Not to rain on your parade, but you claim its "real" bagua, and then say its very little form, mostly application. Now, from what I have learned over the years, form is where most martial arts get their power from. This is kind of like getting a great remote control car for your birthday, and taking the batteries out to play.

Props to his training partner who took some nice spills on a hardwood floor in a small room.

Nice applications on the videos. Bagua is full of great stuff. The number of martial applications is only limited by one's creativity and willingness to train.

Hi Gangs. Yeah. It is a day workshop. I am not sure what exactly be cover. I heard it will the 8 palm changes of Bagua that Kenny Gong taught. From what I seen, it is different than what most Bagua school teaches out there. Kenny Gong's 8 is called the original 8 palm changes. Not better or worse, just original.

Of course you won't learn everything or all forms of bagua in a day. And if you expert to learn all 8 in one day, you either newbie or form collector. I personally rather just learn the first balm and learns as much of the secrets of the first palm as I can within the workshop. Anyone who study internal martial art know what I am talking about. And it will be a bit longer to even digest it deeper after the workshop on your own. Once you own it, you can be only limited by your own imagination.

I wish it to be longer than a day but it is not. But it will be a long day. What I mean is that it won't be a 6 hours workshop but 10 or longer depending on the group. From what I heard from other that trained with Sifu Bey, the man can stay all day talking and training bagua.

I have not met the man, just talked briefly over the phone. I am not sure if he done update his website about this workshop yet. I will email it when I get it.

Wish you all peace,

Q..

From what I heard, standing is where internal martial arts get their power from. Form is an express of the standing. As in stillness in motion and motion in stillness..

Hi. Just finishing having dinner with Sifu Bey after his workshop. We started at noon and went till 5pm. We started with bagua wuiji standing. Then went into about 7 Kenny Gong excercise to build the body. First up was "Dragon turn head," "thousand lift," "lift earth and universe," "lion plays with ball," "snake turn" (I forget the name of this one), "bear stand," and "sam choi,"

Then we learn the bagua walk and stepping. Worked it for 15 minutes or so.. Then do the first balms change. After people got it, we went to the application of it. Sifu Bey demo it first then do it on each of us so we know how it felt like. Then we do the same move back to him. Next was the 2nd balm change. After we got it, he again demo the application. Again perform it on each of us, and we repeat it on him.

It was 5pm by then. We were so tired. Most of the students were from Local Kenny Gong student thru Sifu Morrisey here.

It was a great workshop. He will come back again next winter. Our summer scare him. hahaha.. 125 degree. I hope more people will sign up next time.

Peace,

Q..

Sounds awesome bro!

If I wasn't headed to South Korea in a few weeks might check Sifu Tom out. Sifu Kenny Gong's lineage great people. Training with Tom was like being with family and you could tell they had such great respect for Sifu Kenny Gong.

Hey, let's hang out someday before I leave and review everything we learned from Sifu Jenny.

Cam
