taoist beginings in wudang?

Everything that I read about wudang mountain says that it is the birth place of taoism or something similar. But I have read lots of books on taoism and none of them seem to even mention wudang mountain and if they do it is very briefly. Am I missing something? I am really confused about this.

WuDang is just a mountain with a lineage of taoism build there called WuDang, that is why the mountain is named WuDang too.

 

Taoism is not orginated from WuDang. It is originated from long time ago, way way before LaoZi's period.

google search of 'wudang mountain' yields factual info - amazon.com, books, 'wudang mountain', for

wudang qigong, martial arts, etc. apparently it's like a 'mecca' for taoists.
