Puerh tea

Recommended Posts

The ones I recommended from the specialised vendor are better quality. Also remove the puerh stored in the tin container and keep it in a paper bag (or two, one inside the other) so it can breathe and age (ferment) properly.

The 2017 Rooster King I linked is also a very good quality ripe cake.

Not a worry. Not fussed about simplicity:

If you are maybe you should consider upgrading to a more enjoyable vessel that won't scorch your fingers, allow for a faster pour and control it as well plus it will enhance the quality of the brew. Yixing pots do that but it's a very sneaky business. I can recommend you a legit one based in HK who sells good quality pots for very reasonable prices. Let me know if that's the case.

Here's two raw puerh cakes with plenty of kick:

First is top class and the second...see if you can handle it! :)

So I ended up taking your advice, and bought some from that site, and more. I figured I’d share. Bought some of the newer stuff thinking I can age it while I drink the others.

Enjoy! :) The Autumn Bing Dao is one of my favourite puerh cakes. It's excellent.

Btw, don't break the cake in small pieces or the brews will turn bitter. Make sure they are clean, large enough -to fit in the pot/gaiwan- chunks which will reveal the tea notes evenly. Using a sharp metal pick will do the job correctly (https://bit.ly/2L0ksMz).
