Zhong Yuan Qigong question

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I started practicig Zhong Yuan Qigong (Master Migtang Xu), I live in Hungary, so He is not my master. But thats not the point.

I read the first book, and one of the main practices is the microcosmic orbit. In that part of the book He says, that for a professional practice you have to stop having sex for a 100 days, so no hormones and semen is lost.

My question is, does practicing semen retention alone and the big draw count as sex, and do I lose energy or hormones? Also when I do the big draw, a tiny bit of transparent fluid comes out, I know that's the fluid of the prostate that helps the semen to move. Do I loose hormones or semen with this fluid?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Depends on the system.

Mantak Chia =No.

More specialised methods =Yes, because you have already materialised your desire.

You lose yuan jing.

Go to the "Grotto", all sexual threads are there.

Thank for the fast answer. :)

Yep, I do the Mantak Chia method.

If I loose yuan jing (original essence?), does it drastically slow down the opening of the third eye, ear and second heart?

And with the big draw, I also generating some energy, yang energy if I remember correctly. Or am I mistaken?

The big draw is a really harmful (made-up) practice.

Losing Jing starts with sexualised thought - it’s lost to a greater extent at the moment of orgasm.

The big draw doesn’t stop this loss. If you do it ‘right’ just takes the ‘turbid water’ - sexualised essence up to the heart and over time damages your psyche and ‘taints the heart’ - this often results in deviant sexual desires and eventually behaviour. If you do it ‘wrong’ you simply build tension and lose Qi (a far better result to be honest)

Million dollar point creates more physical issues. Many people are irreversibly damaged by this practice (including the constant leaking of seminal fluid into the bladder over time)...

Chia has done a great disservice and damaged many people with his information.

I’d recommend avoiding using any of his material.

Yuan Jing is useful in spiritual work, if that is what you mean.

But some people does well operating with post heaven qi, so I don't know.

Yes, but in the context of 100 days of celibacy, it is not what you are supposed to do. That comes from Nei Dan traditions, lets say that when it comes to that, Chia is accessible but (ah, you'll find out for yourself).

You will have better result if you abstein from desire, stress and stimulants.

Mantak Chia does not have a big fangroup here as I see. :D

Well I guess it's easier to do the celibacy in cold weather, because in summer all you see is boing-boing. :D

I don't want a girlfriend right now, but is there something that I can do, when the sexual instinct "says hello, I'm here"?

I can't live in a cave and I work at a computer on the internet, and there is a lot of sexual content. So how do you stop or calm the desire? I thought Chias method was a solution because I don't loose semen, but I was wrong.

That is usually a part of "proper practice", meaning that in most traditional systems this is built in.

I think that this is where the (on the TDB) much used advice "find a teacher" comes in.

It is not hard, it is not really advanced (at least not the first stage) but it takes some practice to make it work.

A little bit to much information to post though.

Just be moderate in sexual activity. Avoid pornography.

Remember that this stuff (alchemy, meditation, spiritual cultivation) is not an easy thing to achieve.

It’s very much the pinnacle of human achievement. Despite what many modern teachers suggest. They have a profit motive :)

You know how you see the discipline and sacrifice it takes to be an Olympian? It’s similar with these more advanced arts.

Its normal to be inspired by Olympians and be motivated to exercise for a bit every week and have a moderate, healthy lifestyle... but don’t expect to win gold at the olympics.

I get that this might sound disheartening or demotivating... but I personally think it’s better to hear the truth than to be sold a dream that just wastes your time - or worse.

If you want to live a normal life, have late nights, drink, smoke weed, watch porn, see other humans as ‘boing-boing‘ etc... then just do that and enjoy yourself... maybe practice some simple qigong or martial arts, get strong, develop some self discipline etc. This is a great start.

At some stage in your life maybe you’ll be ready to get into the more in-depth practices like alchemy, MCO, meditation etc. These things are simply not for everyone - just as being an olympic swimmer is not for everyone.

Doing these things before you and your lifestyle are ready means that your lifestyle suffers and your practice is not only ineffective but potentially dangerous!

We regularly get people coming to this forum that have developed really serious issues - mental and physical from doing Chia’s practices (and from other similar teachers).

Okay, I get it, thanks for the advice. :)

I somehow feel like I am in a river right now. On one side is the life I had till now, and it draws me back sometimes, and the other side is the Daoism. I was always the "middle road" type trying to find balance in everything I do. I never used drugs, I don't smoke, but I liked to go drinking sometimes with friends, and I liked to have sex, went to the gym etc. But well, I will eventualy get to the „place” where I belong. Before a year I didn’t even know that daoism exists, and today I am practicing qigong. I was always the patient type, so I have no problem with waiting.  :) Life will send me signs, I just have to notice them.

You can practice qigong for years before you need to decide if you want to take the step of the 100 days.

All levels are fun and useful to explore.
