  1. Well, the only thing I can say is that no birth control is 100 percent effective. Condoms range from 60 to 80 percent, varying. Some even say 30 percent. Birth control pills (for women) is much higher, 80 to 90, I have heard. Even then, nature will take its course no matter our intervention, sometimes. Its a wild world out there!

As to the practices in the book for men, anal lock being one I use, it works great for managing ejaculation and conserving/utilizing your energies. Is there a chance you can still impregnate your partner? Yep. There is probably always a chance.

Its something you have to talk about and accept if you have sex.

On the karezza sex, the information I have read about it states that it is not just non-ejaculatory sex, it is relaxed sex with little or no movement. Its a focus on sensation and connection with your partner.

I have mostly non-ejaculatory sex. It can be quite wild. Now I ejaculate once every 2 weeks...shooting for a month now. That did take nearly 6 months of intense effort to get to. If you do the techniques, you can achieve a great sex life without ejaculation or ejaculating the sperm into the urethra/bladder and pissing it out.

    Good luck!

  2. I had something along the lines of a "psychotic break" for about 8 years.

Linear time, with a stable point fractured. Reality would change, places people things, then pop back. I would do things, such as talk to people, then later on they would tell me it had not happened.

I saw things others did not, people animals, etc. Memories of things, fuzzy and dark, beasts and nightmares wandering in and out of the cracks.

The world around me was chaos, ever changing, shifting realities, combinations. Even my mind, memories would shift and change. Only "I" was solid..even then, "I" could not be sure what"I" was and if "I" was changing.

Nothing was "real", nothing solid. Nothing could be relied upon to be there the next moment.

I felt the emotions of every person that was near me, I felt their physical pain and took some of it on randomly, I felt the grass and leaves dying and growing. All this was intensely painful and I tried to kill my self a few times to end it.

Eventually...I got stronger. I was able to come out of the intense pain without killing my self and over years I was able to handle it better...Then, one year I reached a point where I was more stable. Where the pieces fit a bit better, the cracks a bit smaller..

I still have these experiences. They are infrequent and mild when they do happen. There are periods where it happens allot, 5 times in a day or so. I do not yet know why.

It is very hard to exist in the here and now. I am half here and half not.

That is all I know from my experiences. I hope you can help your friend. I was able to get through it because I had some people who provided support/ love/ something to look forward to.

  3. I would see what the forces at play are and what tendencies are going to be in the future.

Then, I would see what is the truth of this planet. Then the universe, if I could at the moment.

After cultivating a certain level of wisdom and sensitivity to the nature of events and life on this planet, I would decide what form of action I will take and what event it would create, if any.

I would love to build a kingdom that is truly prosperous for all who reside, with little corruption and maximum freedom. Is that truly beneficial? I do not know. Such a thing may not be for the good of the human race.

Then, If none of my large desires of creation and change were proper, I would watch the world go by.

I would watch as humanity grew and destroyed it self, how it ventured out to the stars, how it fell from them, watch as ages go by and by...as the world grew older and older, as the landscape that is turned to dust and what once was becomes nothing but legend, then whisper...then silence.

I would venture into space and see what is, as galaxies opened and crashed and devoured. As worlds collided and burst into fiery spams.

That is probably along the lines of what I would do.

  4. Thanks for the responses and links, all!

I have been searching all over the internet for about a week with no luck. I was told It exists and It would help me, although it may not have been printed for long.

I found all those books, Chi Kung, Diary of the Way, and her website, none seem to reference another book about Dao Yin or called Dao Yin..

I am not 100 percent sure I spelled her name correctly, either. I was just told it was lily su (sue, siou), just how her name sounds and not how its spelled.

I will keep on searching. Thanks and have a great life!

  5. I think it's a generally confused topic, people mostly receive counter-productive instruction re: the mco (and so achieve nothing or actually hurt themselves over time).

That is an excellent point. I think we often focus on it because we think its high level and really achieve little in actually developing. Sure, its great to get in touch with your bodies systems. Being able to understand how you work and feel when something is off is vital.

  6. Opening the MCO is about clearing the Ren and Du Vessels/ Channels. By doing so, all the Channels/ Vessels in the body are able to flow better. There are some blocks/ passes that must be opened and that is a big deal.

Thing is, the MCO already moves. Its already activated. It just can do more and be more efficient/ stronger.

A good place to start is to just feel your body. Meditate and allow your body to show you the MCO. Mindfullness, really. I prefer that to imagining it existing.

    Just keep breathing.

Great point! I can feel mine move in accordance with breath. If I breath, it moves smoothly. If I dont, it gets all wibbly wobbly. Natural abdominal breathing is the place to start. Get a good pump going and see what happens.

    Hope this helps.

  7. I think you answered this with your own next post. :)

Questioning one's life is common, living it differently as a result of this questioning is rare and requires more energy investment than listening to a lecture and picking up a few tips. Living it differently does not mean holding the door for someone and smiling instead of scowling -- that's basic politeness, a worthwhile pursuit but nothing deeply transforming.

I'll give you an example of Classical Chinese Ethics I've observed in real life in people who follow its precepts. E.g., a Chinese friend of mine who lives his life according to that code, having been raised with it. A few years ago, his 80-year-old mom got sick in Taiwan. Simultaneously he discovered that his wife is not only cheating but preparing the legal ground behind his back for taking everything from him. Simultaneously one of his kids hit teenage years and got involved with a bad crowd, failing school, doing drugs, and expressing nothing but hatred toward her family, you know this SADFUCK (standard American drill for universally conforming kids), right? Simultaneously his old dog got partially paralyzed. Simultaneously his business was hit hard with recession and after years of working his ass off and earning good money, he started losing everything at a disturbing rate. Simultaneously a horse he rescued as part of his ongoing self-imposed mission to save doomed horses (racing horses either injured and no longer fit to race or just no longer profitable or of interest to owners, abandoned and on the road to slaughter)... well, enough said, right? A major all around life crisis. What did he do?

For months, he was flying to Taiwan and back every two weeks to be with his mom in the hospital; cut his losses and bailed out of his business to be a full time dad in between; refused to "put to sleep" the sick dog and tended to him as any other family member (they don't put them to sleep, you know, right? They kill them? But the public prefers kindergarten level emotional involvement -- so they call it put to sleep when they execute an animal they don't feel like taking care of because it got hard all of a sudden, just like a four-year-old would sooth herself that the dog is fine, they just put him to sleep...); and, figuring out his wife was planning to rob him blind and move on to another guy, quietly took care of the legal matters, decided to be generous to the max and give her as much as he could afford without victimizing himself and the kids in the process, overcoming bitterness and betrayal and meticulously avoiding any actions that would be about vengeance. The horse, in the meantime, was paying him back for his kindness in saving her life by being the only friend who never let him down at that point, and the only one he would tell all his troubles to. Everyone else kept seeing a calm, smiling face... That's what I meant by "nice try." If those Harvard kids proceed to live the ethics they're learning... you reckon they will?.. Or they will come out of it with that smiling face to show the world but nothing behind it except the usual?..

Excellent! Your friend appears to have a solid core principles as a foundation to go through all that without giving up, making horrid mistakes out of emotional/ exhaustion.

That level of development in a person does seem to be rare...That much change and chaos, is chaotic! heh.

I think some would find that their hearts connect with the teachings enough to get to the place your friend is in. They probably wont get there by taking the class, it will introduce them, though.

Thank you for sharing your experience of your friends, Taomeow!

  8. Yes, kinesthetic sense dominance is part of it, but it's more than that. It's a kind of intelligence by different means, occasionally giving me proof that it far surpasses the intelligence of the neocortex. E.g. it predicts the future, I think I wrote about it at some point -- the LDT supplies me with forecasts that I have learned to read as "warnings" and "promises" -- one hundred percent accurate. It's hard to always do what it says because for one thing it's nonverbal and it's up to my upper brain to "get it" correctly and choose my plans accordingly, and for another, the messages bypass what we normally utilize when planning for the future -- ignorance of certain factors we can't consciously perceive, wishful thinking, "hope," justifications and intellectualizations, all that cognitive noise. The LDT just knows "what's in it for me," so to speak, and tells it as is. And whenever you're not ready to hear the message, you try to ignore it... but in a couple of extreme situations it basically yelled at me, so I couldn't ignore the warning, it kept "yelling" till I changed my understanding of the situation and, accordingly, my inner "readiness" and my external plans. It can be very extreme. But in more mundane situations, it can be just a whisper... and I'm learning, trying, to listen to that whisper at all times, because it never, ever lies.

How do you cultivate and connect with the LDT in this way?

    How does it "feel"?

Its completely fascinating, this information you are sharing...

  9. To tie the two emergent and seemingly unrelated topics of the thread together, I should perhaps mention that I store grammar in the lower dantien. Always did. There's even an NLP term for someone exhibiting this phenomenon: "kinesthetic speller," although when I say "grammar" I mean considerably more than just spelling, more like nearly the whole of linguistics, semantics, stylistics and so on. My lower dantien facilitates (or, occasionally, initiates, or, if there's too much competing stress, sabotages) the creation of templates for structuring a language, any language, English, music, taiji, interior design... anything that has a meaningful set of rules that can and should be applied first exactly, then creatively, to mastering a particular set of skills or grasping a particular body of information.

This may not be immediately understood or even believed by visual or auditory spellers (more NLP terms) who constitute the majority of the modern populations, this is atavistic -- from prehistory. People didn't always rely so heavily on their sight for information, the lower dantien used to be the primary organ of perception, having this advantage over sight that it perceives and processes both external AND internal information simultaneously. This gives it an opportunity to come up with a structure that is external-internal non-contradictory, i.e. basically lets you internalize and, in a sense, embody any learned skill.

The middle and the upper dantiens, which also used to be fully operational from birth in prehistory, have different functions, but I won't say much about them since these are both learned skills in the process of being cultivated for me, whereas a functional lower dantien is, like I said, something I was born with, something that worked without me having to work on it from the get-go. (Of course now that I know what else it can do, I don't have to stop there... :) )

Are you talking about kinesthetic sense dominance?

Im definitely kinesthetic when it comes to how I process information. That is one reason why I love QiGong and MA.. Feels natural.

  10. I was reading a book on Chinese Medicine and in the section on the Channels, it had a very interesting idea..

It said that because the Yang Channels descend from the upper body and the Yin Channels ascend from the lower body, when it is cold outside, you should keep the lower body insulated and the upper body more open to the world.

That way, the Yang energy from the Sun and the world will be taken in and will descend through the body. The Yin will rise, and the outside cold will not damage it.

I know that when my legs are warm in cold weather, I often enjoy having light clothing on my upper body.

Understanding Nature and then how our own system follows the way of Nature....

ideas like this are so simple, yet so profound if they work.

What do you all think about this idea?

  11. OK soooo the person who got the lady for 8 years took an active approach.....

How well did that avoid them approach go? Anyone get someone where it lasted more than 6 months? ;)

I met my partner of 8 months or so on the internet. She lived in Brazil, me in Murica. We met on a chat site and hit it off right away. Became friends, talked every day.

Being honest and expressing your interest seems to work well. Even if it does not, do you want to manipulate a person into being with you?

If they like you and you like them, wonderful!

Compatibility is vital. Shared values, goals, interests. Super helpful.

On the subject of books....It gets you into my pants faster then anything else! haha. I love books.

My partner bought me a book early on in our relationship. A damn good book too.

    I love books.

  12. On another thread, a Master said:

"Do the inner work, only speak from personal experience, ignore urges to quote teachers and books...."

    What does this mean?

In my opinion, it is the difference between Experiential Knowledge and Implied Knowledge.

Reading a book or listening to a teacher and quoting them, without having experienced what they are talking about, is just Implied Knowledge. You do not really know for your self. You may trust the source and give it weight. Even so, until you experience it, it is not real for you.

Also, parts of our minds love to categorize and label. It can be easy to get lost in the world of mind, without actualizing the cultivation. By refraining from focusing on the mind (implied knowledge) you can focus on experience it self.

  13. I practice about 10 minutes of Xing Yi Quan per day. I have only learned the most basic form of Pi Quan and Zuan Quan and I do 5 minutes of each. I sometimes do more, I try and stick with 5 minute rounds.

When I learn a new form, I add another 5 minute round for it. So, next will be 15 minutes, then 20. That way, my ability grows along with my learning and I do not go over my healthy limit. Keeps it consistent.

Added to this, is my QiGong practice. I do about 30 to 50 minutes of QiGong a day. I like to start with Xing Yi Quan to get my system moving, then move into Wild Goose and then some Medical QiGong/ Skill expanding forms/ Breath work. When I feel like it is good to do, I will add in some Yin Gong Jin.

My goal is to practice at least an hour and a half of MA, then two hours of QiGong. Of course, the IMA are also QiGong, so its lots of Qi cultivation! haha.

    Peace.

  14. I have noticed that in my years of study and teaching that there are those who seek Intensity. This is the path and journey that some of us have chosen. Intensity provides a certain experience that Non-Intensity does not. However, Intensity can be very harmful in any practice whether it be running a marathon, zhan zhuang, fasting, meditation, dieting, studying, etc.. Intensity can potentially harm the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical aspects - sometimes to a point of great rupture. Each person is different as to how they will respond to the intensity of any practice.

The safest approach is to move ahead in the direction that one has chosen but always listen to the signals that one is receiving from the body. If one is not use to listening to signals then the signals will intensify and at times become so intense as to immobilize any further action. This of course is something to be avoided if possible because of the harm one does to one's own body.

If one is content with moderation then there will be less potential for harm but then again Intensity will never be experienced. Such are the choices we each make during our journeys.

Over my life, I have had to learn how to do the most while not doing too much. The line between relaxed intensity and stressful intensity.

During my QiGong training, in the early days, I would have to practice for an hour or two a day just to remember the moves.

Now, If I forget, I take a break and let it come back. Afterwards, I do not forget so easily.

As a few others have said, learning to listen, to know your limits is a huge part of it. In our society, we tend to think of MORE as BETTER. It is not always the case. Especially with Internal Practices. We can easily do more and hurt our selves in the process. Stress our systems out too much.

Some days, I do nothing. My system wants to rest. To integrate what is already taking place. That is hard because my mind wants to do more! To progress!

Sometimes, doing nothing IS doing something. Sometimes doing something IS doing nothing. Hah.

    Great thread!

    Peace

  15. I read recently that scientists have shown that the blood flows in the body during the embryonic phase by forming into spirals around the heart before the physical organ is properly grown. So there is a spiral at the heart before the heart it is even formed. Leonardo Da Vinci also worked that out long time ago how blood spirals at the heart, but modern medicine is only now starting to properly understand this and use it in its theories.

I wonder if the blood spiral is the Qi/Blood and other subtle aspects forming the Organs blueprint and function on a level more subtle then the flesh.....

If the heart does that....do the rest of the organs?! That would be pretty cool to see in action.

Thanks for sharing, BKS and Jetsun!

  16.

That Blog has very interesting articles. Check out the different years...

    In one it says:

"When we feel angry, anger affects the Liver automatically, but it is the Shen of the Heart that “feels” the anger."

To tie in your other thread on 'sounds' to this thread on 'shen'... this is why some will advise "Haaaa" (heart sound) to deal with anger (Liver).

I will check those out! Thank you, Dawei!

Ohhh. I have read quite a few who advice the use of Heart sound to deal with anger. Other emotions as well.

Thank you for bringing both threads together! They do connect. Learn the Sounds, learn the Organs, can do some amazing things with them.

  17. Uroboros,

As a follower of Spiritism, I disagree with all TCM related concepts. Hun, Po, Shen, etc, five elements theory, I disagree. Sorry. Please do not ask me to post any further on this subject, because it is a taboo, everybody here believes that TCM is the best.

Hmm. Then why did you decide to post on a TCM topic?

I asked your opinion so as to end the pointless arguments and move into a creative discussion about the topic this thread is about.

    Peace.

  18. I talked about a combined application not Western Medicine alone or TCM alone. For instance, you apply liver function test, continue your TCM (whatever it is) then have a second test.

I saw that. In my experience, blood tests are rarely needed and so far, they have not been for me.

    Now, back on topic.

Do you have any thoughts about the Spirits and how they affect the Organs in healing?

Something I have been thinking about, Kidneys and Zhi. The Will is in the kidneys...if so, can we cultivate our ability to make aware, free choices and strengthen the kidneys?

This can become a tie in to personal growth, where you cultivate and change your self.

    Peace
