Are there any other leftists here? 👀

The original post was like a bong full of fresh air!

3 pages of “Ignore Users”

has made much of the muck palatable.

I am far to the left of the conservative Democrats and who and what “Republicans” are at this point resembles godless fundamentalists and ball-less air head mafia cupcake pushers with projectiles.

It has been unseemly to see such exuberant mushrooms from the right

in such numbers here - but - the light still shines in so many places that it is indeed worth visiting even if less often and in less depth.

Thank you Sean!

Well, capitalism and fascism are right-wing and we've all seen how ruthlessly authoritarian and murderous those ideologies can be.

Fascism isn't right wing despite what many claim or where they categorise it.

It has many left wing elements built in it. Hitler became a favorite of the working class in Germany and it helped him rise to power.

Also note that Nazi=national socialist.

And Nazis made extensive campaigns against the "plutocrats".

Many of their social beliefs if viewed in an ideological vacuum would resemble socialist ideals to the americans of today.

PS i am not advocating fascism or nazism just playing devil's advocate.

Rich!  I remember you from Yamu's qigong class in Springfield MO.  And, of course, your gorgeous blue eyes. I hope you're doing well!  And Sean! you were there too!  So nice to see you posting again!  Big hugs to you both.

<snip>

Other than that, things are going swimmingly.

Hi Manitou!

Yes, I remember my weekend in Springfield very well. The S-M energy still kicks in even now when I'm sitting, and I'll occasionally have a go at Ya Mu's Gift of the Tao - the world's scruffiest movement form, yet quite potent.

Love your endlessly soulful compassionate posts. Be well.

I would like to address two misconceptions with your post.

The first misconception is that there is an eastern and western mo pai. That what we have is somehow different from what the Indonesian students have. If you were Chinese and were accepted into the school in Indonesia, you would in fact learn the exact same practices, the only difference being is that you could continue to level three and beyond with them.

The second misconception is that we are teachers.  We are no more teachers than Wikipedia or YouTube are.  Jim, Kosta, and John are teachers, and we merely preserve their teachings without alteration, and assist serious individuals interested in pursuing this.

In regards to "which responses", a typical discussion on mo pai goes something like this: "John Chang was a fraud, the researchers were in on the hoax, Jim and Kosta misunderstood the teachings, Jim got sick with cancer due to mo pai, etc. etc."  We respond with the best evidence we have as well as what we consider to be sound arguments that debunk all of that.  However all of that is completely ignored and the other parties begin repeating their mantra.  We try our best to be polite and remain patient and hope that one day perhaps they will actually examine what we say, rather than skimming, ignoring and repeating. That is the best we can do.

Wrong thread. ;)

Yes, one way of looking at it is as a mix of both. It was advertised as the "third way" a century ago.

Dumb: "The Nazis had the word 'Socialist' in their party name, therefore their agenda was also socialist!"

Dumber: "People who oppose and fight Nazis and white nationalists are also the Nazis!! "

Fellas, these are far-right talking points and excruciatingly idiotic examples of the bullshit I avoid engaging in anymore.

They're such stunningly false, historically and philosophically oblivious statements easily corrected by even a cursory study that it's difficult for me to imagine motives other than willful ignorance or worse.

Sorry, but the first statement is like a child seeing the word "Republican" in "Irish Republican Army" and confidently asserting that this means they must be ideologically related to the U.S. Republican Party.

The second is like a deranged sociopath saying that victims of rape that fight back are as bad as rapists.

As founder of this space I'd like to personally invite members committed to the latter conflation in particular, and far-right politics in general, to just leave this forum. You're not welcome here anymore.

Once the Right bashing is over, I hope it dies down, leaves the site, Left and Right.

I understand it's pent up, but it's also nasty and derogatory to our fellow members.

Maybe for awhile, keep it on ideas And keep it positive.

We're already aware of the lines. Now let's erase them and make an effort to be positive about our own platforms and stop the dozens or hundreds of pages of insulting the other side.

It was Jonah Goldberg that started this revisionist right wing drivel in which naive persons who don’t bother to read or question buy into propaganda.

This is not “right bashing”

It is a bit like stating with clarity and certainty that Trump is clearly mentally ill - which he clearly is - not bashing - simply clearly clinically evident and correct.

I am not far right by any stretch. And what Nazis did for the working class is fact not fiction. Plus they were called the "third way" because they espoused neither capitalism nor communism.

I told you before that right and left aren't the same across the globe.

I dare you to find the section where i mentioned this. I never claimed that they were left. I claimed that they integrated socialist policies in their programs.

I only said they weren't exactly far right. They were nor, neither. Fascism is it's own thing.

Never mind. It was a misunderstanding.

All is cleared.

Peace

I have been a political outsider from age 10, I suspect according to 'charts and graphs' that I am so far left, I'm perhaps not represented on the scale.

In 1979, I was 10 when Reagan ran against Carter, the temperment of the adults around me cut through my child's mind fog and peaked my interest in politics and how it works and my Father took the time to explain the americo electoral process, federal vs local election systems and actual Democracy vs Representative Democracy.  He also delved a bit into Oligarchy and Corporate/Special Interests Lobbying influence of the ruling class.

One afternoon at age 17, I had the incredible fortune to have a few hour meeting with an Uncle (ex-CIA operative) who'd been in hiding in Europe since the year before I was born.  In that conversation he peeled back the veil of innocence completely and from his unique perspective, I was forever inducted into the process behind the veil that is often not pierced.  This prompted a decade of seeking out his writings (that were responsible for his needing to hide for nearly two decades and led to his murder a few months after his return to the US and our conversation).  It led to the obsessive study of alternate American history and an in depth trudge through the swamp of the establishment of the Federal Reserve Bank and of the Military Industrial Complex.

I did get active within the system on a local level through my 20's and 30's.  Though lately, last 10 years or so, I've retreated wholly into focusing on healing within.

It's been an endurance test to remain active here at the bums since the avalanche of unveiled rightism, xenophobia and misogony that came with the 2016 reveal of the current american landscape.  I was gob-smacked at the unveiling of the depth and breadth of vitriol, misogony, xenophobia, anti-lgbtq, anti-social/welfare net support here.  It prompted several sabbaticals.  Spotless put it perfectly... sean, your return is like a bongful of fresh air.

And speaking of fresh air...  After adding my voice to this revelatory thread, I'm off to Black Mountain with my son for retreat in the woods.

Peace.

Creighton

ps.  in a way, I'm nauseously grateful for Trump.  For if one does not know that one is ill, one does not seek treatment.

Perhaps treatment is possible.

Just in case you didn't understand the premises of this thread.

He clearly stated this thread was for one-sided thinking and not for any meaningful debate. So if you dont align with one sided "Socialism is Perfect" thinking then you are clearly stupid and don't have any real world knowledge or historical insight. Please dont mention economics here. Of course implementations in China (mass starvation 15-30 million), Russia (mass starvation), and Venezuela (starvation/currency degradation)  have no actual relationship with real socialism and should be ignored. Trump is to be regarded as mentally ill and his widespread positive economic boons under his leadership are "continuations" and are hurting people not helping people.

Of course, the USA becoming more environmentally sustainable under Trump than it was previously is unthinkable because capitalism could never evolve naturally without government having to direct it and impede it. Lao Tzu's ideas about allowing human's innate good nature to flourish is to be ignored because good nature must be forced into direction by government.

Okay.  I think the place has quieted down.

Here's my question.  Can anybody tell me why we can't diagnose this obviously mentally sick man  out of office?
