at Ramana's mountain Aranchala. If he was still alive I would for sure try to go to India to see him.
  20. Who are the top people out there?

It's hard to take someone so seriously that says "I know it sucks but smile anyway". And "If you have serious intent in Kunlun, you won't accomplish anything". But to me it's this quality that is great.
  21. cold baths/showers

Anyone else do this? It's something I really got into Korea. Where anywhere you go you can go to a spa for like $10 soak in a jacuzzi then jump into an ice cold bath. I really enjoy the feeling of finishing my shower with as cold as water as possible too and have read it has health benefits. I just got back from Harbin where they have the polar bear club. Not man enough for that yet!
  22. cold baths/showers

Cool, I have been wussing out on my cold showers lately. Need to get on that!
  23. Who are the top people out there?

Saint, eh, Christian terminolgy. Max is said to be the reincarnation of a well known ancient Egyptian Master. I experienced enough with him to believe it.
  24. Who are the top people out there?

Also, I don't really think of him in those terms, but Adyashanti. A modern awakened teacher. Don't beleive me? Go to one of his satsangs and see for yourself.
  25. Who are the top people out there?

Hehe, yes but Max is such a cool person I don't even think of him in those terms anymore. He's like my eccentric Bodhisattva friend
