What other qigong styles are you doing that you think will conflict with this?

That's the point, I don't know if there will be conflict since in some talks in the site people seem to speak how you can't do "X style" together with "Y style".

Right now I'm doing Baguazhang. At the beginning, but still...

  2. Delusion of today: Getting rid of all toxins and "impurities" in my body in order to enhance my health and my appearance.

I might have been reading too many novels these days, or was it just a case of feeling a bit better after changing my diet to become a bit healthier?

Either way, I am trying to learn-aside the mundane ways-how to detoxify my body as best as possible. One way I see is turning the toxins into a "black substance" of sorts that is expelled from my body.Concentrate on this imagine and then make the energy flow from the innermost parts to the extremities like hands or feet, leaving my body.

Of course, whenever I go to the bathroom I also try to "see this substance" in what I expell, so it ends up leaving me physically and spiritually.

    Will this work?Maybe, maybe not.

Am I detoxifying myself properly? As best as I can but I know that this may not be the most orthodox way of doing things.Still, it is centered on my reality so it feels much closer and realistic than if I were to do something more "monastic" or much more spiritual.

EDIT: I'm also incorporating self-massage on the body in order to stimulate it.

  3. Lately I have been thinking(and consequently, daydreaming) more about stepping on air.

It starts the same way, I visualize some strange "boots" on my feet(going almost up to my knees), and suddenly it's as if gravity lost it's meaning and I feel weightless while leaping upward.

As if something grabbed me by my heels and throwed me up into the air.

Since I can simulate sensations a bit while daydreaming, the feeling is a bit jarring(due to me having labyrinth issues which makes me getting dizzy an easy feat) but at this point it has become something that I just accept.

After this, usually the daydream shifts into purposeful steps, on walls, on small surfaces, on clouds and on air, anywhere and everywhere.

I can only imagine how interesting such a sight would be if this could end up becoming a reality.

I certainly would need to learn to not get dizzy, or take something for that.

  4. "The sword harnesses a pure essence that is life giving-one who cannot live the way of the sword saint will foolishly think that the sword is only a tool for cutting."

"To show the determination(kihaku) that you will immediately knock over an opponent with your fighting spirit(kiai)-this is the form of calm courage and the quiet heart of a divine posture."

"The enemy's attack is stayed by your determination and ther are temporarily paralyzed(fudo kanashibari) as they are knocked down from a distance by your thundering cry(to-ate no jutsu)."

"You must understand the mind of "ten thousand changes, no surprises," and attain the knowledge of muto dori in response to infinite variations."

"This means to persevere in the martial ways(bufu-ikkan), and to train consistently and with utmost effort. Then you will grasp the secrets of muto dori(no-sword technique).Succeeding in this, the mysteries of the secret sword(hiken) will be revealed, and no matter what weapon you hold, your heart and your taijutsu will dance skillfuly in the void(koku)."

"The world of real fighting surpasses that of form(kata)."

"Facing an opponent, armed with a sword, adapting to change(henka), hiding in the void(koku), accepting change, and acquiescing to the void-this is never about killing the opponent or benefitting from the aggression of your allies. The true meaning of Myofuken(miraculous sword) and Shinken shiraha tori(seizing a real, drawn sword) are revealed in the light and shadow as if flash frames in a movie."

  5. Although this journal is being written now, the process of training to develop telekinesis has been going on since the middle of January.I don't expect to see any proper progress sooner than six months in, but it would be a pleasurable feeling if that happened.

The main difficulty with achieving results with telekinesis(or any psychic powers for that matter) is that there are many people that speak of the many ways to do that but there isn't an "one size fits all" method that can be considered the most legit one, so in the end this becomes more of a research for the different methods that exist than actually spending time trainning with techniques.

I also know that something like this isn't seen with good eyes by the community, probably because of the amount of charlatans that claimed to be able to use telekinesis and in the end used special effects, trickery or spoke about it without being willing to show it in person.

And I also know that some beliefs and philosophies see with bad eyes someone actually trying to pursue such powers because of their egoes, but honestly I don't really care about this.To each their own so I ask that you don't try to enforce your own world views on me, and I wond't do the same to you and your own practices, savy?

Out of all psychic powers, telekinesis is the most visual one, the one that you can actually see the results(and also the one that can easily be led on by your own biases) and it's also the one that can best be used to help you in case of necessity. Not like sixth sense or remote viewing also don't have their merits, but telekinesis is more direct and more instant, which is a necessity when it comes to survival.

Plus it is also known that out of all psychic powers, telekinesis is the one with the highest number of functions. You can manipulate nature, yourself, others and objects just with telekinesis alone, so it is a "swiss army knife" of psychic powers. Many options for the price of one.

I will be honest and admit that after many years being taught to be skeptic, it will be a hard path to take to suddenly try to develop something that is mostly seen in works of science fiction, so this will also be a journey for me to learn to be a bit more open minded(no pun intended) when it comes to anything that is considered outside the norm when it comes to science.

My end goal, the one that will show me that I did achieve mastery over telekinesis, will be to be able to open and close a door without touching it.

My bonus goal, the one that is more linked to a desire of mine than to a realistic result, is to use telekinesis to help me simulate super-strength.Nothing too "Superman", just something to help me lift more weight than I would realistically be able to lift with my current physical strength.

  6. To me the phrase "tough guy" means someone(usually a man) that likes to posture himself as if he was stronger or braver, more than any around him, but in truth he would be the first one to fall and beg for mercy or flee when against someone or something that he considers to be a threat.

There is a reason why the image of a "tough guy" usually is used for bullies and the stereotyped "macho man".

  7. "Kensei = Sword Saint"

"They were people who did not only excel in the way of fighting with the sword but had also reached a position superior to those who practiced the way of the sword in the dojo."

"Masters and experts appear to shine like glittering stars. However, hte path of the sword saints, like the passing of days from sun to moon, shows it's color to both master and student."

    1. Learn first that whatever hardship you may have to endureis but temporary.
    2. Always behave correctly.
    3. Do not fall prey to avarice, indulgence, or egoism.
    4. Sorrow and hate are both part of life; understand that they too are gifts from the gods.
    5. Never stray from the path of faith nor from that of martial arts.Aspire in the ways of both pen and sword.

"Bufu ichigei(mastery of one talent in the martial ways)"

"It would seem that the soul of art and performance transcend the world of the living; there is power in art that derives from the world of the dead. This kind of demonic spirit drives creativity and energetic, outstanding performances in the theater. It is a world untouched by those who are not artists, and feared by those who have power."

"Kiai(projection of the fighting spirit into a voice)"

"In the world of martial arts, one should not stick to strength or weakness, softness or hardness; rather one should transcend physicality and understand the void, 'ku', regarding the body as also empty."

"The flash of lightning brings forth a thundercloud and a thunderstorm, the echo of wind grows louder, the aesthetic effect of fear rises.Stepping into this scene, your six senses are absorbed."

"If you have the capacity ro recognize defeat as also important, then your life force will be stronger, and this in turn cultivates courage with calmness."

    "Shinmyoken(mysterious sword)"

"If your feelings are violent and brutal, then the way will be lost, but if the feeling is too humane, then you cannot hunt effectively."

"Speaking of the 18 basic fields of martial arts, the following disciplines come to mind: taijutsu, kenjutsu, bojutsu, sojutsu, iaijutsu, bajutsu, shurikenjutsu, and hobakujutsu(art of arresting)."

"It is important to learn, but some people cannot progress even if they try hard at learning-they don't have the capacity."

"To leave things ambiguous and not judge the truth of matters that are uncertain, aesthetically speaking, is connected to the world of the subtle and profound(yugen no sekai)."

  8. Iaidō("The Way of Iai", the more formal/spiritual version), Iainuki("iai display"), Battōjutsu("unsheathing techniques"; typically focused on attack power rather than self-defense) and Battōdō("The Way of Unsheathing"; training the spirit by swiftly cutting objects in half).

  9. Gothic Horror: It tends to play on both the thrill and the fear of the unknown and places a great importance on atmosphere. It's usually heavily symbolic, sometimes even dreamlike.

Gothic Punk: A place which is like the modern-day real world, only a lot more goth. Various supernatural creatures lurk just below the surface, often treating humans as cattle at best, and vermin at worst.

Gaslamp Fantasy: Gaslamp fantasy, also called gaslight fantasy, is Steampunk's more magically-inclined cousin. The key difference between gaslamp fantasy and steampunk is that steampunk focuses on alternate developments in technology (and need not have any magic at all), while gaslamp fantasy focuses on supernatural elements (and need not have any technology that didn't actually exist).

New Weird: The New Weird movement is a post-modernist take on certain kinds of literary genre fiction. In a nutshell, it's a specific genre of Scifi/Fantasy/Horror literature that does not follow the conventions of derivative Science Fiction, Fantasy or Horror, without being an outright parody or deconstruction. New Weird incorporates elements from certain genres, but tries to avoid being typecast as stereotypical examples of any of them.

  10. Does it exist?

A word to mean when you want to be alone when also surrounded by others?

You want to be around a small amount of people, so you're not technically alone, but you want to be left alone to your own devices and not be bothered by interacting with those around you.

If there isn't a word for that, I might have to make up one.

  11. Lately I've been interested in fighting games like Tekken and Mortal Kombat.

The idea that a person could train martial arts(and for some characters, mystical arts) and become not quite a one man/woman army but still leagues above a regular person in terms of personal power, sounded interesting.Because in the end this is the pursuit I have, the pursuit of personal power, enough to allow me to freely move and act as I will.

In the case of those martial arts games they seem to be somehwat grounded on reality in terms of what one can do(as very few of them actually seem to have enough power to become a true menace to humanity, even if we take into account the myriad of powers many characters have), surely they can do incredible demonstrations of physical prowess but very few get to even be called "superhuman".I won't even speak about the highly technologically advanced ones since our own scientific development is nowhere near to that and unless we're talking about "sci-fi sorcery"(a.k.a. space magic) I tend to not really be much into the technological part so such characters don't attract my attention.

I do like science fiction though, funnily enough.

  12. So far the most I can get is feeling like my weight comes up from my feet and goes to my knees, but it stays there.

As if from the knees down it was weightless, but of course that I can only do that with one feet at a time(one leg up and one down on the ground).

So no, still not "stepping on air/clouds", but I noticed that whenever I do whatever it is that makes this sensation happen I also tend to step a bit more lightly(as in making less noise when walking). It's interesting to see that the feeling of weightlesness can also help with walking with low or no sound, of course also remembering that a person's shoes also play a part at making sounds too.

  13. Seeing games like Eternal Darkness, Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth and Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy makes me miss those games that actually gave you the feeling of ancient mysteries and conspiracies.

For some reason it feels like most games nowadays can't really pass well this feeling, even if their entire premise is set on that.I don't know if it is a storytelling issue, a theme issue or a medium issue but modern games seem to lack this "awe" for the supernatural that games from back then seemed to have.

Honestly I'm partial to believing it is both a storytelling or worldbuilding issue as well as a company issue(because it is known that many game companies, specially the big ones) are so set in selling a product nowadays rather than a game that they don't care about lying about it on trailers and ads, they don't care that it gets released full of bugs or even with missing content.

And those things just ruin the immersion, and when a game needs immersion to make it work then you can be sure that the game itself will be ruined since you don't feel as into it as you should.

Going through the motions isn't the same as playing a game.Just like surviving isn't the same as living.

  14. I hope this Wood Dragon year will be a better year for me.

I hope that I can get and do most of the things I want.

I know the dragon is seem as an auspicious sign so may the dragon in my life ride up towards the sky.

  15. These days I've been studying about Butoh, the so called "Dance of Darkness", due to how much others keep saying that it is a means of alchemical transformation of the self.

Although I have to say that I feel like my vibe(due to my high energy) is more in synch with more "high energy" dances like Electro Swing, Break Dance and even Hula, I do think that there are heaps to learn from trying something more inward like Butoh. And maybe something more introspective like it is what I need right now, despite already considering myself an introspective person due to my own introvert tendencies.

But I guess there must be a difference between thinking and doing introspection.

  16. This is my digital commonplace book, and for those that do not know what that means this is a concise explanation:

    Quote

A commonplace book is any collection of knowledge and reflections, drawn from various sources and kept in analog or digital format.

Anything can go into a commonplace book, from quotes and certain knowledge gathered from other places, to random thoughts or even something that caught your attention. It basically works as a means to help you remember what you considered important as well as maybe help as a source of future inspiration for yourself or any works of yours.

Has anyone managed to cultivate and integrate their awareness and apply it to a skill? Maybe even specifically harnessed it for a particular skill or skillset?

I dance, act and sing. All at once or one at a time.

I need constant awareness of my body, in it's entirety and specific parts of it(once at a time or all at the same time), I need to know where I am in the space, I need to be aware of the tempo of a music, etc.

And while I'm doing all of those physical actions I am able to be aware of myself, just myself and nothing else.A time for me to connect with my innermost parts, form a bridge between the outisde and the inside.

This is still a WIP but I can safely say "yes".

  18. Delusion of today: Imbuing energy in objects to enhance their toughness and sharpness(where that applies).

Have you ever throw a card and thought: "Damn, imagine if that could hit a piece of wood the same way as a knife or an axe?"

    Because I have.

Playing cards are the easiest and safest material to try this delusion on(you can use leaves too but those are too inconsistent due to them being in nature, cards are more "neutral"), the only pre-requisites is that you 1.Own a card deck and 2.Know how to throw a card.

Easy stuff, the hard part is to actually hit where you aim, that is a can of worms on it's own.

I have some decent grasp at the energy inside my body but I still don't know how to "imbue" the card with it.

So far I have been doing a "spread", where I let the energy in my hands spread towards the card and "engulf" it.As if the card was a part of my body.

No success so far, but I do like to imagine how it would look like.

I would throw a card and next thing I know, it would've embedded itself into a wall or a tree.

Those dreams are what keeps me going with this.

  19. Rather than making a dozen of threads towards the many wondrous actions and states that I aim to achieve, I decided to make a single place to write them down.Easier to keep an eye on one thread than on dozens, but if certain matter requires a more exclusive place I will make a separate thread for it.

    Why I call them "Delusions"?

As the name implies, the things I want can be considered delusions if we judge them only through the skpetical and scientific lens. And why wouldn't they be delusions? As far as anyone knows, no one has ever achieved any of these, we only see these in works of fiction like novels and games.

I'm not trying to tell myself that it is useless to dream of those, in fact calling them delusions sounds(to me at least)like a joke of sorts.I am making a joke over how people call anything that sounds "out of the charts" as a "delusion", call me "delulu" if you want but I wonder how many common place things nowadays were once thought of as delusions as well.

Yes, there is a difference between technological achievements and spiritual/energetic ones, but in the end it's all the same.It takes one to make the difference and show it can be done.

Do I hope to ever get it in this lifetime?...hardly, but I do dream of it and that's all that matters to me.

  20. So far the exercises are going fine, I think I'm starting to grasp better the feeling and idea of "air stepping", but nothing "uncommon" has happened yet.

I am prepared to not expect anything, but it would be incredibly euphoric if one day suddenly these exercises bore fruits.

Yes, I still aspire to one day step on air and "walk the sky".Just because it is almost an impossibility it doesn't mean that I will give up on it.

The harder a goal, the more worthy it will seem and the more rewarding it will be if it ever is achieved.
