Damo 12 fist set???

Recommended Posts

I found this set in a book I have, the explanation isn't all that detailed, the set looks pretty static all done with clenched fists, it's part of the yi jin jing or a variation of that.. Is anyone familiar with it.. Ive seen it also under the name of sinew metamorphosis..

Do the postures look anything like this?

I used to do a Damo qigong except with open hands instead of or in addition to fists. I'm thinking it might be a similar or less intense / entry level. It also static, starting from a stillness pose, hands resting in lap. Then progress to an intermediate movement, with hands raised near chest level. Finally an active movement of holding a maximum extension for as long as it takes until fatigued. Always recover in the intermediate movement before changing to a different active pose, or to stillness.

The basic process is detailed here: http://taoiststudy.com/qigong_practice/free-qigong-course-part-one
