Year of the Pig

Recommended Posts

Looks like Sean got the banner up just in time :)

Chinese New Year 2019 is observed Feb. 4-10th.

Yesterday, my wife asked me, why are you cleaning the house... I said, no reason.  She said this is common to do before Chinese New Years starts.     I wanted to ask if that means I only have to clean once a year :D

Any words for what we can expect this year ?

This is 8 Soil Year in 9 Palaces astrology.

Mountain.

Time to accumulate and build up.

After all the flaming and burning in the 9 Fire year we just had.

I really don't like that brown pig that has appeared.  It is ugly and out of place on the home page.  Is this a sign?

I went to the store yesterday to stock up on supplies, but the only thing left on sale was bacon …. I should have consulted the calendar :P Happy New Year, Bummers!

It disturbs me as well and to be honest I'm not sleeping well since it's appeared!

This would be much better:

Sean called it a 'wild pig'... simply reminds me of the TV show Lost where they were hunting these guys on the island

yeah I would call it a wild boar - I realise we must have a pig - but why that ugly big brown thing?  It looks completely out of place on the home page.

In a follow up to Sean, he agrees this is a wild boar seemed to fit for an earth pig and tried to play with the colors a bit but said 'this passionate pig keeps telling me that it's happy and proud and wants to be appreciated as is'.  ;)

Same same - yuk! A cross between a prehistoric boar and a rat?

since some members had problem sleeping, may I be so bold to suggest a slightly edited banner, with a pink pig (or boar?) instead of this one :)

Hope you like it!

THE DAO BOARS

What's also neat is see the Chinese text under the site title (道家學說) the second char, meaning school or family, contains a word for piggies 豕

Hi Ninny,

Very good. Respectful linkage of Chinese 'pig' character  to family...

Thank you.
