Peaches and plums

Recommended Posts

Peaches and plums benefit bums.

Stone fruit, ya better get some.

Tis the season, summertime!

I just finished off a plate of delectable sweet red cherries. Not sure what else I will accomplish today, but if I do nothing else, I'd judge this day a success.

I'm sitting here stoned on the fruit, mon.

Life tastes delicious,,,,,

Avocado!

Not so fast, to my surprise, which is no surprise, avocado is not stone fruit. Not a drupe. Avocado is a berry. Its wonderful that whatever ruling forces came up with these things, like drupes, can actually dupe some of us sometimes.

Oh Nature, you have a playful, tricky side !

Fruits and  berries are good for us.

However, like qigong, there is no one size fits all. We have varieties to choose from. And each of us likely have a particular choice we should avoid.

The avocado, and I love me some guacamole, is not advised to be consumed by those with kidney ailments.

Peach talk brings back memories.

Summer 2019. Vermont, USA. Hosts had a vegetable garden and a peach tree.

Breakfast: Ripe peaches on rustic toast. (The hostesses' favorite!) Slightly charred greens with garlic. And eggs. Tea with local honey.

Trader Joe had dried apricots, big half fruit pieces.  Not too sweet, leathery w/ a good bite and reminiscent of summer.  No refrigeration, always at the ready, waiting for a grab.
