Limbic system

Recommended Posts

Anyone know Chinese, western, or other kinds/ways to enhance the limbic system? Preferably herbal, supplemental, but info on other types will be appreciated too.

Please hit me up, publicly or privately, i don't mind either one if you don't, too :)

Thanks for your help & time

What aspect of the limbic system- emotions, fight or flight response?

Olfaction is heavily wired into the limbic system, so maybe aromatherapy.

both (the whole thing, not one 'segment' of it) ;)

Hello froggie.

I just got a box of Yohimbe yesterday. I think I took a little too much, but I certainly got to experience how it fires up the limbic system. I became more impulsive, more emotional, more active and more sexual. I also felt energyflushes down my legs, up the spine and in my head and face. On my box they say it should not be mixed with stimulants, so I guss my coffee earlier on that day was a little too much.

Hey sheng zhen, thank you for the input. i will give it some investigation

Interesting thing about the MAOI .... i wonder if there are natural MAOI enhancing things to do and take that will not cause any potential 'danger'. i.e. a Actual Diet both high in MAOI and lacking all of the things that cause trouble with MAOI ............ Interesting !

Please note, also interesting:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=us&q=Phenylethylamine

More:

"There are certain MAO inhibitors in nature that stop the breakdown of MAO for a short duration of time, and therefore increase levels neurotransmitters in the central nervous system.

So if these are taken together with the PEA (Phenylethylamine) it should, in theory, allow more to enter into the brain and then affect the way we feel. Although I can't guarantee success, it does work for me :-) (Although not as much as the first time I took it, and it is unpredictable).

Interestingly the herb turmeric also has MAO inhabitation qualities, so this could perhaps be used also, but I am not too sure how effective it would be."
