Lima, The first struggle I had was that I was contemptuous of the idea of cultivating Metta or "loving kindness" - I came from a background that viewed that as a "weak" feeling. I no longer feel that way. Next the struggle emerged that I did not feel like I deserved to feel this way. It may sound silly, but it was awful for me until I got over myself. Hope that helps
