A student once asked his teacher, "Master, what is enlightenment?"

The master replied, "When hungry, eat. When tired, sleep."

Those zen dudes love there koans. Not sure if he's actually referring to the act of eating more than the awareness one should bring into the act.

Not sure that's a koan as such bro.

Maybe more of a lifestyle tip.

From the ones I've seen Koans tend towards being questions.

If the dude had asked....

" What is the sound of one man sleeping?"

Yep that'd be a koan albeit quite an easy one.

One might answer...

" Snoring".

One of my favorite books on Zen is "Zen Flesh, Zen Bones". Many beautiful and famous stories and koans throughout. Koans can be stories, questions and many other things. Well worth reading:

True, a lot of this.

I use particular computur games for skill/career development though. My own personal mastery :)

Depends what it is you're after!

Used to want to be a game tester/developer when a teen. Get paid to create and play video games all day along. But alas another dream deferred. Two roads diverged in a yellow wood. :P

I think that's very complete and a nice remember :)

About finances I can't agree more, and if I may add something I think money is the main way to vote, since voting is a joke : mastering your desire and spending money (or not!) into the world (you wish) is seriously tied to being responsible.

Funny, I'm going through a similar transition at the moment. My gaming is more for reflex training and problem solving, transferable into my new field.

I have also been marketing games/consoles recently...so yes, what a dream! But as you say, alas, I am leaving that world behind.

I think if one has to make time for practice is lack of devotion for the art.

Beginners leaving the old habits behind...it is tough.

It takes a lot to give up a TV if one has been born into being sat in front of it. Like any addiction.

Anyone wanting to make change and therefore needing to make space for their new practice is on the right path.

I know I could do more to be devoted still. Have mercy CD haha
