Jim (Marblehead) crossed over the line on 8 December...

Funny that you selected that particular song.  Marbles recorded a bunch of his favorite music on several CD discs for me - he loved the old stuff - big band, stuff from the 50's and 60's.  'Goodbye Jimmy, Goodbye' was one of the songs on the CD.

I just brought in a roommate to live with me.  He's a wonderful guy (not a romantic interest, he bats for the other team) but right now he's very scattered, with selling his house and moving in here.  I told him that he reminds me of 6 marbles rolling around in a bowl.  I have taken to calling him Marbles, as I always did Jim.  So, in a sense, Marbles is currently living in a desert in California.

Yes, let's raise a glass to the first anniversary of his death.  What a fine fellow.

Gambei !

(I'd love to know why you call him Dada-Da.  I'm sure there'a good story under it)

Yes - still miss him. But that's the way it goes: people come and go, until it's our own time to leave. We too often take it for granted that we're still alive. Better make the best of it, because it can be over before you realize it.

I still miss him too. Saw a thread resurrected with where he’d posted something funny right at the start, for a moment i forgot it’s 2019 and lived in the years he was here.

Still spontaneously notice a Marblehead-ish proximity every now and then, giving him an extra thought and just knowing things are fine in the end.

Thanks for posting this guys, best of wishes and warmth to all.

Hi Rocky,

Just a thin line of separation...?

I think so yes. Or even not so much separation after all, just a shift in percievability or something. I’m sure he’s keeping busy either way!

i'm struck so wholly to the core

when a loved one passes

along with the hole left in their passing

is piercing gratitude

gobsmacking gratitude

because all about me i see this one reality

and it centers on me, this little speck

and my heart expands and my mind goes blank

with the magnitude of it...

that out of all the spinning galaxies...

out of all the combinations of energies

from the remnants of a supernova

i got to meet them.

that i had the fortune to get to know them... what treasure!

then to have had the fortune to share time, to share deep conversation, myriad ideas, realizations and more than a few belly laughs...

to get to know them...

to count them friend...

such treasure as this!

miss you dearly my friend.

recall you fondly and often...

and so deeply grateful, to be able to miss you

for having known you, was to expand what i know of me

Hi Creighton,

miss you dearly my friend.

from beginning till the end.

recall you fondly and often...

when i feel sadly... orphaned

and so deeply grateful, to be able to miss you

i'm struck so wholly to the core to you and you

for having known you, was to expand what i know of me

because all about me i see this one reality of you and be

Hi Jim,

Thank you.

I am back principally to post the remembrance for Marblehead... and I am touched by his residence in the hearts of those who had responded thus far.

Very nice for me to feel these...

Peace Bro peace.

I didn't know Marbs like a lot of the longtime members did, but I always loved his presence on this forum. Whether he really had something to say, or he was just singin' for the sake of the song, he contributed a whole lot to this page.

I know that he really loved chuang tzu, so..

O Marbleberry gate, How Could you?

O Marbleberry gate, How Could you?

Already back in your true form,

You've left us here in the Human!

Hi kyoji,

I cannot recall if our paths had crossed before but...

O Marbleberry gate, How could you?

O Marbleberry gate, How could you?

O Marblemerry mate, How should we?

O Marblemerry mate, How should we?

Already back in your true form,

Welcome back in every norm,

You've left us in the Human!

Now returned to all - (wo)men!

Jim was involved in the Korean War ~ knowing this, I downloaded Arirang for him at TDB.

But the version I had for him then was not what Jim had in mind - and he had it indicated so.

I tried again and bingo!

Jim like(s/d) this version...
