  1. Light vs. Darkness

It's all energy. You can't see WiFi waves moving through the air but you know they're there. Same thing with light that you can't see. What's so special about light that we can see? It's just relative to human perception. So what? Are we that special that we can give preference only to things WE can see? Don't get on that high horse . Light is not beyond duality by the way. If it's a thing then it's within duality, and light is made up of photons which are things. End of story. Find your essence and everything else will start to make sense. I'm not talking about enlightenment because it's much easier than that.
  2. I ruined my moms life

Chill out. That kind of breathing is natural. You didn't do anything.
  3. Melting

There was one time where I was standing and connecting the energy of my body out through my right arm and I somehow threaded a needle and connected in a really specific way. The result was that my arm felt like it turned to a thick liquid and was stretching and melting longer than the distance to the ground. It felt really heavy but really light to move. I've been trying to get this again for years with no luck. It feels like the right kind of state for internal martial arts. Heavy but light to move (fast and powerful). Can anyone here do this, and how do you go about turning it on? What I was thinking about was raising up my spine, expanding the spinal energy to the collarbone, expanding from the center of the collarbone and center of the spine around into my shoulders, and just feeling a connection. I wasn't trying to move my shoulder back into alignment but I noted that it did that itself, not that I realised it was happening at the time. I want to try and get this state in my whole body so I'm willing to try any suggestions.
  4. Melting

It's not really a big deal. Just thought I'd mention it. Got plenty of other stuff to practice. It came to mind because my shoulders have been sore and this would have pretty much fixed them up if it was like it was last time. The point of intention and desire is an interesting one when it comes to martial arts. You obviously want to do something, but at the same time you don't. It's only starting to become apparent what the masters mean when they say "do nothing". You might be hitting someone but you really aren't doing anything.
  5. Sincere call for Help

I sometimes have my dreams overlap into the waking state for a minute or so. Particularly when there's a recent big energy release. I don't read anything into it. Last time it happened 4 nights in a row, then I got really drunk and it stopped happening.
  6. Where is my Qi?

Depends how you use technology. It's part of my training now to be mindful of my state of mind when on the computer. The effect seems to change depending on how absorbed you are.
  7. Start asking the right questions first

No difference between your atoms and my atoms. Only a localised mental construct on both ends that causes the separation. If you ditch the mental construct then it's not helping yourself or helping the universe but I guess more like helping yourself AS the universe.
  8. West and East

I think the best thing is that it's a living tradition. Any texts can be backed up experientially or any experience can be explained by the texts. Even without texts it all still exists to be rediscovered. All text and no experience though..... (*cough* 99% of religion *cough*)
  9. A few questions on sleeping

Your questions were naive and irrelevant. Would you like it said any more directly? The closest thing to what you describe is lucid dreaming, except your mind is not awake and aware but asleep and aware(ish). A condition where your body is asleep and your mind is awake as per normal is by no means the definition of asleep, as I eluded to. It's more like a state of rest. Gaining that is therefore obtained through the process of learning deep relaxation. Even enlightened people need to sleep. You can't get around it. You'll likely lose a lot of it practicing lucid dreaming which is mostly a pointless endeavor in any case.
  10. A few questions on sleeping

It's nothing to do with sleep. If you practice meditation a lot then your body will consume less energy and need less sleep. There is no easy way.
  11. Enlightenment

It's an empty word used to set up the desire for more empty words.
  12. Immortality vs reincarnation

Perhaps there is reincarnation in religious Taoism. If you're dwelling in the present then there is perhaps no room for such a desire. Immortality is more a discovery than an achievement, thus there's probably not a lot of benefit in talking about it.
  13. SQL error

I got the SQL error again a few minutes ago at 4:57pm GMT+10 but I first noticed it yesterday at 10:32am GMT+10. This was happening when trying to access the main page and happened on my computer and phone. Cleared my cache etc but it didn't fix it. Just before when it failed I tried again without doing anything and it started working.
  14. Nothingness

No no no no no no and no. Just forget about it. Seriously. The more you think about it the more you'll stop yourself from actually experiencing it. It's not really that out-there. Just let everything stop and then you'll know. It's not about enlightenment. It just is.
  15. Is the earth round/spherical?

It's within a torus if projected on a plane and then wrapped to connect the edges. I pretty much worked out that if you modeled the universe like the 64 hexagrams, or even take that 64 and converge it towards infinity, then you arrange it so that every neighbouring hexagram is a change of 1 bit (meaning that every change is 1 step separated), then when wrapped to form a 3d object it becomes a torus. It doesn't really mean anything though. It's still a thought construct or a model, which in reality doesn't exist.
  16. You can direct chi to the dantian area. For the the purposes outline you'd be better off sticking your head in a blender. It just won't work for you practically. The best way to deal with these things is to find the natural state of unborn awareness, where it feels like you're just sitting back watching all these things happen. Then you don't even have to do anything! It's as simple as just watching it all fizzle out. Get better at staying in this state and all your problems will just sort themselves out. It may take time but you just stay there and it all purifies naturally. The state is like rain on a bush fire. Might take some time but you just keep going and eventually the fire will be put out. It's nothing too out-there either. It's not the same as your thoughts stopping, although it tends to be like that. Probably the easiest way to get into the state is to think of a paradox and let your brain fail at working it out. When it fails it tends to switch to the aware state briefly if you allow it to. Or possibly next time you read something and it doesn't make sense, just be ok with that and see if your brain lets go. This all has to happen on it's own. Your job is to find the triggers so that it happens automatically (more and more often). Then the result is that you have these kind of "issues" but instead of them using you it's the other way around. You can use them like tools. In other words you an watch as much porn as you want to haha. Everything is resolved in the Unborn
  17. How to read books like.....

It doesn't matter what it says. The beauty of it is in stopping the mind. That's the knowledge, not the intellectual understanding. You can have both which is kind of a win win. If you don't get it then your mind either stresses out trying to get it or it lets go into emptiness. The latter is a true gem. A gift from the ancients. It happens of it's own accord so there's really nothing you can do other than keep on reading, without entertaining intellectual curiosities to the extent where you completely lose sight of the main point.
  18. None of that has to have anything to do with the ego. It's just that most of the time it does. You really have no way of knowing, so presuming that such things are tied to the ego is just plain ignorance. The truth is that you really shouldn't believe anything you hear or read, no matter how legitimate the person may seem to be or no matter how highly they are praised. Take it for what it's worth or don't, then move on.
  19. Questions about the Left & Right channel.

Just open up the main gates and line them up so when you're standing it feels like the weight of the upper ones is sitting on the ones below. Particularly the 4 points in the shoulders nest sitting into the hips and the hips into the bubbling well points. I wouldn't put too much effort into them if you're unsure because you can mess yourself up. I spent too much time working on one side because I felt like they were out of balance, but then I really did throw them out of balance which then caused my back to have issues. It's more beneficial just to keep opening the spine because that can then go out to the side channels naturally and it's a more balanced practice.
  20. planned obsolescence

It all goes hand in hand. The old light bulbs wasted so much energy generating heat, and as you may know anything that generates heat tends to not last forever. They do a good job though. My guess is that it was always more of a problem in colder weather when they heat up and cool down too quickly, then the next time they start up with a microfracture and boooom. It's all speculation. LEDs have good efficiency partially due to the fact that they don't generate much heat. That's always going to be a great benefit to it's life cycle.
  21. Some people can touch high voltage electrical contacts because they have no sweat glands and therefore their skin is a much better insulator. There's all sorts of weird genetic traits around. If you want to charge something then perhaps take a look at what AC and DC electricity actually is. DC is basically a charge in one direction which is pretty simple to understand. AC does not in any way deliver electrons or anything like that. The electrons in an AC system just sit there and vibrate back and forth 50 or 60 times a second depending on your mains frequency, so you could possibly say that the charge is constantly reversing. When looking at what is actually delivered you'd be better off looking at the magnetic field around the wire acting as kind of like a pump which stimulates the electrons already in your devices and gets them to oscillate at 50/60Hz. That field can induce a secondary current if you wrap a coil around the wire. This is how AC current transformers work (eg: a coil with 1000 windings will induce a secondary current 1000 times less that what it is wrapped around). This magnetism stuff, I feel, is the interesting part. It's all nice to know, but none of it will help with building chi. Maybe magnetism could do something but I'm not sure. Just don't be lazy .
  22. If you want to help others...

Don't they always? I can only hope that someone finds a gap after reading something I post. Jamming a stick in the brain cog so that for an instant words completely fail and openness remains. This one I'm still working on.
  23. Mysterious Brain Of Daniel Tammet – A Scientific Rosetta Stone

Nothing to do with consciousness. This is just in the realm of created phenomena like everything else. It's special because hardly anyone can do it, but does this really make it special?
  24. womens breathing

    It's the same
  25. I'm not going to recommend anything. I'll just mention some points that work for me which you probably won't hear anywhere else. 1) Proper pelvic rotation is very important to open up the lower spine. Don't force it though. Add in a mental rotation from the front of your dantien up and around down to the tip of your tailbone. This starts the energy shooting up through your lower spine and it should be obvious if you have a moderate degree of sensitivity. I had originally rotated down from the front of the dantien through the perineum to the tip of the tailbone but the opposite works 100x better. 2) Get the lower part then jump to the upper. Raise up through the sides of the neck into the parts on either side of the occiput. Tilt your head slightly forward in order to open up the occiput where your neck joins your skull. You should really feel something coming up to the top of your head. Coming at it from both top and bottom tends to help with the more difficult part of opening the middle of the back. 3) Sink your chi into the ground. This is difficult because it's not obvious if you're doing it properly. I don't think of the orbit coming back down the front. I just relax everywhere. If you get this then you naturally feel energy pooling in your dantian without the needless practice of visualisation. Intent and visualisation aren't the same. Anyway, I sink all the way to the ground because I think it's more beneficial than just sinking to the dantian. There are thousands of different ways to get it, all of which might work better at different levels. Gather as many tricks as you can and try them out. I get all mine from different martial arts people.
