Hello all, happy to have found TDB. My main interest is in Daoist and Chan meditation/contemplation, especially the apophatic practices associated with early texts. I'm also interested in the internal arts, the relationship between mind and subtle energies.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions to the forum.

Hello, hubi and welcome.

Your membership is approved and we're happy you found your way to us. We look forward to accompanying you on some of the way that you still have to go.

Please take the time to read the post pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum Terms and Rules.   This covers all you need to know when getting started.

For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day.

Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you,

Marblehead and the TDB team

Hi hubi,

Many members here talk about what you mentioned are of interest to you.  You should find it easy to get involved in discussions.

You are welcome to jump right in ongoing discussions, revive an older thread, start a new thread of your own, or start a discussion in the "Newcomer Corner" sub-forms to expand on your introduction or ask general questions to help you get started.

May you enjoy your time here.

Hi hubi.

Simple introductions that speak volumes are always impressive. Yours is one such.

What are apophatic practices?

Mind and subtle energies - great stuff. What are subtle energies to you?

Hi  Kar3n,

Recognize mind has never once had a thought that wasn't your own choice already.

The mind is already programmed all knowingly?

Mindfully choose compassionate thoughts that are a pleasure to experience and the urge to silence thought passes.

With no urges, the need to cling to some thought passes with it.

♥ A beautiful woman #quotes - I absolutely LOVE this. Every attribute (Truth, Kindness, Compassion, Charity, Love, and Prayer) is equally important.

Hi LimA,

These are non-dual, objectless, formless practices that seem to be about turning the light of awareness upon itself and tracing it back to its source through a kind of inversion of awareness - emptying, negating,"forgetting".

I am only beginning to understand, but I know that there are levels of reality that are more fluid, dynamic, intimately interconnected, without hard borders... and the term "subtle energies" seems to apply.

Thank you for the questions.

"Heard any good Koans lately?"

Hi Lost in Translation,

I am a Koan fresh newbie.

Like to know what can be.

Will remember that it is at TDB,

That I learn Koan for bummies.

Thank you.
