A word from our former sponsor

Curiously, at the fourth turning; the world decides to Swing

cat stevens. I’m not 100 on this, but, I think the story goes, he gave up music to follow his faith. And the world suffered because of it. If the following cat stevens song offends your faith, you are lost. Rumi-esque

this thread really can’t open up to British song, we’d be flooded with led zep, stones, who, and on and on......and while, all the while, American music influences British music, which in turn influences American music,,,

lets try and keep it Muricans. An occasional stray, few and far between, is fine.

Living in the hills, woods, well, some days you get the bear

and sometimes the bear gets you

A word from our new sponsors

Spoiler

Let not your heart be troubled. The trees and hills are whispering;

and that’s why my neck of the woods never flinched, didn’t blink, when pandemics pass through. We bond stronger, get closer, reminded by whispering trees and caressing hills, that when darkness steps forward threatening light, darker than we could’ve imagined, in these woods, we all face it together, and seemingly small acts of compassion and kindness can become truly heroic.

I liked the Janis song you removed as well..

:)

Spoiler

Once upon a time, mid eighties, I had an Alabama gf or a few,

I was down in the heart of Dixie then, they all knew I was from “up top”

(Kentucky) and I was a somewhat renowned herbalist, delivered many flowers,

one named Susie, asked me what life was like up top, she told me that down in bama, there were only three things to do, these things were known as “the three f’s” (fishing, fighting, fuckin)

however, there must be four f’s, seemed like football was and still remains their religion.

Mid eighties, where does time go? Well, actually, of course time doesn’t go anywhere, that’s a subject for another day. Yeah, back then it was We Are The World, ya know. Brothers and Sisters looked out for one another, young, old, it was all the same, We were One. idk how things are some places in our Great America the Beautiful,,,I don’t believe the false narratives sound blasted at us constantly, I can tell you how it is in Murica, that sense of Oneness remains.

Murica stands together Undivided.

after a long Saturday Nightshift I will be looking forward to

I think Janis's singing of the "Me and Bobby McGee" is more of an across the board signature song compared to many of her very fiery songs...which is why i exchanged for it.

so i wonder how many noodlers have lost fingers or other chunks of their body to snapping turtles?

Well, o3b, Bobby McGee’s song setting begins in the Kentucky coal mines,

bonds run deep there.

yep, I to worked as an underground miner for about 6 years but it was a "Cadillac" mine compared to many coal mines where the workers can not even stand up along with other difficulties.  (and the old time ways caused a lot of black lung!)

Murica has Always welcomed outsiders & outlaws, that’s always a given.
all Art connects anyways, like we all connected,  energies, spirits, and winds.

drops of rain, sunshine and cloudy.

remember the We All Country selection previously posted?

the first number from Linda is a connection, written by the Stones and performed by a Murican.
so for example a collaboration between Eric burden and Motown artists reflects the spirit of what this thread is all about.

sharing music, art, life’s lessons—-just some basic cooperation through thick and thin, good times or bad, sticking together like it’s done in Murica.

I agree o3b, Born to be Wild is a kind of outlaw song, although it really just is expressing the joy of the open road with a little freedom. Funny that is thought of as outlaw by so many.

to my jersey, New York and philly friends.

ok, we could call it non-conformist, anti-establishment along with bending but hopefully not breaking fair laws.
