On the subject of secret teachers.... does anyone know Yan Xin's teacher off-hand?

Qigong master Chunyi Lin said he studied with Yan Xin's teacher! I thought that was pretty cool. I suppose it's googagable.

DID I JUST INVENT A MAJOR NEW WORD.

Googagable.

Is "googagable" googagable?

Oh oh.

Deep doo doo now.

Anyway maybe someone has more details on Yan Xin's teacher than google could provide.

And, in advance, sorry about my sugar high, it's most embarassing.

Holy shit -- googagable did not match any words.

OK quick -- SEAN please copyright that word for me and I'll give you like, say, what -- 10% is fair right?

Sweet. Soon I'm be off to China to meet the secret masters!

Watch out world. I'm flying right now. Wow.

OK. back to work -- but first I'll google Sheila Chandra to see if there's any hot shots of her.

Do you bridge the gap between east and west if you went up to Wang LiPing with your attitud saying "Hey Wang LiPing, give me your secret teaching NOW or I will think you are a fraud! We dont hold secrets in the west you know!!!"

Hahaha, please show us how your attitude briges the gap between the east and west. It seems you mean to shut the traditional east out and replace it with the invasive part of the west.

I see Sheng, you pay thousands of dollars to learn them then it's ok correct? My attitude it fine. Not sure where you came from, but perhaps you should go back and let us learn in peace. We as Western people can learn from each other! and I will post everything I lean to help others. How long have you been training? ;)

So that's basically a confession on your part to not knowing Yan Xin's teacher! HA! Vulcan mind grip!

It's coursing through my veins. AAAHH.

OK still though this is A FUCKING COMPUTER FORUM -- not the Karate Kid -- that's just his AVatar man -- that Avatar is not REAL. Even still

Karate Kid was just a Movie -- OK??!!

So even if this was Karate Kid -- it's not the same -- for example...

Qigong Master Chunyi Lin states to his class:

You can not be professional meditators.

He states:

Now that I've learned western culture I can talk more about these things (i.e. sex).

Stuff like that man.

I mean -- how do we know someone isn't just making everything up.

Yeah I just got back from China.

Refuses to even give the newspaper article that cited his name.

I suppose someone here can find it but geez -- if that's the reason he returned to the forum to post you'd think he could at least give the contact information.

I mean apparently their contact info IS secret but this guy is bragging that he, a Westerner, found it so it should be easy.

I guess we have to all get Chinese Girlfriends.... Is that really what this is about?

So those girls talking about me in McDonalds when I walk by -- those Chinese young females staring at my crotch and saying shit in Chinese -- I'm like -- that's

my ticket to learning Iron Crotch or what?!

DAMN.

O.K. I'll work on this:

Mission: "Bag the McDonald's Chinese Students who stare at my crotch when I walk By so I can learn secret Taoist powers"

It's a fucking rough world people.

Im shure you think your attitude is fine Shidoing, we all think our own attitude is fine. But does Wang LiPing or John Chang think the same of us? If you visit them, learn from them and come back and tell me they thought your attitude was great and really helping in bridging the gap between east and west, Ill back down and admit I was wrong to comment it. Ill even adapt your attitude and start demanding!

But personally I dont think "demanding" is ever the right attitude. And Edward Richards, that came here to share, didnt exactly express joy from meeting that attitude either.

And the point is that it is Wang LiPing and John Chang, or any other eastern master, that should decide if that attitude is fine because it is their information you want, right? Not the other westeners that already agree with you and want everything for free through an internet forum.

I agree with Pero. You guys on this forum are insane.

Well now, not everyone, and insane is not quite the right word.

Immature, childish and stuff like that would be more appropriate maybe.

I dont know why I still frequent this place.

Because despite some uhm issues (maybe not the best word) it's a nice place and often interesting. I think the bickering is in the minority but makes the most noise.

Most often it's something related to Mopai and the like, which makes me wonder what kind of people are attracted to it...

Anything else would be time better spent.

Well I think it's better to be here than watching porn, doing drugs and many other things. And you can even learn something sometimes. If nothing else it gives you a chance to practice patience. :)

It's like holding candy over a kids head, and not letting him grab it

Kids being the key word.

I don't know how Red Phoenix, Mao Shan 5 Element Standing, Golden Flower etc. look like. So yes, Max is holding secrets. But you can go and learn from him at a course which you have to pay for. You also have to pay for your training if you visit a martial arts school. And the teacher doesn't owe anything to you. Would you go to a MA school demaning to be taught this and that? You'd be laughed off.

And yet people are PM ing me demanding I share levels 1-3 with them and divulge the exact address and contact info for these masters.

LOL that is funny.

I must agree with sheng zhen and matt.

When I met these 3 masters I was filled with gratitude and respect. I felt so fortunate to have found them. I didn't demand anything. I didn't act like the stereotypical 'ugly American'. Rather, I accepted what was given and was very grateful to receive it. And they were very gracious and hospitable.

Regarding the cultural differences between Asia and the US, they are great indeed. There is a protocol of manners and respect that if not followed will cause a person to lose standing or face. Such a person will be excluded or politely told that they cannot be helped. The Asian culture is very indirect. We Americans might call it 'beating around the bush'. But this is their culture, not ours to judge.

I now recall being told after my first meeting with John Chang that I was being very disrespectful by showing the bottom of my shoe to him as I was sitting on a sofa. In Asia this is a put down, an insult to the other person especially during a first meeting. I was sitting like many Americans - with one foot on the floor and the other foot resting on the knee of the foot on the floor. I immediately apologized. I told them many Americans sit this was and I meant no disrespect, I had no idea. And then I thanked them for correcting me.

drew hempel,

The article that was written about me in Indonesia 3 years ago I have never even read myself. Why? It is in the Indonesian language. Do you read Indonesian? I can't.

Regarding your comments about Chinese girls I must ask - Are you in junior high school? Did you just reach puberty last year? Your comments sound like a person with that level of development.

chinadao thanks for posting here!

I know that some here are very disrepectful when speaking about Masters and teachers. This is the internet and its bound to happen but people who speak that way have never met a Master or they are just not ready. Im not sure i will stick around very much. I may stop in and see if any good info is here now and zen.

Peace

Pero I'd like to get one thing straight. I was not the one who demanded any information. Not sure who that person is, but to demand anything is disrespectful. I did however did ask in these words, would you care to share information on levels1-2. Don't think that was demanding anything. I didn't get a reply so I left it at that. My point I was making is that some people are teaching because they want to share the information, while others are just there to take your money. Max is willing to share what he knows for $300.00 nice fee easy to pay for and you know whom your a dealing with. I didn't mean to offend anyone and if I did in this forum I'm sorry. Edward came to us and said he would answer questions, so we asked!

Read my post to Pero! I'm not looking for Free, but if someone is willing to share information I'll accept it. I have Johns information but will not seek him out. I respect his wishes to be left alone. I will not seek out Wang liping because he chooses to remain somewhat hidden. I will never train with David Verdesi because he is using the art to make money. Nor will I pay thousands of dollars to a man I know nothing about! Everything That we know about him is hearsay. Is that a bad attitude? I think not. B)

Back to the video that started this thread from hell...

What I see is a few EMPTY video boxes being blown off the stand by the guy hidden behind the guy in the foreground. (or any gust generated within the room for that matter)...

Anyone with a good set of lungs could get those boxes moving with a good exhalation that catches the interior of the boxes and topples them...I can blow out a candle from about 4 feet away, many can. Try it yourself at home....

And yes I expect a few "hot air" jokes from youze mugs too!!! B)

If that is a secret power... then I've got a few bridges for sale too...

So now we know what you won't be doing. I am much more curious to learn what you will... :)

Well I will continue to train on my own! When the student is ready the teach will appear. I have had much success on my own through meditation and various movements. I'm also incorporating it with my Aikido training. I will share what I learn just as my teachers have done for me. I will not ask for money because this is not the way it was done in ancient times. We are here to learn and evolve and learn from each other. Some things shouldn't have a price tag :)

just a question--where did you get the idea that it was all free in the ancient times?

When the student was accepted in ancient times it was because he was worthy of learning the secrets. The information was passed down so it would not be lost. If we continue to charge and keep things soo secret they will eventually be lost. Do you want such information to be lost?

What makes you so shure the reason teachings will get lost is because all the master with the valuble information charge too much money?

the teachings were not free then nor should they be free now --they paid in other ways--if they would of had money they would used money. This is not the ancient times--the teachings are not being lost--look many are learning them--some people have issues with money like attracting it and keeping it and spending it for teachings. Its all good--if you can learn these high teachings for free and you are karmically entitled then perhaps you will good luck to you.

It's a bit of a simplistic interpretation, don't you think Pat. I meen the supposition here is that it's a valid demonstration designed to show that the student has accomplished something on an internal level.

Now, if you just don't believe it's possible, that's another story. But if you do, then you have to at least accept the possiblity that there is a deeper meaning.

Even from the point of view of someone who is totally ignorant about qigong, we can appreciate the hard work and dedication of the martial athlete who has the discipline and ability to focus on a given task and succeed.

Ok Sheng I will charge you $10,000.00 U.S. dollars (pay me now) and then I will show you the secret.
