Manifesting a wrathful compassion that no longer favours humans, the ball is firmly in the grip of Mother Nature. For now.

To be honest, I'm not confident she wants this supposedly most evolved species in the game for quite a while, until maybe... maybe...  she's satisfied this new blood pact to behave will be adhered to.

If this were some divine wrath manifested against humanity’s destructiveness then the majority of victims would be rich people and politicians. Thinking ecological problems can be solved by a mass die-off of ordinary people is what leads us to eco-fascism.

It would be an interesting twist, if coronavirus were to sweep through the aged population of those presently in power, setting the stage for a new dynamic to arise.

One can dream, right?

His persistent insistence on calling it the Chinese Virus is another pointer to his evilness. It appears to me that he is attempting to set the stage for something that could potentially be even more deadly that covid 19. All the signs are beginning to appear indicating his desperation & impatience & ego deflation at being hampered by something many times bigger than him & one which he has no control over. This frustration most likely will overwhelm him. Before he goes under, imo he will use any means at his disposal to show the world (basically his world means his base) how tremendous he remains in the midst of this catastrophe by provoking a more tangible enemy ie China. #warpresident.

The Pentagon announced a successful flight of a hypersonic missile. From what I understand there are no defenses against such a weapon. Will Trump take advantage of this new development?

Martyrs of what? Old age and disease? There would be no one to blame - except perhaps their own incompetence in the implementation of a testing policy leading to identification and isolation of cases of infection.

Edit to add, thanks for the well presented and considerate disagreement.

I hope thats just a poker strategy, some sort of showboating manoeuver.

Would he use it if they really had this missile ready-tested and primed?

That would depend on how hurt his ego becomes, I guess.

I mean, here's a man who's got zero capacity to align with reality.

I generally like to put more heart into my pragmatism than Alinsky.  But,  it is going to depend on, how much of a war you consider yourself in.

Saul Alinsky’s 13 Rules for Radicals

Excerpted from Saul Alinsky’s book: Rules For Radicals, published in 1971.

1. “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.“ Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.

2. “Never go outside the expertise of your people.“ It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.

3. “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.“ Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.

4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.“ If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.

5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.“ There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

6. “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.“ They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.

7. “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.“ Don’t become old news.

8. “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.“ Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.

9. “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.“ Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.

10.“The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.” It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.

11. “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.“ Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.

12. “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.“ Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.

13. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.“ Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

Saul Alinsky’s 11 Rules on the Ethics of Means and Ends

Excerpted from Saul Alinsky’s book: Rules For Radicals, published in 1971.

1. “One’s concern with the ethics of means and ends varies inversely with one’s personal interest in the issue.”

2. “The judgment of the ethics of means is dependent upon the political position of those sitting in judgment.”

3. “In war the ends justify almost any means.”

4. “Judgment must be made in the context of the times in which the action occurred and not from any other chronological vantage point.”

5. “Concern with ethics increases with the number of means available and vice versa.”

6. “The less important the end to be desired, the more one can afford to engage in ethical evaluations of means.”

7. “Generally success or failure is a might determinant of ethics.”

8. “Morality of a means depends upon whether the means is being employed at a time of imminent defeat or imminent victory.”

9. “Any effective means is automatically judged by the opposition as being unethical.”

10. “You do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral garments.”

11. “Goals must be phrased in general terms like ‘Liberty, Equality, Fraternity,’ ‘Of the Common Welfare,’ ‘Pursuit of Happiness,’ or ‘Bread and Peace.'”

I’m not sure why anyone thinks this is important... US enemies including Iran and North Korea already have a range of missiles that are unstoppable. Which is why a full blown war with either country would be an all-around disaster.

Because Trump has the nuclear launch codes which is why! He is a madman!

https://www.cnbc.com/2016/08/03/trump-asks-why-us-cant-use-nukes-msnbcs-joe-scarborough-reports.html

Quote

Donald Trump asked a foreign policy expert advising him why the U.S. can’t use nuclear weapons, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said on the air Wednesday, citing an unnamed source who claimed he had spoken with the GOP presidential nominee.

“Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on the international level went to advise Donald Trump. And three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can’t we use them,” Scarborough said on his “Morning Joe” program.

Scarborough made the Trump comments 52 seconds into an interview with former Director of Central Intelligence and ex-National Security Agency Director Michael Hayden.

Funny to me how the “social distancing” etc is being relentlessly hammered into everyone’s heads yet, they are able to hold White House briefings with 50-60 media members all with the Vice President admitting he’s been exposed to the virus.  Something doesn’t add up.

I did. Your panic is misplaced. Not that men like Trump aren’t dangerous but the missiles we already had were dangerous. There is no effective defense against ballistic and cruise missiles of any speed, hypersonic or not. Saudi Arabia has an extremely expensive US-made missile defense system but the Houthis were able to hit them just the same with cruise missiles.

that is a good understanding of where trump may go, being that he is a rabid and self justified madman with his back against the wall!

After the depths already revealed, i can't imagine what 45  will try and get away with in the remaining months of his time in the seat... whenever, however he goes out, it's likely to be historically bad, even by current redonkulous common denominator standards...

Already his daily press conferences are a chaotic disaster to say the least. I don't watch this daily fiasco, but have seen a few clips.

"fear is the mind killer"  from Dune I believe?  He might be able to hold off an election by starting a major and very deadly war that is how far he could go...we hope not!!

Yes

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.“

There was a time I had that memorized.

I remember once intoning that like a mantra while getting a root canal. There was pain because the doc had trouble anesthetising the tooth. It really helped!
