On of my favorite quotes at the moment at least is from the book

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick

After the character Isidore finds out that the story of the profit Mercer was faked he sees the Mercer before him. After a few events and discussion he says to the Mercer "I didn't like that about the whiskey, that's lowering." To this Mercer replied "That's because you're a highly moral person. I'm not. I don't judge, not even myself."

"I dive down into the depth of the ocean of forms,

hoping to gain the perfect pearl of the formless.

No more sailing from harbor to harbor with this my weather-beaten boat.

The days are long passed when my sport was to be tossed on waves.

And now I am eager to die into the deathless.

Into the audience hall by the fathomless abyss

where swells up the music of toneless strings

I shall take this harp of my life.

I shall tune it to the notes of forever,

and when it has sobbed out its last utterance,

lay down my silent harp at the feet of the silent."

-- Rabindranath Tagore

"Larry-san, If you sacrifice everything, you won't be afraid of anything"

Paraphrasing (probably not exact): Baba can you perform miracles? "The circulation of blood through my body is enough"

Baba one of your disciples is eating fish and drinking wine! "So, when he shits he let's it go, why are you still holding on to it?"

You know, I don't want to be somewhere else anymore.

I'm not waiting for anything new to happen...

not looking around the next corner and over the next hill.

I'm here now. That's enough. - Anthony Hopkins in Shadowlands

"Learning to live is learning to let go."

I forget who said this, but it's always meant a great deal to me, and so I thought I should share.

"We are a company of ignorant beings, feeling our way through mists and darkness, learning only by incessantly-repeated blunders, obtaining a glimmering of truth by falling into every conceivable error, dimly discerning light enough for our daily needs, but hopelessly differing whenever we attempt to describe the ultimate origin or end of our paths..." - Leslie Stephen

We shall not cease from exploration

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know the place for the first time.

Living beings do not know that the physical body, the mountains, the rivers, empty space and the great earth are all within the wonderful, bright, true mind.

"This I believe: That the free, exploring mind of the individual human is the most valuable thing in the world. And this I would fight for: The freedom of the mind to take any direction it wishes, undirected. And this I must fight against: Any idea, religion, or government which limits or destroys the individual." - John Steinbeck

I'm paraphrasing Robert Monroe, so excuse me for not giving an exact quote:

The world is cruel and predatory by nature, down to its basic components. It's kill or be killed in the animal kingdom, so is it a surprise that we humans fall back on the same nature? The world is cruel and predatory by nature, but that is what makes it an excellent teaching machine. -paraphrased by Robert Monroe
