did you know that the spring equinox happens at the wrong time every year because of a decree by the pope in the 1500's?

No,  the Spring Equinox does not happen at the wrong time of year  .... it happens at the time of year when the day and night length are equal  in spring . No one  can make that wrong

 

Maybe you mean some people  calculate it  or  celebrate it at the wrong time of year ?

 

( And a Pope made it more extreme in the Bronze Age  ?   .....   :huh:

Yes, "celebrate it at the wrong time (day) of year".  That was my understanding.

 

But the Earth wobbles just perfectly.

Yep.  The wobble allows for seasons.  Without the wobble we would have one season all year long like some places at the equator and the poles have.

I think you mean 'tilt of axis'  - that makes the seasons .   The 'wobble'   is usually referring to the  tilt of the axis rotating, the top of the axis circulating one way and the bottom the other way.
