Smite MARA!

Evil spirits?

This excellent text will shed some light upon this issue:

“Now you may believe in the theories of Buddhism, for example, or of another Eastern philosophy. The differences between any of those systems of thought and Christianity may be so apparent that the similarities escape you. You may follow one of the schools of Buddhism in which great stress is laid upon the denial of the body, discipline of the flesh, and the avoidance of desire. These elements are quite characteristic of Christianity also, of course, but they may appear more palatable, exotic, or reasonable coming from a source foreign to your childhood education. So you may leap from one to the other, shouting emancipation and feeling yourself quite free of old limiting ideas.

Philosophies that teach denial of the flesh must ultimately end up preaching a denial of the selfand building a contempt for it, because even though the soul is couched in muscle and bone it is meant to experience that reality, not to refute it."

Rest of the reading ---> Here.

Love your body and look after it really well because it is an expression of the Mind.

As bad as Science, they mould your Mind into a defined pattern and some religions hold negative views of the body, which is wrong.

No Religion, No Science and certainly there are no evil spirits, only your Mind creating and shaping reality every millisecond.

Lucky for you that you haven't encountered a malicious ethereal being. Perhaps considering Mara only in allegory is an easy way to discount the documented existence of malicious ethereal being beyond the veil. Without direct experience and sometimes even with direct experience, (one might write it off as mind tricks), one has no reason to believe such things exist, so I understand that perspective.

I think it is easier for one to consider something so disturbing that it rocks the foundation of what one has considered as reality, as mere metaphor, rather than to rethink the foundation which all of ones accumulated "knowing" has been derived from. For then one would know very little.

Do you know of any religions that don't document beings existing beyond the veil?
