On the nature of commitment

Committing isn't something heard or said, signed up for, or done tomorrow. Body and mind are committed only to die.

Every breath is so precious, ratchet ever deeper into Now with each inhalation and exhalation in gratitude.

Committing one's self to something is a good concept.  When younger it was very important to me.  As I age I find that its importance has decreased quite a bit.  Maybe I just got tired, maybe disappointed with the results.

I don't even make plans very often so there is little to commit myself to.

The commitment is to discover this one moment composing the whole of the real.    As you said, the alternatives can be tiring and not yield what you expected. Enjoy deluded death while the body remains animate for the expenditure of your moment my friend, it's a very popular and traditional technique.
