I have found this thread very interesting.

Their are meditative strands within Christianity, but I would have to agree with the overall feeling expressed here that many Christians have not been taught meditation nor believe it has anything to do with Christianity.

Jason, of course it is possible, though I do not think so.

Basher, yes I believe many a human being seems to cope quite well without such belief. As to your second question I cannot answer with any integrity, but it does seem that perhaps we could have imagined a better one than some of the ones described by various believers of different religions.
