Guess This Song

Recommended Posts

I sort of just guessed after a while, there is too much other audio to process, drums, ect.

Would any other bums happen to have a guitar? If so, please post an audio clip here of you playing, and I'll post the notes that you have played.

I tried guessing, but my mind kept going through the grunge scene, or at least era.

Want to try another?

Ouch, took me four hours, for the simple audio in this post. Here is the beginning to one song

guess.pdf

guess.wav

I messed up the pdf, It should say 1 /4 of a second (just forgot the make that change, until I just looked at it.)

Here is the beginning of another song to guess

guess_2.pdf

guess_2.wav

sample.m4a

Will this work?

For the other guesses I can't put my finger on it. Can you give a hint, like what band it's from?

#1 maybe Weezer or Nirvana

#2 Alice in Chains? I can't tell.

For me #1 kept correlating to Three Dog Night.

Sample.M4a Reminds me of blue grass or something rockabilly for some reason.

I picked rather obscure songs

Thanks Nintendao! Here is #1

I was trying to play just the intro, about the first 20 seconds or so.

After redoing #2, I think that it sounds more like this, I just played it slow:

I'll process that sample now, and have a pdf file up in a bit.

51 Minutes later! I must have a bug in the binary somewhere that I have to find. I'll have to re write the code. I processed the sample with the same code a few times and the notes were different! I am unsure of what has changed with the code. This happens when the memory boundaries are miscalculated somehow. Anyway, here are three guesses of the notes that you played Nintendao:

sample_one.pdf

You know your software is becoming consciousness when it begins having trouble making up its mind, hehe

What is meant by "Each tab group has four positions (0, 5, 10, 15)"?

Here's how i played it, so sample_two.pdf looks closest to me.

e|340-----------0-|
B|---0320--0----0-|
G|-------01-1---1-|
D|-----------2--2-|
A|----------------|
E|----------------|

Vertically visual, the tab group contains four auto generated listings of notes to tabs. So one might play an A3 on the 2nd fret of the G string or an A3 on the 7th fret of D String. So, I just kinda listed all the tabs possible in various positions along the neck of the guitar.

Thank you Nintendao for posting!

Yes, something seems broken there.. feels like it might be oversensitive to some kind of interference or harmonics. I still say that program has a mind of its own and is actually trying to teach me a whole new tune in the pdf haha. Thanks for the tablature refresher though! I'm going to keep practicing.

Definitely more consistent between the three. It still seems inverted somehow. I haven't played this thing in a while; i'm going to check my tuning.
