  1. Since it's the position of the fetus in the womb, it is naturally designed not to block energy anywhere -- a quick look at the meridians chart would confirm this too. What blocks energy is muscle tensions, chronically contracted fascia, and misaligned skeletal structures. Full lotus done correctly goes a long way toward correcting these, straightening out the spine and improving the flow of communication between the upper and lower parts of the body and between the body and the brain. What one might perceive as discomfort is actually "input" of perceptions that was not available before due to this communication being chronically disrupted.

Ok 'block' might not be the best choice of word but I think what Sifu Gary is saying (correct me if I'm wrong) is that it seals Yang from escaping into the earth as it has a tendency to run out of the legs. As a result the Yang then tends to stay higher in the body. The condition that is created by sitting in this posture also facilitates a better gathering of Yin. The posture as you know has many benefits besides all that and to make an important point, what happens energetically in that posture is also decided by the mediation/breathing/mudra your doing. In that posture your taint is as close to the earth and all five gates are pointing to heaven so of course Yang would naturally stay high.

I was told by a master of great attainment that meditation begins where comfort ends, and cultivation begins where pain starts. (Not the pain of a physiologically unsound position, of course, not the pain of damaging your body... the pain similar to that which you feel when your toes have been frozen numb and start thawing out when you get out of the cold and warmth begins to restore circulation. Having grown up in a notoriously cold country, I've often experienced this as a child...)

"Comfortable" is what you want to be at all other times, outside your meditation time, and meditation is your tool toward this goal. But a "comfortable meditation" is an oxymoron. Then again, it is very common in the West to say "meditation" when really meaning "relaxation."

Everything is mind so whatever gets your focus because as the great Qui-Gon Jinn said.. "Your focus determines your reality". FL is great but I agree with WBBM that it's not 'needed' or essential. The most simple is the most profound.

  2. I'm very interested in fitness, and gaining mass, but have hit a wall unfortunately. I am considering using HGH. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about the effects? Does it make you taller, or just contribute to muscle mass growth? Are there any negative risks? What are the financial costs? Health risks?

I realize there may not be a wealth of information on this board, but I remember hearing someone say something about HGH earlier this year, and was wondering if anyone has any more relevant information?

Mass? what for? You have hit a wall? what is your diet? post in full. This is a strange place to ask this kind of question! What are your goals? do you practice any martial arts?

  3. The Burning Palm healing energy is very strong/positive from my exp. I can project a very strong force and BP training has made it much stronger. I'm also a student of a few others too. When I project BP healing energy (what I have cultivated so far) the recipient can feel extreme heat. I have also tried to project ging with very strong effect. I've been able to move people, increase heart rate, heal and more. It's a beautiful journey of self discovery.

I would happily send someone healing for free. And I do not need free xxx, I get plenty of that. But whats wrong with a little more? lol. My friendly comment to Witch was a reminder of what happened when she tried to play with Max (who is also my Sifu and friend) without permission. Shang-ch'ing is not a lineage you want to play around with! lol, I went to meet Mak Jo Si (Mak Tin Si) who had an issue with Max too, shortly after we met he called me a Demon and asked his students to stay away lol. You see, what one projects is reflected back more then ten fold. He just saw himself ;).

Back to BP! It's an amazing system and Sifu Gary is a great guy IMO. In addition to the healing stuff my martial ability has increased a lot. I'm way more relaxed and when I strike you can hear the force audibly. My speed has increased and I can issue some pretty good power :). Peeps don't wanna spar any more.

It's also a spiritual system.. Martial, Healing, Spiritual, self discovery. Works with all the elemental forces. Glad to be a part of it.

  4. Wait, you do Kunlun too? Does everybody here do Kunlun?

Another question--do men in Australia just not wear socks?

And technically you are supposed to be resisting my attack, and then I come at you in your sleep (must figure out Australian timezones). Although I suppose depleting one's male energy is one way of resisting attack. :D

Witch didn't you learn from your experience with Max? I hope you are just toying with my Sifu (Gary) here? If you want a challenge direct your magick at me and see if you can take my sexual energy.

On another note... where can I get a copy of that sex tips documentary you were in?

  5. Hey guys,

    Rodge,

Hey bro, give me you're number. I owe you a phone call and I can clear up some things k bro.

Sent ya a PM dude :)

  6. Fear of what if's is the major motivation for me. I was atheist till 2005 when I had something like a kundalini awakening gone horribly wrong. I had been working with entraining gamma band brainwaves like monks I had read about in studies. I experienced my mind moving into and out of multiple layered realities simultaneously, and it was a horrific experience, that led me to believe that the mind will continue past death. That experience led me to believe that reincarnation was probable, and researching masters like John Chang, Wang Liping, and Chunyi Lin who all confirm their belief in reincarnation added to my suspicion that it might occur.

I don't know why or how I got here or if I have some purpose, but I feel pursuing methods to expand my consciousness, and spirit are my calling.

You are probably right that there is a lot I am ignoring that is worthwhile, but I there is simply too much information and most of it false, so I try to stick to systems that seem to get results you can verify.

I was probably wrong to consider using foodstamps, to help with my budget living on a small income, if I was capable of working more hours to support myself. It was a grey area morally for me anyway but it seemed like it might be a good idea.

Really physical existence in this life isn't so bad, I am doing better than most other people on earth. I just feel like the whole death/rebirth eventuality is unacceptable, I want to stop aging, and dying, and being reborn.

    Pie,

Do you have the level one Mo Pai training? I would assume you do. If you do, how long have you had it? I understand the desire to get the complete system but perhaps a lesson can be learned in realizing what you may already have and eating dinner before you get desert ;).

Have you achieved level one? There is a specific 'event' that takes place. It's not really that hard IMO and is so basic. Level 2 is also very basic stuff. The method is only a fraction of what is needed to get results. In order to achieve anything it is method + gong. If you focus your will single pointed at just that method, you will progress. I believe you are doing this with the LMP training? The Mo Pai level one needs one hour minimum a day. This is nothing.

The search for 'freedom' can be like trying to pay off a ton of debt. Perhaps that is why we are here? Who knows eh? You might have several credit cards and other loans. Trying to pay them all off at once is just not possible. Some people are fortunate enough to come into money (or meet a high level master willing to help you advance). Even then they may squander it!

If we really want to move forward in a situation like that we should focus on one 'card' at a time. Double the payments and let everything else wait. I think you can achieve the first few levels without dropping everything and going all retreat. There is also something to be said about living in society and managing to do this.

  7. Rene,

GMDW taught me a what he says a very old folk healing method using Ginger on certain points and ST36 was on of them, same in YKM but we use tui na, acupuncture and moxi. :)

    Sifu Garry

Interesting Sifu! I know there is a meditaion for health that is the same as FP Monk Holding a Pearl (except it's seated) and can be done using ginger also. GMDW says to ingest the ginger for 108 days while doing the med!

    Good Yang builder!

  8. Not to be obtuse, but having read this and other threads on the topic, I'm still not entirely clear on the purpose and benefits of stillness movement and gift of the tao chi qong (aside from healing others). Can anyone with experience chime in on the benefits/purpose of the two , stillness movement and gift of the tao? I've already bought Michael's book and am considering buying his DVD. thanks-

DT fills, energy gets denser and eventually rises up opening up energy centers in the body. In a Kundalini fashion pops out the crown and connects you to the source. Whats wrong with just practicing for good health and the ability to heal others anyway?

Your question is a bit like asking... what good is medicine? To me it is more then medical qi gong though. Gift of the Tao movements raise the vibration of the energy body. Cultivation is a path of self discovery to the true nature of yourself and the great Tao!

  9. I'm a student of Michael's and have been for some time. I've also trained under many teachers all over the world... Europe/Asia/North America. Masters such as Chan Sau Chung etc. I'm still a noob :) but I will say that Stillness movement is incredible. Because I have practiced and have many complete systems initially I was unsure if my strong reaction to the energy was because of the 'mix'. After more then a year I can say with confidence that Stillness movement builds immense energy and with dedicated practice you can fill the DT very quickly. Quicker then Mo Pai! lol... yes I can say that because I'm beyond level one MP :). Say no more! lol.

In reality if people read his book or see the DVD and don't like it then your loss. I have big respect/love for Micheal and his system.

  10. Just wanted to chime in and say I'm a student of Sifu Gary's. I think in terms of Sifus skill the videos speak for themselves. As far as how the course works I would say very well so far. Everything is explained and demonstrated well. If you are unsure about your form/posture etc you can easily hook up on skype or make a video for him to review.

Is it worth the money? yes every penny. As far as the results I've had I can tell you that the BP energy is very tangibly felt in the body. Especially the extremities. Really, there are different types of energy developed (healing, ging etc) and it is the combination of those that create the unique BP energy.

This is not an Iron Palm course. It is a complete system for healing, spiritual development and martial arts. It's not easy either. Expect to spend a few hours a day every day if you want to train it properly. Personally I feel that it's good to train all the energies to be well rounded. The martial ging really grounds the healing etc. Another great aspect of BP is it also develops the elemental forces such as earth, fire, water etc.

If your serious about training and want a complete system check it out!

  11. This morning I cried when I found out about this. As a farther myself I just can't begin to imagine the pain I really can't.

I felt it would be good to fast so I will this Tuesday. For Santiago and his family, for others that have suffered this and to raise awareness. Please fast with me if you like. So sorry for your loss Santi.

  12. A quick additional post from Kempomaster... I have continued to work stillness-movement as much as possible on a daily basis. Basically, whenever i realize I am not practicing stillness-movement I begin practicing stillness-movement. The system allows for practice all the time. Oftentime when i am working (Pharm rep) I am moved to do 20 - 30 minutes of stillness before i enter a doctors office. what is really cool is after i have done this i find that someone in the office needs a medical qigong treatment.

this brings up the common instances of synchronicity that occur with stillness-movement. Approx 2 months ago I had stopped in a local tennis shop to have a couple of racquets restrung. 1st I noticed the pretty young lady that waited on me (approx the age of my son 26+ or -) and I noticed she had a necklace with some egyptian script on it. next her 9 year old son walked around the corner and he had a huge bruise on his chin, very swollen, causing the chin to be turned slightly sideways. Of course, i told her that I practiced medical qigong and taoist neuro-energetic healing and offered to try to help take the swelling out of her son's chin. We all watched in amazement as the swelling decreased and the color of the bruise changed. I had some excellent Dit da jao with me and applied some of that as well. Mom and youngster were very appreciative, but, she then told me about a more serious problem that her son was having - ulcerative colitis, nausea, diarrhea etc and he was seeing several specialist at Riley Children's Hospital.. I suggested she research medical Qigong and let me know if she would like my help.

Well I didnt hear back from her and figured she had forgot about me. Until i was playing tennis this past Thursday and my strings in my racquet suddenly went dead. I figured i had a back-up racquet i could use, but, then my wifes strings in her racquet went dead. I wondered if i was supposed to get back ahold of the young lady and check on her son. So, I took the racquets to be re-strung and you guessed it she was at the store to wait on me. She said she had wanted to call me because her son's problem had gotten much worse - he had been vomitting daily for the last 3 weeks, lots of nausea, and diarrhea plus the doctors wanted to do exploritory surgery if they couldnt control the issues. As luck (yea right) would have it at michaels last workshop we had covered a treatment for nausea. So mom decided she wanted me to treat her son, I started with the nausea treatment and expanded it to open stomach, large intestine, small intestine, gall bladder - all the digestive channels. I gave direct treatment to the affected area, as well as used some taoist neuro-energetic healing to unlock some knots in the gut. Mom reported back that that evening was the 1st night in 3 weeks that her som hadn't thrown-up, plus he felt instant relief following the treatment. I followed-up with an additional treatment on Sunday as they were headed back to Riley Hospital today on monday, this time I did a complete Taoist treatment to the spinal area as well as similar treatment to the previous day. Again the youngster said he felt much better following the treatment. His eyes looked brighter and skin clarity seemed better. I haven't heard what the doc's have had to say yet foolowing their visit to the hospital, we are planning a follow-up later this week.

The reports of these synchronicity events keep happening as I increase my stillness-movement practice - it's as if patients are falling out of the sky asking for my help. The stillness has really helped open up my compassion and desire to truly understand whats causing these peoples issues and then trying to help them the best that i can.

If you are interested in learning true medical qigong and the taoist neuroenergetic technique I can only encourage to attend one of Michaels workshops and see if your results are similar to mine.

    Thanks for reading.

A great read! it was great to meet you guys, do keep in contact. I hope I can meet you again one day.

  13. but what REALLY put me off of Ya Mu's teachings, and i'm really hoping to get a response/some clarification, is that he posted a video, which i consider to be fraudulent, in order to attract students.

    http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/14082-stillness-movement-qigong-qi-projection/

it's not the student's movements that i find problematic, as i have clients who shake and twist and move as well. i know that this kind of thing happens. it's the comment he made later on the same page:

That video is not fraudulent. I know this because I am the person in that video. I usually refrain from posting these days and I don't like to do reviews until I have somewhat mastered something. I don't really want to go into much detail or get into any debates but I noticed this post after posting my I-Ching request and have to back Michael up and tell you that it's not a fake vid for sure. I had also not been a long term student and when I opened up to the energy that's what happened. I had no idea I was being videoed but I was cool about it after and said it was ok to share.
