Some old classics…..

I'm the humblest person I know.

I thought I was wrong once, but I found out later I was mistaken.

I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

I'm trying to be less self-deprecating, but I really suck at it.

I can be spontaneous, if I have enough time to prepare for it.

Repeat after me. We are all individuals.

All generalizations are wrong.

I swear to god I must be the only true optimist left on the planet.

My apathy causes me problems, but I don't care.

I used to be conceited but now I’m perfect.

Always remember that you are a unique individual; just like everyone else.

It brings bad luck to be superstitious.

We recognize the lion by his claws. -- King David

John Bernoulli famously quoted this line when he challenged the mathematicians of the world with a difficult problem, and a solution was published anonymously.  He saw the publication as the mark of the lion's claw.

The anonymous guy who submitted it was Sir Isaac Newton.  Bernoulli didn't sniff him, to my knowledge.  He just looked at the mark of the claw and saw the invisible lion behind it.

The quote isn't from King David...

That's possible, but king David told me he said it first, before the Romans appropriated it.  Who may have said it before him, I didn't investigate.  King Solomon maybe?

That idiot know-nothing pseudo-taoist ass ought to be kicked off the board pronto for violating the insult policy.

(Disclaimer: this post isn`t aimed at any particular member.  It`s a joke, perhaps not a good one, but hey --can`t blame a guy for trying.  I was attempting to riff on Yueya`s earlier post of self-contradicting statements.)

I read your post before you added the disclaimer and it took me a while to realise you were humorously presenting a self-contradictory statement.  My immediate thought was these sorts of assertions are so common they're easy to overlook. Another that comes to mind from someone on this forum was, "Stop being a dictator." And, for me, those who clam to be non-dualists are regularly making dualist assertions such as accusing someone else of having a dualists attitude. Rather than non-dualists, they regularly come across as great duelists.

Please join me in my fight to stamp out intolerance!   :)
