Here is an example of the hand sign used in Taosim called the Ba Gwa Hand Sign.

This hand sign can be used in ghost busting, demond busting, activating ba gwa mirror and ba gwa fu. Also when a taoist priest is doing the ba gwa steppings, they can also hold this hand sign in front of their chest while stepping and attune themselve to boost up the whole body's energy and gain protection while doing the hand sign, spell, steppings and internal works.

I know and love this hand sign. Very powerful. Thanks for telling us more about it, the spell and the bagua stepping that goes with it. I want to learn the spells, but first things first as you say. Purification. Im working on the basic stuff like cleaning, ethics, diet, physical and mental hygiene stuff. I also really thank you for telling us about how to draw the golden symbol and use the golden mantra. I slept like a baby. But need to clean, clean, clean or we attract a lot of crap to us.

hello Mak Tin Si,

I cannot see the image you have posted. Do you know if it is a problem at my end?

Many thanks

I was wondering if you could tell me whether there is anyone who teaches the Taoist meditation/qigong practices from which modern day bagua zhang apparently derived.

There is some more information about me in my Lobby intro message and why I'm searching. I love the circle walking but (due to being rather unco-ordinated and demands of my work life) I'm not willing to commit the time to learning the martial arts applications.

I know that martial arts and spiritual practice are inextricably linked, but to me it's a case of how to best use my limited time to maximum benefit.

Thank you for your reply. The problem is I'm not really into any martial arts and kung fu: I guess I'm not really the alpha-male type who finds it stimulating. I'm more into the contemplative and spiritual side, in particular I love prayer and so want to find practices that allow me to centre my qi and allow me to seek assistance (and provide assistance) to helper spirits.

So if you have any suggestions of teachers I could approach, I would be most grateful. I live in New Zealand, so that may be a problem if online teaching is not possible.

Regarding bagua: i did read that some people dispute it having any Taoist origins, being rather consider the founder's story about its origins just being there to legitimize his teachings.
