What an alive and gorgeous forum page you have here! I spend so much time reading people's stories and other people's answers. It's so lovely really to meet such like minded people haha.

Well, I am new here but also very new to a Taoist way of life. I'm Alex and I've just graduated high school. I've been an atheist all my life but after living with anxiety issues my whole life, all I wanted was self acceptance. I turned to Taoism and after reading the Tao Te Ching and listening to the Tao of Pooh audiobook, and becoming a novice in mediation, nothing spoke to me clearer than this. I am in love with this and I want to start taking it more seriously and making it a bigger deal in my life. I haven't really talked with too many people about this so it's a bit tricky expressing how I feel. I feel a lot less alone on this website though. : )

If anyone has any advice for newcomers or wants to share their experiences with me, I'd LOVE to hear everyone out ! I'm really just looking for a conversation about such a peaceful and beautiful way of life. : D

Hello lovecraftssiren, and welcome.

Your membership is approved and we're happy you found your way to us. We look forward to accompanying you on some of the way that you still have to go.

Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started.

For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day.

Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you,

Marblehead and the TDB team

Hi lovecraftssiren,

Thanks for the compliment to the site.  I very much enjoy talking about Taoism so I'm sure we will be seeing each other in various threads.  Don't be shy.  We all are allowed to make mistakes.

You are welcome to jump right in ongoing discussions, revive an older thread, start a new thread of your own, or start a discussion in the "Newcomer Corner" sub-forms to expand on your introduction or ask general questions to help you get started.

May you enjoy your time here.
