Oh, I think that the post above is just his way of expressing himself.  Sure, he has biases.  Don't we all?

If I thought he was cutting down my America I would already have been on his ass.

Your America? Oh. Right. You mean the 'people you like'. Gotcha..

And it pissed me off whenever I was in Texas and got stopped by the Border Patrol to be asked if I was an American.

Yeah, with blonde hair and blue eyes I am a Mexican.  Right.

I take that second part seriously.

So how are real rednecks not part of your land?

Maybe they think you are a rooskie; the news says they are everywhere doing all sorts of things. Did you check and make sure Border Patrol was American? Did you quiz them concerning their knowledge of Woody Guthrie?

For everything there is a season.

I live in real redneck country.  Some might consider me one.  Did I call out rednecks?  I have called out folks who have bad-mouthed the USA regardless of who they are or where they live.

No, I was too pissed off to say anything.  Sometimes it is best for me to keep my mouth shut.

He was cutting down rednecks. I was just curious where you drew the line as to who/what fell under your umbrella of protection. I'm not curious any more; you've explained yourself well. Thanks!

You do know that Mexican is not a race, but a group of people that live in the area that is called in Mexico.

As such you can have many people looking more Spanish then Indian and all the mixtures in between.

The border patrol can operate 100 miles Inland away from the border for those interested

Yep.  And the newly named Americans took a lot of land from the Mexicans when the USA expanded into the Southwest and West.  I can't really blame them for wanting it back.

And if you go to southwest Texas someplace like Eagles Pass and spend one entire day you likely won't see a single Gringo.

I did ask one woman if there were any Gringos in town and she said "Yes, we have a few."

Lots of people cut down rednecks.  There might even be more redneck jokes than there are blonde jokes.  I even enjoy looking at and reading redneck jokes.

And a BTW, a lot of people like to cut down Cajuns but I will tell you right up front, they are amongst the proudest of Americans I have ever known.

He met up with one. I am still suspicious about Ryan being a real redneck, I mean, he didn't say nuthin' about chawin backer or trucks. I give him the benefit of the doubt; maybe he just wanted to meet the banjo player.

I don't quite get your point.

What are called Mexican s took the land from aboriginals, who also took it from other aboriginals.

If you can't blame them you could always offer your house, car ECT as a way to make you and them feel better.

Yep.  You totally missed the point.

The Mexicans merged in with the local aboriginal populations.  The Americans destroyed both.  They called it "Manifest Destiny".  Yes, "their" manifest.

nope you missed it, they didn't....and they did destroy the culture

The fact that they still feel the land they live on is "theirs" while still receiving the

benefits that the US  culture  provides for them them is troubling.  Maybe, just maybe,

they might be happier in Mexico.

Hehehe.  We are not going to agree on this because we each are looking at different time periods and perspectives.

I don't disagree with what you are saying regarding what is happening today.  But that isn't what I was talking about.

No, they (the Mexicans) did not destroy the aboriginal cultures.  The aboriginals merged in with the Mexicans.  Sure, that is going to alter their culture.  But in the most part it happened peacefully.

There is an on-going effort by Hispanics in the USA to take control of the seven Southwestern states in the USA.  It's not their intention (at this time) to become a new country, they just want local Hispanic control of those states.

Trump still wants to put up a wall.  I am not in favor of this.  But I am not in favor of illegal immigration either.  There are a lot of people not doing their job that has allowed the situation to evolve to this point.  We have laws.  Enforce them!

try again they did destroy their cultures, and it was not peacefully..

let  history be your friend.

"When Mexico became independent in 1821 the long-standing peace with the Apache began to fall apart. The number of soldiers at the frontier presidios was reduced, as was the budget for supporting the soldiers and the Apache.

The key element leading to war was that, in 1831, the Mexican government cut off food rations to Apaches settled near presidios. The 2,000 Apache at the presidios quickly departed, it being necessary for them to resume their hunting-gathering lifestyle if they were to survive. The military commander of Chihuahua declared war on the Apache on October 16, 1831 and initiated military action against them.[9] Mexico, however, was ill-prepared for a war against the Apache.

The two states most affected, Chihuahua and Sonora, operated almost independently of each other and the federal government. Sonora (which included Arizona at this time) had a thinly-scattered population of perhaps 50,000 people; Chihuahua had a more concentrated population of 134,000 and a better organized government.[10][11]"

wow it just gets better

"In 1835, the government of Sonora put a bounty on the Apache which, over time, evolved into a payment by the government of 100 pesos for each scalp of a male 14 or more years old. Later, Chihuahua offered the same bounty for males plus a bounty of 50 pesos for the capture of an adult female and 25 pesos for a child under 14.

Bounty hunters were also allowed to keep any Apache property they captured. The bounty for one Apache male was more than many Mexicans and American workers earned in a full year.[16] It is unclear, however, whether the scalp bounty was actually paid during the first few years"

I guess this is what you mean by "somewhat peacefully"  if true I'd hate to be around when you say it wasn't peacefully.

I have relatives from mexico, on the aboriginal side.  Some have even thought of going back to mexico...Do you know how hard it is to become a citizen of mexico? Do you know what happens when they catch you with out a visa ?

My grandmother was hit  while crossing the street and died a yr later of her injuries.

The illegal who did it was caught, jumped bail presumably went back to Mexico.

The US needs the wall, and to enforce its immigration polices.

Maybe if some here lived over seas like I have and do they would know how other countries

protect their borders and cultures. That would be non European countries.

For some reason Europe has decided to commit cultural suicide.

Well you did your research.  One point for that.  Yes, I did say "somewhat peaceful".

But anyhow, history is written.  Can't be changed.  But the future can be directed somewhat.

I am optimistic.  The current events in the USA is causing people to become involved.  I don't agree with many of them but at least they are becoming aware of reality.  That must always be considered good.

I don't like the idea of the USA isolating itself but it was what allowed America to become great in the past.  Isolation might be required for America to become great again.

We do, however, in my opinion, need to detach ourself from the New World Order.  Ms Haley stated wisely, I think, when she recently told the UN that they do not rule the USA.
