Yeah, governments around the world need to get their stuff together pretty soon else there is likely to be a lot more discontent being expressed.

Brazil seems to be a magnitude worse then the states, in that we're not too much worse then the general nastiness of most presidential elections (last couple have been pretty dirty, this is just uncivil).   Environmental causes, particularly drought is a big game changer.  Brazil is suffering through a historic drought - http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2015/06/150628-sao-paulo-brazil-drought-water-pictures/

 

People who are fed can be convinced or coerced into keeping the status quo.  When water is at stake, you realize you have 3 days of life left, your food supply is at risk of disappearing, every time you step outside the world is dirty and dusty.   Drought means fight, change or die. 

 

This is the unsung lesson in Syria, drought came first, unrest and civil war second.
