Ten land buddhisatvas

Recommended Posts

Quote

The second bhūmi, the Stainless    Edit
Bodhisattvas on the second level, the "Stainless", perfect ethics and overcome all tendencies towards engagement in negative actions. Their control becomes so complete that even in dreams they have no immoral thoughts. According to Tsong Khapa for such a bodhisattva,

Does it mean there is no dreams in the second level?

Does it get away from Five hindrances in the second level?

No, there are still dreams until the 8th bhumi.  Just means that one is always a helpful/nice person in the dreams.  No more negative attacks on other.

If someone reach the 8th land, he or she must have a free 意生身, dharma body.

this dharma body can live , even he or she die.

If one have dreams, he would never have a pure dharma body.

funny...

This morning, before I woke up, I had a dream about Jesus ( qualifies as nice/helpful person?) reading me a book about what Jesus actually said. And I was thinking, wait a second, Jeff actually told us about Gospels and I did buy one ( but did not read yet)...

Given last night I was at the fire puja, perhaps there is some connection to my dream... but obviously my lands are more of cats' lands than buddhas:)

gotta read the Gospel now...

If one can reach 5th land, he already has a 意生身 dharma body.

but this dharma body just a beginning.

it can't live without samadhi.

it only show up at 三昧正受 , the right samadhi .

it showed once on me.

when it showed, I have no dreams in those months.

it just 5th land.

One can always still fall back until they have reached the 8th. Such falling back is based upon issues and fears that have not yet been seen through and released. Those same issues and fears are the subconscious basis for dreams.

Please see below a link to an exposition of the meditative experiences/mental factors associated with each of the 10 Bhumis and their correlation to the 5 stages of the Path according to Tibetan Buddhism:

http://www.lotsawahouse.org/tibetan-masters/patrul-rinpoche/stages-and-path

From your post, this is the part about what I meant about no more dreams as one is beyond be affected by subconscious mental activity that affect and create dreams...

This eighth bhūmi is called ‘Immovable’, because bodhisattvas who have reached this stage cannot be moved by discerning or non-discerning perceptions.

楞伽經

一切佛語心品之三

云何三昧樂正受意生身,謂第三第四第五地,三昧樂正受故,種種自心寂靜,安住心海,起浪識相不生,知自心現境界,性非性,是名三昧樂正受意生身。

Who can find the translation of this part?

This means the first stage of 意生身 start from the fifth land.

the fifth Buddhisatva is very still in his heart sea and stay there. No conscious waves there. Knowing everything of his own heart.

Xin in is not xin.

This is 楞伽經(梵文:लंकावतारसूत्र Lankāvatāra-sūtra)

dreams are the waves of consciousness.

in  fifth buddhisatva , no consciousness waves, so no dreams.

We can not [guess] sutra.

And we must practice to prove the sutra.

We should not guess what it said or misunderstand it.

actually, the first land buddhisatva already start to have no dreams.

If one still has dream, he has consciousness activities, it is impossible to get into the first land.

he just stay in 欲界(梵文:कामधातु,kāma-dhātu)

The no-dream state may come for years and then without what might be  assumed to be a slide backward some dreams may ventilate in order to show where work must be done. This is particularly true just prior to certain bodies transforming.

At these points the embodiment is aware of the needs and events though not clearly the outcomes. Often only a light new awareness of an "obstacle" results in its dissipation.

I apologize for perhaps using difficult language in my last post here.

When I awoke and for several years after I had no dreams.

A few dreams have happened recently and in these I have been shown certain aspects Within that must be dissolved.

They can be simple things - but very important things.

It is very important to attain a very high level of neutrality - this cannot be accomplished in polarity.

In the "seeing" level this neutrality will clarify to some extent. It will also harden certain fine points.

The seeing level will help to build Certainty but it will harden some aspects which will help in wisdom later because they were misleading. The "seeing" level after some time will feel like the no more learning level - it is a million miles from the no more learning level.

The meditation level above the Seeing level is nothing like the original meditation practice early on the path and it can come in the form of great hardship and personal suffering and also intentionally suffering and meditation and practice.

The no more learning level is far different than what it states - it is well worded and beyond words - it is nothing like the explanations but it is possible to see the wording that has been put to it.
