Chi and blood are supposed to be the same..maybe Qidr or anyone else with a background in TCM can chime in here. So the sense of fullness and warmth *is* increased blood circulation. What do you mean by 'actual chi'...I'm actually nurturing a personal theory..that the phenomena of chi is really a gas we produced called nitric oxide.. T

Hey Spy, I'm not really sure what you're saying here. By your statements, the guys moving things and lighting fires must be liars. I personally am not considering the monk/sheets thing magical. Moving chi in your body? That's all personal experience, which is beyond the scope of this thread. The videos showing props and blankets, to me, is the same as a magic trick. That's all I was saying. We were discussing things that go beyond the realm of currently understood physics..like boiling water and moving a bucket of water.. T

I have the book and will check it out...btw, do you think that the practice would accelerate fat burning? I believe in theory it would/should. It would make for an interesting fitness craze.. T

Yeah, also in the video clip where the 'master' was moving the water, etc...why the tablecloth? You'll find with all of these demo's, there's a setup. No different from a magic show. Someone said it best earlier, when you can't see how it's done, why assume the most magical explanation? With so many millions of people practicing qigong for so many years, we would see more things like this. A curious thing about the rolled up towel..notice how the whole towel generated heat and nothing around it? You mean to say the qi emitted from the guy is so precise that only the towel and only the tin foil heats up? Again, I don't remember much of my physics, but I'm sure a real scientist would have something to say about reflective heat vs generated heat in those examples. T

Vitamin B6 and Melatonin will do this. I've often gone straight into a lucid dream after taking melatonin. Also regarding your question on energy. The Castaneda material references the need for Jing in order to have lucid dreams. T

You can't really judge someone because they didn't say hi to you..couple things..first, this is new york city, people generally don't say hi..second, if they were just treated, they are probably in all sorts of weird states..some people really need to sleep after a treatment.. T

When we dream, we invent a past with alot of detail. In fact, we are absolutely certain of the reality of whatever situation we're in. I'm not so sure we don't 'disappear'. Think of your body right now..where was it 5 minutes ago? Maybe you just dreamed it back. I'm not so sure Einstein would necessarily say we can't put our hands through something.. T

Alot of these 'teachers' are very charismatic..as such they don't often censor themselves when they start yapping away. You can't take every sentence and hold them to the flame. There are no 'super powers' because humans have been around for thousands of years and the fact that we have to still talk about whether anyone has actually witnessed a super power speaks for itself. There would have been countless natural abbertions over the tens of thousands of years where people would have had these abilities with no training. Sort of like child prodigies. Just because we can't figure something out doesn't mean it's supernatural either, it just means we don't know what happened. With that said, however, what do you think of this thought experiment? In reality, you and I really don't exist. Between our particles there is far more empty space and these particles are influenced greatly by mere observation. We can all accept that the reality we are experiencing is produced in our brains or better in our consciousness. So the same can be true within a lucid dream, the 'you' and the 'I' really only exist as thought forms. What really is the difference between the lucid dream and a waking experience? Not much because it's 'you' creating both..still with me? Now, all of us who have had lucid dreams know that we all have super powers in those experiences. So, again, what stops us from walking through a wall in our waking experience, if it is merely a construct of the mind and if, like dust particles, it really isn't there at all except because we expect it to be there?? <insert twilight zone music> T

Anyone know offhand if there is a relationship between Hebrew and Sanskrit? Both are considered holy languages and there is special meaning in the sounds and the shapes of the letters. Any other language you can think of that is considered spiritual? T

You just have to dive in like all of us and eventually you'll sort it out. Chi Nei Tsang is abdominal massage.. Nei generally means 'internal'. You'll run into people who insist Nei Kung is different than Chi Kung, etc, but like i said before, it's just a general term. Don't fuss over it because there is no definitive answer. Even Chi Kung is a relatively new term. Alot of us started via Mantak Chia..just jump in and enjoy the ride. Keep asking questions, but not so many that you don't practice and experiment T

I think a very basic thing to do is move something with mind power. Very simple, very reproducible. Completely unarguable. If it can be shown, it would usher in a completely new understanding. It doesn't matter if Randi keeps the money for himself. If it got to this point, a million dollars is completely and utterly meaningless. Don't you all get it?
