Kunlun Nei Gung "100 Days" Support Thread

I was thinking of heading to the Himalayas in search of the mountain that produces this high fructose, highly caffeinated dew that looks suspiciously like watered down antifreeze.

I double checked today and I concur.

My feeling is Baja Blast is in fact better than regular Mountain Dew.

The fact that it is only available at your niehborhood Taco Bell means I will be eating many a Chalupa in my life.

hot shower/cold shower is one way to do "hydrotherapy". try 3 min. hot as you can bear, then 30 sec. cold, back to hot, 3 min., then cold, hot then cold. repeat as many times as you want. I find three is the limit for me. very good for skin and circulation and pumping blood. plus it feels good. peace.

I've been enjoying finishing my blazing hot showers lately with a few minutes of coldass water :)

Also,

Try cold shower with deep breathing.

As cold a shower as you can stand.

Inhale as deeply as you can and hold your breath and count to ten.

Exhale completely. After the breath is Exhaled hold your breath and count to ten.

Repeat..inhale..count..exhale..count..

This combined with the cold water for 5-10 minutes is really invegorating!

Oolong Rabbit is suggesting I give up coffee but we are going to have to find some way around this. I mean, what kind of girl doesn't enjoy a delicious Starbucks coffee on a cool winter day?

I'm really pulling for you guys, but it seems to me you are taking the band - aid approach with all of these physical techniques which only keeps your focus "down there", thus increasing the very energy you are trying to overcome.

It's all in your mind! Where are your thoughts? Refuse any and all sexual thoughts. Just flat out refuse them!

If you are just trying to not have sex, you are putting the odds against you. It's too negative. You need to move toward something positive, something spiritual, and divine. And open yourself to that force, and call it down into you.

You need to exceed your self, spiritually. Think of how you will feel if you succeed. What a victory it will be, and what a giant step forward you will have taken to be free of every urge and impulse that you allow to enter you by stepping outside of the machinery as a free being. There are many layers, of course, but every step is hard won and creates a momentum that will soon take on a life of it's own and then it becomes an effortless effort.

Are you moving away from something? Or are you moving towards something? Where is your mind? Where are your thoughts? Where are you focused?

Thanks Bindo,

The major focus of course will be the actual practice of Kunlun. That is the focus.

I think what we are discussing here are more like "emergency situation" methods.

You have been celibate for many years so are obviously on another level with this.

A couple days in already I am feeling some changes.

My feeling is the 100 days of retention(and transmission) is like the foundation required to burn through all these layers of negativity or karma.

Even tonight, I have moments of feeling like I am opening and then contracting again. Like this egoic, judgemental thing that likes to contract and judge for a living and this blissful, loving thing that likes to expand out are having a hard time coexisting.

Of course, the idea isn't to have them coexist, but have the expanding, loving, accepting thing take over the property.

I don't want to ge too dramatic. But it does feel like the 100 days are going to be kind of a war. It feels like this subtle energy arising preparing me for the deep internal work I will hopefully be able to do.

There is a part of me screaming for cigarettes right now but another part that is firmly and strongly saying "no".

I basically "went off" on someone I like in another thread and mikaelz brought up an interesting issue about losing your temper doing 100 days.

Here is my take,

Doing 100 days will probably release all kinds of crap from my system. Yes, some of it might be really, really negative. My guess is some of it will be really, really positive too.

Here is my request,

Please no more advice or comments or judgements or anything towards me while I attempt 100 days. I am doing this as a sort of record and support for my practice(and also to help support others) my feeling is it's up to each one of us whether we will be able to finish or not. It's not anyone elses place to make comments about our Yi or Character when we are in the middle of having tremendous openings where channels that have been blocked for years are being opened.

If you don't understand the concept of channels opening up in a sometimes extreme way that is in large part what I have been going through the last 2 months.

My guess is it will only get more intense.

So, I for one am just done arguing with any one on Taobums on any level. Frankly, I am not here for anyones advice. If I want advice I will ask a Tao teacher or some other spiritual teacher.

Not someone on a discussion board.

This, for my part, is just to share with others doing Level 1 Kunlun and 100 days as taught in Pillars of Bliss.

Ok? That's all.

Thank you.

yo camz,

maybe during the 100 days its best to disassociate yourself with the forum since you're very sensitive to it.

this will allow you to focus on other things. i hear gardening is good :)

i'm being serious, you will keep experiencing this because this is a forum. you'll eventually have everyone on ignore and i'm just saying before that happens maybe you should find a more peaceful hobby that moreso benefits your current situation and mindset

have you ever read any Kerouac?

check out the book Dharma Bums

Good point mikaelz.

I was thinking I don't really want to post or interact with the forum for a few months but still want to post in the "100 Days" thread.

So here is what I am going to do. I will just "check in" once a week. It's sunday night so let's check in every sunday night. And I will report on how things are going.

And I will visit the site for a few minutes ONCE A DAY to read up on how other people doing 100 days are doing.

Take care, talk to you next sunday.

I'm not a Kunlun practitioiner, and find myself quite satisfied with my own system, but have a similar aspiration of praticing retention for 100 days myself.

I've been really finding it hard to pass week 5, and after that, subtle conflicts in energy manifest when you least expect it. So for what it's worth here's my hard-earned points to make it work and why it didn't work:

1. It's difficult to practice retention of you

a) Are stressed

B) Are unsatisfied with your work or life

c) Have alot of unresolved emotional garbage

d) Become too self-centered

e) Sleep too much

f) Don't exercise

g) Overeat

h) Eat certain foods like too much sugar, onions, garlic and certain spices

i) Don't practice mindfullness

j) View porn

k) Get involved in activities that mentally excite you, like videogames or TV that stimulates the Yi/Jing aspect

l) Smoke

m) Stay too much indoors

2. It's easier to practice retention of you

a) Do powerful moving forms of qigong or Yoga

B) Eat less, drink less

c) Meditate everyday

d) Spend time in nature

e) Keep yourself busy with other things than feeling horny

f) Serve others, think selfless thoughts and act out of compassion

g) Keep a planner as to when you should be careful not to get too sexually stimulated, (after week 2 for most people) so that you increase physical exercise and lessen food and sleep intake

h) Drink one glass of red wine every night

i) sleep on the left side, so that the heart-energy does not get agitated during sleep.

j) Sleep less than 7 hours after week 2

k) After week 4, physically exhaust yourself (with either running or other endurance workouts,or squatting forms of qigong)

But most important of all:

You can feel subtly when the body has "decided" that it's time to ejaculate the excess energy. It has allready made up it's "mind" before you, and when this starts to emerge, the battle starts. The signs are:

- Thoughts of ejaculation and sex

- A feeling of tingling in the lower jiao, or immediate subtle aches or soreness in the lower back, or magnetic vibration behind the sperm palace

- When resting or going to sleep, you feel "divided" between sleeping and sexual sensation.

There are probalby other signs, but these are quite easy to detect.

Measures

Do the practice, and especially squatting and the deer form of the five animals, elevate your energy through meditation, listening to music, reading poetry, or using mantras, ANYTHING that elevates the frequency of the Jing chi. Store the energy in the bones, and NOT in the Dan Tian after practice, and take a cold shower before going to bed.

just my hard earned experience

might wanna wear swim trunks in the shower dude...unless you are one of those weirdos who feels sexy in a speedo...

Also if you start feeling saucy, try googling "roadkill pics". If pictures of dead kitties don't stop Willy in his tracks I don't know what to say other than stay the hell away from my cats.

On second thought forget the long cold showers.

Just do Kunlun and excercise.

Last post week!

All I can offer in terms of advice, having gone through the 100 days is to just crystallize the goal in your mind and refuse to let yourself go there in terms of sexual thought.

I stayed busy and did my practice and also put my focus up at a 45 degree angle past the third eye to the pure light of Tao. This energy filled my heart and made the desire of (lower) sexual expression pale in comparison.

When my 100 days were over, I still gave it another week or so, just to prove to myself that the sex thing didn't have a hold on me. Even for a while after that I just had a kind of "whatever" attitude toward the whole sex thing.

When the sexual orgasm is your god you have a very limited ceiling. When the empty bliss of Tao is your aspiration, there is no limit.

I am not attempting the 100 days of Kunlun, but have had over 200 days while I was deployed (yes it is different circumstances). All i can say is "Idle hands" will cause you to break your 100 days. I may be wrong, but most of the time, the urge will happen just before bed, or right at bed time, and when you wake up in the morning, also in your dreams.. What I did was I scheduled my workouts for 8:00 at night, and went home, took a shower and passed out in my bed. Keeping myself busy on other things kept the idea of sex out of my head, or I was just too tired, and NEEDED the energy and didn't want to waste it.

Good luck to you all!

I freakin wish I had access to Kunlun when I was deployed, having a fiance will make this "100 day" task rather difficult.

I just recently introduced my fiance that I am practicing Kunlun and do it every night for an hour without being disturbed, it is going to take time for her to be comfortable with me doing the upward draw technique. Eventually this will happen, but I don't feel like she is ready for me to do this yet. She is very understanding, but I need to ease her into it for now :)
