The Plato Rosinke appreciation thread

Recommended Posts

been serious about this stuff, and got more fixated than I should've - but, on the other hand, there were principles that I just had to clarify. The "R&D" work on this road has been personally expensive. And not just for me. Back somewhere prior to 2000 (98?) when we were just starting out on the HT board - looking back it was so pitiful and ridiculous how little we knew, how naive we were. Plato really was very progressive and prompted a number of very important avante-gard break throughs. Now there is this broader base of knowledge that the community knows in general (and, yes, a lot of it is preserved on my site - a group effort).

No doubt Plato was one of the major reasons I even bothered with the HT board. Actually out of all the posters he immedietly caught my attention for some reason . Even his name caught my attention somehow . I remember being this 22 year old kid interested in Taoism and reading this name ' Plato Rosinke' and something sort of clicked with that guy...like I need to come back here from time to time and check out what this guy is saying.

And my few phone convos with Plato have been unique to say the least. In our last conversation a few months back I asked him if he thought anyone in the western world was in the league of Nan Huai Chin and he goes , " Of course not. maybe they get the first Dhyana and think there enlightened or something but that's not even close. I would put Nan Huai Chin on the Shakyamuni level."

There just arent too many people(ok..no one) that I can talk to and here that kind of shit from! Very interesting character and I wish he would stop wasting his talent on secret discussion boards and contribute here occasionally.

(I split your post off to a new topic Cam)

I had a similar intuitive attraction to Plato and his posts on HT. I admit to printing at least a few of his posts out and looking into almost everything he said more deeply. :) Through him I got into all kinds of powerful practices, ie: Body Flow/CST, aneros, various Chinese herbs, ie: Yunnan Paiyao ... And despite not having as much zeal for Bodri/Nan, I think it's incredible that he's managed to introduce this powerful koan of emptiness vs. form into this community, getting nearly all of us to really ponder what should be at the core of our practice ... inspiring many of us to consider stillness/emptiness practices as belonging at the foundation.

Oh yeah its all about that wu chi baby.

Plato has said some interesting stuff. I chuckle recalling his videos he posted of himself in Tibet(or wherever). Mad props for knowing about emptyness and rmax, prostates?...whatever else..where is he now?

Got great stuff from Master Plato. The talent on taobum.com is pretty amazing. Great minds plus high speed internet access yields great insights.

Damn, Plato rocks my little world yet again: do it yourself trepany!! I'm not kidding. I read the article--seriously impressive as usual--and that emboldened me to wade through the scat porn on taobum to learn more...

Not for everyone.

But, it reminded me of the time I hired someone to Rolf me. One session he got me to relax deeply while he stuck his pinky dipped in KY Jelly up my... nose. He sent energy through his finger and I relaxed into a trance and my nose opened up!

You can actually do this yourself. There might be technique written up somewhere. It goes way further than you'd suppose.

I'll add Plato's bodyflow drill to my am routine and the aneros is on the to do list.

I couldn't get his breathing technique to download successfully. The one that he got rid of his beer belly on. If anyone can describe the jist of it, that'd be great.

I don't have a beer gut per se. Really. It's just that I'm not 100% shredded at this very moment.

Just to clarify about NCR--Plato got the idea to do NCR on himself from ME.

I've done about 200 inflations on myself, and still do them every once in a while.

Oh, well that makes Plato rational then. Thanks for clearing that up.

Seriously though. Did you? What's your face look like?

My eyes are not quite so deep set as the used to be. My cheekbones are a bit more prominent. My jaw hangs closere to centerline. My hearing is also a lot better.
