Ahh, yes. So true. However, 24 months of the opposition party screaming the President was an agent of Russia is perfectly fine.

Just pick some that are real. All you did was dance around a subject without providing anything other than allegation.

Real? They're all real, depending on who's looking where :)

"I believe that what this president has done to our culture, to our civic discourse ... you cannot unring these bells and you cannot unsay what he has said, and you cannot change that he has now in a very short time made it seem normal for schoolboy taunts and obvious lies to be spun out in a constant stream.  I think this will do more lasting damage than Richard Nixon's surreptitious burglaries did."

The situation in the US is like that of a battered wife in an abusive relationship. Trump is the battered wife and the media are the husband. Every time Trump says anything he is mercilessly battered, all the while the husband, e.g. media are screaming "look at what you made me do!"

It's sick. It's very sick. But amazingly Trump not only won't shut up, but also won't capitulate. That, above all else, is what makes him so horrible to the left.

The Powerline blog claimed in an investigative report published Thursday that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) not only married her brother, but also received asylum as a child after her family used a false name.

That's what really chaps the left's hide.

All you have to do to “mercilessly batter” Trump is to just show what he says and does.  The worst insults to him are his own words and actions.  And so ...

Video recording (or any other reliable record of events) is his basic nemesis.

... and he’s a con man and feeble minded chumps/devotees are many, so all he has to do is chant “fake news” and the willfully blind follow along.

Merely describing him accurately brings us quickly into areas that would normally be vicious hyperbole grotesque obscene immoral slander.  Areas of verbal expression that the more refined are loath to participate in by even saying what is the blatantly obvious behavior of this vile antithesis of a human being.  So, yeah.  Secondary nemesis of djt: accurate description by others.

No. Not true.

He's not a con man. He is a business man, and in business, particularly during negotiations, it is necessary to establish a sense of urgency by saying and/or doing things that add pressure to the situation, thus forcing a resolution. For example, a CEO may threaten to walk away from a deal if a specific, outrageous concession is not met. This is not done to get the concession per-se, but to force the counter party to scramble for an alternate, or lesser, concession which was the objective all along. Trump is taking this mode of thinking to politics by making outrageous demands (such as the tariffs on China) then using those demands to leverage his actual desires.

He's not feeble minded. Look at what he has achieved. He has made billions of dollars, gone bankrupt, then made billions more. He has created an international development empire, become a reality TV mogul, and won the US presidency out from the under the noses of the political elites. As president, he has lowered taxes, reduced regulations, and grown the economy to unprecedented levels. He is negotiating with China, and with North Korea. He has rebuilt the military and is securing the southern border. He has appointed two Supreme Court justices and hundreds of lower court justices, in the process bringing Constitutionalism back the courts. He is breaking the backs of the entrenched Washington bureaucracy, returning power back to the people where it belongs. And he is doing this against a constant barrage of hatred and resistance from the left, meaning from Democrats, media, entertainment and academia.

And you call me "willfully blind?" Open your eyes, man! You are being used.

Amazing how a feeble minded person can defeat the GOP, DNC, FBI, CIA, MSM, and every other entity that has tried to destroy him.

Defeat? What you are calling defeat is tyrannical! He is not a king as you and millions of Trump sycophants think he is.

You’re parsing my sentence incorrectly.

For clarity, Separated the phrases and bolded the portions that apply to (many of) his followers.

The many ”feeble minded chumps/devotees” are his “willfully blind” followers.

A tyrant would never allow himself to be publicly treated the way the left is treating Trump. By definition, he is not tyrannical.

Wrong! The other member suggests that Trump has defeated the FBI and CIA, is advocating an overthrow of a major branch of government. That is not Trump's job to destroy the government. What part of what I wrote don't you understand?

I suggest going back and reading history/political theory for starters.

An English lesson is in order.

synonyms:

dictatorial, despotic, autocratic, oppressive, repressive, fascistic, tyrannous, absolute, totalitarian

arbitrary, undemocratic, antidemocratic,

 illiberal;

characteristic of tyranny; oppressive and controlling.

I doubt he defeated anything other than some of his supporters' ability to know right from wrong before he came onto the scene. Have to give it to the guy for his knack of muddying the swamp and then act all saviour-like, as if on a vital mission that nobody before him dared assume. That'll keep the rest of his crew busy for a while i guess.... And now a large swathe of his base hopped on the crusade against imagined entities that he daily reminds these people are responsible for all their plight and past misfortunes. Say it often enough and some of it bound to stick. That storyline definitely sells. If he's a businessman, thats 2/5 thinking. Even my young nephew knows that ploy well.

If this was your point, you should have been more explicit in your earlier comment. That said, I think you often "play dumb" by taking some things completely literally. This is a good example of that.

That is an insult/ad hominem. Further, with the extremists that post here and online, I never will give the benefit of the doubt or read between the lines. You write it and are responsible for the content. Words matter!

Trump doesn't speak in the most compassionate manner, but his policies make more sense than his opponents who are preaching naive socialist measures.

Lets look at what his democrat opponents are offering: Higher taxes, we prefer people who are illegally here over people who come here legally, we prefer both of those groups over people native born, and war with Russia.

This is why Trump will most likely be reelected. It's also why democratic nominee Hickenlooper says in the democratic debates that the democrats need to change their stances or they have no chance vs Trump 2020.

I did not say you were dumb. I said you pretend to be dumb. That is exactly what you are doing right now.

So is anyone who believes in common decency and some level of morality a member of "the left" now? I thought those values are meant to be the the backbone of the Republican Party? Looks like everything has gone backwards or upside down

I’m not sure which way to read your post.  (?).

(And people are so divided in this thread, it could be either... )

Those “who believes in common decency and some level of morality”...

Are you saying there are none in the GOP?, or none in the Democratic party?

... or something more complex that I’ve not guessed?

No. The left is still the party of Sodom and Gomorrah.

The left is the party of grievance. They pretend to be dumb, which allows them to take everything literally - no metaphor, allegory, or embellishment allowed. This, in turn, allows them to take umbrage - to be offended. And that fuels their rage machine.

I'm saying that the Republican Party have sold their soul , they have given up even any attempt at maintaining any principal for a bit of power

Also that there is so little room for nuiance that if anyone stands up for basic morality a large proportion of people immediately label them leftist.
