Aurobindo Anyone?

Recommended Posts

hmm , well , maybe you get some Taoists who live an extended lifespan compared to non practitioners but the way I see it it is about what happens after death.

Immortality in my perception is ageless body that can live on limitlessly.

You could still be killed or die in catastrophe.

Immortality after death is fraud, because soul of every being transists through life and death without any practice. This is worst case of selling air.

Immortality after death means that you die consciously and stay conscious during death and thereby eleminating the need for reincarnation.

Physcial immortality is a very high state....and can mean just staying young or can even mean unkillable (adamantine body)...for that the elements have to bereversed into their original state...not many achieve that. Pal Pandian from a real Tamil Siddha lineage speaks about some of this in his book.....

Interesting theme.....only mediation will not do it...

Aurobindo has some interesting insights into that topic but not the means to really complete that work.

best!

While I agree that something transits through every death regardless of whatever spiritual realisation you may or may not have attained, the question remains how much of what you recognise as your identity you can take with you to another plane. And some kind of "death" exists not on the physical level alone. At least that's the view of various traditions, including the Tibetan one. And that's why we dedicate ourselves to the creation of what we call the diamond body. Paradoxically, building it up leads to the shedding of some layers of self already while we are physically still alive!

What is a human being, does he have a soul ?
If you look at a human, with bright coloured jeans and personalised hair, it looks very individual, doesn't it.
But when you see a crowd of them together you realise this individuality is just part of a group fashion, it is not individual at all ... it is the song and style that is popular with the anthill right now.

A real individual is rare.  They ... real individuals ... are not individual as part of a fashion.

They have their own essence and substance.

And they are considered very dangerous by the anthill, which lives through protecting the group.

So, becoming an individual is difficult, and rare.

So who has a soul ?   The good news is everyone has a soul, just of different types.   A human in general is part of the collective-human-soul.   And an individual (awakened being) has a personal soul.   His soul is individuated.

Immortality in the body ?   Which body ?   Do you really want to make the shitting farting-ing halatosis body immortal ?   Is that really a good idea ?   Even if you could do it, it's not such a great place to live.   Plus, there are many tricks of all sorts you can perform in this mortal-imaginary world, and people often chase these tricks ... and do not save their souls.   They become full of energies and powers etc... but they .... well it's like King Midas.

The halo, as an image, is a new body that is created and which is individuated, it is the soul-body.   When the physical body dies, the halo remains, it is a body in a "higher" world, in the absolute world, rather than the relative changing earth plane.   The "halo" may be small or may be the same size (roughly speaking) as the physical body.   It may be non visible, or may at times be visible depending on the being.

If you listen very carefully to old saints sages and gurus, you will notice that their perspectives change as they get older ... they become very much less interested in the body and powers and all that .... and wish to simply rest in the mind of god and reach final peace.   Even though often when they were young they were powerful beings with energies and excitement ... but it all goes one way.

Not that you can't gain powers .... but the real power is to be Real, and after that all the games seem smaller.

Anyway as for Aurobindo .... I would also like to see his practices.

Being hung up on absolutes or the so called isness of reality leads nowhere, but into another wall. Is time an arrow from the past to the future? Or, is time fluid? If time is fluid, then what about spacetime? Perhaps matter is fluid and more about space?

but but how about finishing 10 years study for 500.000 usd and buying a diploma to verify that your soul is truly immortal?

Consider it a good will of the purity of your being at the core of who you are.

Every expression is valid, and when you realise this, then you are free to choose the expression that is most fully in alignment with the whole of all that you truely are. How or why? Cause it simply feels good. That's the only reason or permission you will ever need.

As your ability to feel your own energy in motion is your direct physical sensory ability to translate the proximity and degree of your physical being's alignment with your own non-physical greater soul and consciousness. Always here and now, and always perfectly accurate.

And if your dominant intention is to simply feel better and good, you will eventually become a fully realised being, effortlessly and naturally.

Because your good feeling is indicative of your alignment with the whole of all that you've truely become. And it doesn't require you to be anything else than all that you've truely become. You are that worthy and blessed.
