What is the energetic effect of water/a moat around a building

Recommended Posts

Is it good feng shui

Does it calm people down

Intuitively I get certain ideas

But I am curious

Rising damp and rats.

Clouds of midges all summer.

Never, ever buy a converted water mill.

any other replies I am either going to drain water that comes off the pyramid into stored water to purify and use or use it as a moat/pond, maybe both

Many castles and esoteric buildings have moats

Those moats round castles were defensive.

Not sure what an 'esoteric building' is.

How would a building do that?

That Sikh Golden Temple at Amritsar is in a little lake.

That's a nice place.

Taj Mahal has a ( very polluted) river in its back yard just a couple of metres away from the back wall.

Water wise, stored water kept for any length of time is best boiled prior to drinking.

Can't see how running it over a pyramid would 'purify' water.

Quite the opposite if the pyramid was at all dirty.

Good luck with that anyhoo.

It separates it from the ' outside world.' When one crosses over a draw bridge or even a small ornate bridge over a pond in a garden it brings a feel of entering a new or different space, a contained area.

We use a Grander filter ... works great, way beyond its guarantee ( we had the water scientifically tested before and after installation and a few times since..

controversial maybe ... but worked for us.

Yep you got that right.

Plus the smell.

Ponds are a lot of work to keep sweet.

A reed bed is a good idea.

Reeds are super cleaner uppers.

Plus they attract birds and frogs which are nice to look at and, as a bonus; they get to eat the mozzies.

Flowing water = wealth

Stagnant water = death

Search the new NSA headquarters in London. Shocking!

Oops I meant US embassy building. It's got a moat

Not necessarily.

Some moats and many lakes have a flow of water through them.

Ponds do tend to be standing water but not all.

Difference between a pond and a lake according to the old country people here was that you can throw a stone across the widest part of a pond but not across a lake.

My first tai chi and qigong teacher told me of a student of his who was making little progress in his energy work.

On investigation it turned out that he was practicing above his swiming pool which was effecting his grounding, When he moved his practice to another room or the garden he had immediate improvements.

There's a story about St Cuthbert the Lindisfarne guy.

He was a great cultivator and had so much energy about him that it kept the other monks awake .

So Cuthbert schleps off to a little island just off shore from the bigger island of Lindisfarne and builds himself a hermitage ( which is still there).

When he was cultivating Cuthbert waded out into the sea up to his chest.

That sorted out the issue.
