My origins are Pakistani but I was born in the UK. My teachers come from many different backgrounds, but mostly Turkish. In our tariqat we have masters from allover the world.

On your question regarding learning, and keeping it..

The question was general , not for me specifically  ( I feel I am finally good with this) , but for many people they are caught in a cycle of 'not learning' . yet some learn quickly and retain and implement certain knowledge to improve their life.

As a teen  MANY years ago I read an Idres Shah book 'Learning How to Learn' .  This stimulated my interest in the matter, and more and more, as time goes on, I realise what an important and central precept this is .

I can only say refine your path and keep refining, we are in the age of information we have plenty to read but I would say to myself first and then to you, to do a inner heart throw out like spring cleaning haha and only keep those things which carry you to your destination my master once said " be like a motorbike, it requires a small amount of fuel but still takes you to your destination"

Hmmm ... I am wondering if you are referring to a practice I did for some time ?  I used to do a ritual 4 times a day ( dawn, noon, sunset, midnight ) , it had many components  ( 'body mudra' , incantations, visualisations, internal energy  adjustments and other things ) but one part was left 'open' to perform whatever meditation was designated at that time . At this stage  of my development, and in this  part of the ritual ,  I would hold my hands open on my chest making a triangle  with thumbs and index fingers , while breathing in and then breath out and fling the arms out, palms out and exhale  " CHA!"  (or was it HA! ) , then breath in and make the triangle again and so on.

Is this something like you are referring to ?

Refine and throw refine and throw,

I used to put it as , 'seek the gold' , yes , sometimes it seems like one is in a crucible , but what is being burnt off is the dross, do not be attached to that, it is a false 'you' .... seek the gold you are becoming .  It is a 'great art' .

there's too many stalls open now in this spiritual marketplace, one stall for inner knowledge hermetics, sufism, Buddhism etc etc stalls for elixirs, crystal healing, should I work on Japanese hara or maybe work on the 3 dantiens, should I work on ritual etc etc

Valid tools and also 'snake oil' , its the 'way of the world' .  Regarding what one 'should do' , what path , I have been asked about this a few times. My view on it is to choose a path that you can relate to via it being associated with the environment you live in,  and / or ones ancestry. Avoid fads and fashions, that attract using 'glamour' .

Now there is word and a process that has captured many a seeker !

" an attractive or exciting quality that makes certain people or things seem appealing.

" ...synonyms: allure, attraction, attractiveness, fascination, charm, enchantment, captivation, magic, romance, mystique, exoticism, spell;

early 18th century (originally Scots in the sense ‘enchantment, magic’): alteration of grammar. Although grammar itself was not used in this sense, the Latin word grammatica (from which it derives) was often used in the Middle Ages to mean ‘scholarship, learning’, including the occult practices popularly associated with learning. )  "

etc we are in a time of information so I would say refine and keep those tools like a small survival knife which has all the tools you need which fit in your hand and pocket. Hope these words hit your heart. 🙏

Yes.  They resonate as I can see through the different outward clothing and metaphors to what they are actually talking about  ( I hope :D

Regarding tools, there are magical tools and weapons ; elemental,

planetary zodiacal and archetypal .

Yet one must be able to function without their physical counterpart. A bit like martial arts  ( I study and practice a variety of those weapons too) .  Their 'function' must be incorporated into the psyche .  In magic though  perhaps tools is a better term .

@Zen Pig

Yes there are many fakes out there, but god has given us something within our soul and intellect to feel what's real and what's not, it's our own scanning system.

I don't think I would ever fall for someone who asks for money or semen haha, my spiritual journey is very clear to me it's like my inner dowsing.🙏

Yes find a teacher/guide is rare, so keep practising and keep asking in your heart and they'll find you.

The prophet muhammad once said “If one of you loses his animal or his camel in a deserted land where there is no-one in sight, let him say: “O servants of Allah, help me! (ya `ibad Allah a`iynunee), for verily he will be helped.”

In our tradition these masters are known as rijalallah (men of god) they belong to the unknown ranks of awliya/saints/sages some say they are 4,000 in number but god knows best and they travel freely through time and space distance isn't an issue for them they can help anyone belonging to any faith or no faith or background etc it doesn't matter.😊

Also in our tradition anyone above us we say our master or guide out of respect.

Masters who guard these knowledges are angels, humans and another class of beings quiet different. This knowledge gets given through deep meditations and inner journeying within, huge libraries may open up and you may see the guardians of these places/world's. It's beyond our dimension altogether and more real you don't find tricksters on that side.

And this is as far I can say really🙏

Yes indeed.  I have had a few experiences, in the forest meditating that I will not go into, as they are mine.  But the universe is much bigger and fuller of life than we know. thanks for the comments.

Thanks for being a mirror for me🙏

I wish to take a break also from here due to these same reasons of sharing out things which belong to me.

Thanks 😊

'belong to you'

Everything I got, I got from somewhere else.  Some got modified . I might see far but my effort was climbing up on to the shoulders of others to see a better view .

I dont really  'own'  nuthin .

so true, but we use words.  We say, "I did this yesterday". or Can you make this happen.... and on and on.  I went through the whole neo non duality shit, that even tried to change the way we talked.  Nothing wrong with this and good luck with that, but in the end, I had to come full circle. back to life, family, hunger, love, pain, the whole ball of wax.  If someone does not want to share something, I now say, ok, fine. who gives a bloody rats ass?  But in the end you are not wrong. different sides to the same coin.  :)

Discussion with friend who was going OS on a paid ticket  (but she was broke and had no fun  {spending}  money) about me lending her $1000  ;  we wrote out a repayment agreement , then she starts listing all the things , in her mind, she believes she GAVE to me in the recent past.

Me :  : "And .... so what ? "

Her;  " What do you mean , so what ? "

Me;  "  Well where they gifts , or not ?  Are you taking them back, do you want credit for them, exchange them for this money, why bring it up now ?

Her " Well, I just hope you remember all that when it comes time to pay you back ? '

!   Me : " Are you now saying you might not be able to make the payments ?"

Her :  "  Blah blah blah ....

Jesus Christ !  I just gave her the grand and told her to forget about it and have a nice trip.

people and they 'gifts'  and  ownerships   !

(Actually, I just remembered !  Same woman years ago, a dispute about her paying back a loan, I said pay whatever,  money not worth an argument between friends, she gave me a 50 , so I bought a lotto with it and won $480    :D  )

Everything I do  ACTUALLY own , I take to the 'afterlife'  with me .  ;)

One of my favourite Sufi songs, comes with a practice.

Good background track to meditate upon the Muhammadan Reality within. Start with eyes closed in a dark room, focus your attention on breathing, notice how fast or slow you're breathing, contemplate on the verse "And know that the Messenger of God is within in you" [49:7], visualize the center of Prophet’s power, energy and existence within your heart, which emanates an aura of light around you.

And this is my favourite Sufi song, it is so joyful and divine.   Sufism is a beautiful and wonderful path with music and poetry, makes everyone else look like sad misers who just don't get.   Even if you own the world and all it's enlightenment and power, what would it profit you ?   Nothing !   Nothing !

The title seems to come from the Muslim scripture, a message to Muhammed that he was sent only to heal the whole world.   And the lyrics something like, what can I do about the world, I am suffering .... follow me, follow me, follow me.

And this is true, nothing can be done here, follow the light and its messengers, that is all.

Those who trust, will be trusted.
