Very good translation of the lords prayer

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Not the first time i've mentioned the scholar Lewis Keizer on this forum, and not sure if anyone read the material i posted links to before, but here is a great translation of the original aramaic prayer of Christ.

He gives very good background information and anyone wanting to know the probable original teachings of Christ would i hope enjoy reading this.  It's also a powerful prayer.

If anyone wants to read the original link i put up, it can be purchased at amazon:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Abbaun-Authentic-Aramaic-Meaning-Prayer-ebook/dp/B009RX63BG/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=BBQ8D5AXWY8TTP8BSAHN

The translation is from the original aramaic version and not the Syriac version, and translated by a renowned scholar.

Thank you for sharing this, I've been interested in finding different translations of The Lord's Prayer and I'll definitely have to go through this and give it a study.

I really enjoyed this paper, Edward! I've re-read a couple times now...

(Yes, I know I already posted -- thought it worthy of a second thank-you.)

DireWolf, your'e welcome, i think this is the most authentic translation out there, but i'm not a scholar though.

Brian, really glad you enjoyed it!  I think you would really enjoy this paper as well Brian, i just finished it on kindle download.  Seems to have the whole pdf here on Bishop Keizer's website:  http://www.wisdomseminars.org/Incarnating%20The%20New%20Humanity.pdf

It's spiritual practice/methods taught by Christ, that anyone regardless of their religion/practice can do.

This is really great stuff for the Christian to read and consider. I wouldn't go so far to say that I believe it's completely accurate, but it's thought provoking to say the least, and has me interested in learning more from the author.

Glad you like it Aetherous, i feel the same way.  I do feel the method can take us a long long way, it seems the good impulse of the heart that Christ taught us about, is our own personal continuation of the original pulse of existence.  If we follow it, i'm confident we'd find the right way for us personally and fulfil our destiny, as well as learning all we needed to know.

I encourage you to take a look at the pdf i posted above your post if you haven't already, the whole document is there to read.

Also take a look at wisdom seminars . org for the rest of his material/courses...
