What is the most straight forward path to enlightenment

So yeah - not straight forward. Not easy. But I doubt there’s a legitimate path that is! Just enjoy the journey and do your best.

Yeah - enjoy the legitimacy.

Hi steve,

A small error in the early stages leads to progressive deviation from the proper view and path.

I progress that way on my road less traveled.

Limahong - you need to stop trolling the threads.

You've posted 14 times in this thread in the last hour - with one line comments or multiple pictures.

You've created invalid quotes of others - very disingenuous.

I filed a complaint with the Mods.

You and they can do whatever you and they wish - I'm putting you on ignore.

Hi Jeff,

The word is "grab" to rythme with "trap"'

Now I will grab some sleep.

Before TDB comes up with another HOT!

Then I will be trapped again.

Just finished watching this. To summarize:

AUM....

pronounced OM...

Spelled:

1. A waking state (the waker and this waking world)

2. U dream (dreaming in the dream world)

3. M Deep sleep

4. (silence afterwards)

Practice:

1. A Bring to mind this is my life, this is where I am, this is the earth, this is all encompassing, this is A....

2. U... Realize I fall asleep and completely forget this world, a dream world that I am in, objects, places, people to see, U...

3. I do not experience an external world, dream world, I do not even experience myself as sleeping, the subject and object are emerged in undifferentiated blankness and yet it is an experience (The experience of absence). M....

Going through those states in AUM one feels that they are not trapped in those states. Those states appear, disappear, and play around with you the witnessing awareness.

4. As AUM fades into silence, you are the witness of that silence. (The consciousness whom "you" experiences the silence)

Deep sleep

Hi falcon,

I spent a greater part of yesterday at a Buddhist temple. I was dead beat when I went home and fell into a deep sleep.

When I woke up an hour later - I sensed cool energy ensuing from my third eye.

I have two trusted Teachers at TDB - X and Y. I have introduced X in this thread.

Re my cool energy, I contacted Y thus per this dialogue:

Me - Today I have experienced cool energy ensuing from my third eye - really COOL. Is there an explanation?

Y - Me too but mine from working with someone...  In fact, it just jumped a minute ago... so wonder if I knew you were coming.

Me - I just encountered it a short while ago after waking up from a nap. You were not on my mind.

I have not watched the video cited.

Totally depends on context and how the (local) mind translates it, but most often it relates to connecting or moving “higher” in consciousness. Like when you go walking in the mountains at higher altitudes things are cooler as there is less water (or issues) for the light to hit.

Translation after the event?

Hi Steve,

With obtaining Rigpa, the most paramount moment is the direct realization of ultimate emptiness. Which then the state should be meditated on as much as conceivably possible.

In regards to that initial shock, or astonishment of ultimate reality (innermost awareness). I was wondering what are yours or other thoughts on taking substances to supplement a Llama's role. Most specifically DMT. But also Ayachuaska? - If all one really needs is the first exposure to Rigpa, why not?

Again, it depends on how one views it.  If I hit a fastball pitch, is that after the event?

Hello bums,

Given that there are no short cuts, some paths tend to be a little less vague, covered in scripture, history, dogma, etc.

Quite a vague question to ask, but as most may agree, all paths lead towards the same realization. I was hoping to get sum Bum perspectives on what some of you may think (or believe) by your own knowledge and experience, to be the most straight forward path. A lot of room for interpretation, but given your answer perhaps you could fill that interpretation with your own 2 cents as to why.

Feel free to comment.

As most members on the board must know by now, I’m far from “knowledgeable” on such subjects. However yesterday, I came across the Dzogchen path of Tibetan Buddhism. 2 techniques specifically, called Togal and Trekcho. They are supposed to be of the highest level, and grant anyone enlightenment within a lifetime regardless of how much karma they have..

after the event

Hi Jeff,

If "cool energy" is the event, then translating it must be after the event - from a temporal sequencing perspective.

But if "cool energy" is into the moment and I must translate the moment in that moment - then I will have to figure it out.

You have indicated - connecting or moving “higher” in consciousness. This is fascinating.

My sessions with X to-date were perceived within the realm of the first seven chakras.

I will PM X for an elaboration on the "cool energy".

I had raised this before with him - "I cannot perceive energy in relation to stagnation - how do I flow forward?"

Feeling “energy” is most often not actually the flow of the energy itself.  It is more the energy “hitting” things like issues and fears stored up in the energy body. So often higher (or more space) feels quieter. It also depends if you are more focused on the transmission of the energy or the incoming/reception aspect of it.

After the "cool energy" event, I have started to meditate "unworldly" and "unwordly".

I have experienced a new calm. Am I moving in the direction of The Void?

Guess it depends on how one defines the void. But, either way increasing clarity (or the absence of stuff - void like) is a good thing.
