  1. Thanks a lot Sean and Bruce Kumar Frantzis! Kind of amazing that he took that much time to reply. Can't wait to read the interview.
  2. Redhat Tibetan Buddhism

Sigh... Lobsang Rampa was nothing other than a fraud, he was an English plumber who needed money so he made up a bunch of stories and sold them. The only value his books have are enteirtainment and possibly making people interested into actual Tibetan Buddhism. But if you'd rather remain blind instead of accepting someones "insightful" input then go right ahead, I've done my part.
  3. What is the best religion?

The Dalai Lama is very skillful indeed.
  4. Redhat Tibetan Buddhism

    This one is not.
  5. Dangers of atheistic thinking

Theists are responsible for the most wars and deaths in human history. So I suppose I could conclude that being an atheist can lead to dishonesty while being a theist can lead to being a murderer. Laughable.
  6. R.I.P Erle Montaigue

Wow... Years ago I had an interest in what he taught. He was just around 62 years old.
  7. That is just hilarious. You better hope Alwayson doesn't see this because he might just lose it.
  8. buddhist practice

I'm not sure if "detach" is right. To me it sounds pretty close to indifference, which I think is not where you really want to go.
  9. You know what's really heart-breaking?

"Must allow"? Hardly. If Buddhas could enlighten everyone they would've done so, but they're not omnipotent. So it's not about allowing or not allowing, it's about can or can't.
  10. Online Tibetan practice program

People say that a lot but usually it's one of the most laughable things one can say. Without a teacher you wouldn't even be able to wipe your own ass let alone converse with others on an internet forum.
  11. Online Tibetan practice program

Actually completion stage is one of two stages comprising HYT, not HYT itself. I re-read the program info and it seems this first section can be started at a later time too. Since my birthday is coming up maybe I'll go for it then.
  12. Online Tibetan practice program

Cool. Damn you man, you just had to tell me that didn't you. I really don't know since I just payed for the Shedra and still have to pay for DC membership, and right now I shouldn't make any payments for about 10 days or I'll go broke. Plus I'm not sure if it won't become too much, next to the shedra and college. I'll have to think about it, thanks.
  13. Online Tibetan practice program

Yes this is better if possible, but for some of us it isn't. And the current part of this program, the first cycle, is more sutric anyway.
  14. Online Tibetan practice program

8 year program hehe. Something like that I suppose, but the shedra is more varied (focus on Longchenpa texts, sutra study, etc.) while Dharmasun program is Tara terma. Remember that is just the first part. The Vajrayana part will come later and for that you'll need transmissions from the teacher. Maybe they'll give some over webcast, but there's likely to be some formal initiation and for that you need to go in person. Anyway it looks expensive to me too, but it also looks like a really good program.
  15. Online Tibetan practice program

It already started, but you can still register as I registered this Friday. Yeah, not much info, you have to email Karl and he'll forward you more information. You can find his email at the bottom of the page here.
  16. Online Tibetan practice program

Yeah it looks great. I probably would've done the first part too if I could afford it. To see the Vajrayana part that follows after this part look through "Skillful Grace" which is a book on this terma. I'll be doing Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche's Online Shedra Of Longchen Rabjam. Introduction to the Shedra Hopefully I'll able to attend the empowerments otherwise there won't be much point in doing it.
  17. Suppression of Energy Knowledge

LOL at believing anything Blavatsky said. She's nothing more than a rich man's Lobsang Rampa.
  18. The Highest Buddhist Consort Practice

  19. The Highest Buddhist Consort Practice

    Can you elaborate?
  20. The Highest Buddhist Consort Practice

Do you have a link to an article or is there some book where I could read a bit about this? Because I'm not really sure about what you're saying about Essence Mahamudra. You seem to have a negative opinion about consort practice?
  21. The Highest Buddhist Consort Practice

Hm, not that I disagree much with the sentiment (although I haven't observed what you say among Tibetan Buddhists online) but I think that according to some (or all Sarma schools?) it's not possible to achieve Buddhahod in ones lifetime without consort practice... As for Alwayson's comment, that's the most interesting thing I had ever saw him say. I never thought of it that way, it could be a kind of an inner meaning of the mantra haha. Who knew there'd be a gem like that in a competition in display of ignorance.
  22. Tibetan Yoga meditation methods revealed

Just a small correction, Mahamudra was also in India, while Dzogchen texts have indeed yet to be found outside of Tibetan language as far as I know (also it's origin is ascribed to Oddiyana not India). But in any case it's most likely pointless to discuss these and related things with someone who seems to have the Chinese blindfold over their eyes. His own imagination.
  23. The Third Eye

No problem, when I read the book years ago I wasn't aware of this either. It was pretty interesting reading at the time, read the book in no time, but since I learned more about Tibetan Buddhism I'm not sure if I could stomach it now hehe...
  24. The Third Eye

Just in case you don't know, this is all fiction. Lobsang Rampa was not real, just made up by some English dude who needed money so he wrote a bunch of books.
  25. Big Brother 1984 in U.S.

Wouldn't it be funny if someone reported to them that they saw something suspicous and that it was the behaviour of the US government?
