A Bum on the Way Home

Recommended Posts

Hi.

Been doing qigong for a while, but it became obvious that it's not everything what I need, despite the fact that it worked quite well on health. Something felt missing.

Recently I came across a school of Tantric Buddhism and Dzogchen which really felt like coming home. No looking back anymore.

My current interests are in finding authentic Daoist elixir and alchemy methods. I believe this place is a good place to look around. kempomaster's lowkey announcement of a forthcoming Stillness-Movement Neigong course got me particularly hooked. Really looking forward to learning the system.

I have a slight interest for internal martial arts, but I am looking for something outside of standard playing with qi and empty force, e.g. developing higher awareness and dandao. Is there anything authentic out there? Any tips are welcome.

Thanks for reading. - v -

Hello, virtue and welcome.

Your membership is approved and we're happy you found your way to us. We look forward to accompanying you on some of the way that you still have to go.

Please take the time to read the post pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum Terms and Rules.   This covers all you need to know when getting started.

For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day.

Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you,

Marblehead and the TDB team

Hi virtue,

The only tip I can offer is:  Buyer Beware.  I'm sure you will find it easy to find folks to talk with here.

You are welcome to jump right in ongoing discussions, revive an older thread, start a new thread of your own, or start a discussion in the "Newcomer Corner" sub-forms to expand on your introduction or ask general questions to help you get started.

May you enjoy your time here.

Hi virtue,

Is it possible that when a person has yet to find herself/himself, there will always be - "something felt missing"?

Homeward bound to yourself?

Are you taking a detour from going home?

What is internal martial arts? "Something outside"? Aren't you - "a bum on the way home"?

IT is inside you - the REAL virtue.

Welcome.

I've enjoyed and gotten much practical use from taking a Stillness Movement seminar with Ya Mu.  I'm sure Kempomaster will be a great teacher.  You may want to look into KAP (https://www.kundaliniawakeningprocess.com/blog/kap-interactive-online-learning/)  It's a eclectic blend of gi gung and martial arts.

Here's a thread by one of its teachers.  You can look up there youtubes also.
