The Organ Kundabuffer:

In his most important book, BEELZEBUB'S TALE TO HIS GRANDSON, Gurdjieff talks about an organ that was implanted into humanity called the "organ kundabuffer". It was planted by two archangels in response to galactic catastrophe which affected the solar system which includes the planet Earth. The organ was temporarily implanted into humankind in order to minimize the sorrow of adapting to the stabilization period where the two moons, Luna and Anulios, would return to a balanced orbit around the Earth. Gurdjieff did believe that the Earth did have and still has two moons. Contrary to some esoteric views which assert that modern science has not verified the truth of two moons or assert that Gurdjieff was wrong about their being two moons, modern science has verified the truth what Gurdjieff taught. It is merely that Anulios, which Gurdjieff said was very small, is classified as a very large asteroid instead of a moon. It may be that this asteroid/moon could be, in the future, a place where a space colony may be able to use.

According to the story, the two archangels later removed the organ after the cosmic catastrophe was neutralized. However, the organ, having been implanted and removed, had side effects. One was that humans would periodically war against each other, exploit each other, and kill each other. Two was that they tended to see everything upside down, mistaking transitory events for eternal conditions, and tended to be addicted to and conditioned by things that gave them sensory pleasure. Three was that humans attached too much weight to verbal communicated thoughts and not enough weight to what could be and needs to be verified in human experience. It seems that this organ remained in the human body as a kind of virtual vestigial organ. It seems related to a series of habits that prevent human beings from correctly seeing their life condition and doing something about it. What is interesting is that there is a mention of a decrease in life span associated with the progressive degeneration of the human species as a result of this organ, that ordinary human beings were meant to live for at least centuries rather than their very short present lifespans. What is interesting in this regard is that John Bennett took the time to find some of the teachers of Gurdjieff and found them to be about 500 years old. This particular point fits Amritayana Buddhism concerning how aging and death are not necessary. At the same time, it explains many factors which have arisen which explains why humans do age and die.

When certain advanced beings ask Beelzebub what could be done about the residual remains of the organ and how these remains are still infecting human consciousness, he shares that he felt that another organ should be implanted into humanity that would make humans aware of their own impending death and the death of everyone around them. This is something that Buddha taught people to do as well as other esoteric traditions. The Cisternian Christian monks would take a spoonful of dirt from their own grave site every morning to remind them of transitoriness.

There are some interpretations of the organ kundabuffer that take this organ as a metaphor the personal ego. There is much that lends itself to this interpretation. The explanation, then, of the archangels implanting the organ then merely points to an ancient cosmic anomaly that we have inherited. The Buddha, when asked about the origins of ego consciousness, talked about those causes "lost in the night of time". In other words, the causes of causes of causes is such a long chain that it goes back into a time period that we have no memory.

But I have come to the understanding that the personal egoism and the organ kundabuffer are different. Perhaps they are related, but I think that Gurdjieff used the term "organ" to point to biological root, rather than a psychological construct. This means that the organ implanted that causes humans to be aware of their own impending death and the death of all those around themselves is not merely making people aware of the processes of death and destruction, but a kind of organic shock to our system that changes our biochemistry and induces a change that lifts us beyond the effects of the organ kundabuffer. I found, for instance, that my schizophrenic mother became spontaneous very healthy and balanced in about three days when I was able to provoke her into being angry and to have her stay with her anger. It happened rather well for a long period of time. I was not sure why, but it worked well enough so that I would do it often during a period of time. The result could have been explained psychologically, because she did have a lot of repressed anger that when given a chance to be consciously embraced would help her feel better. But I was never quite satisfied that this was the whole explanation. It seemed that a strong emotion like anger produces a kind of chemical shock in the system and may have neutralized another pre-existing chemical condition. I have a feeling that LSD and other hallucinogens did something similar. They produced a chemical shock which neutralized the residual chemical substrate of the organ kundabuffer. Krishnamurti, when his brother Nitya died, went into deep grief and emerged enlightened. Grief, too, is a chemical shock to the body and can wipe out the same chemical substrate. Jesus dying on the cross is also a vast chemical shock to the body. Near death experiences also are a chemical shock. These shifts can have more permanant or less permanant effects in terms of moving beyond the ego consciousness. This is why Beelzebub talks about having this second organ be constant enough to break down the previous chemical substrate to the point where it cannot reform itself. Paradoxically, watching the daily news could almost fulfill the kind of organic shock that Gurdjieff is hinting at, since it reports almost daily on the processes of recipocal destruction of humans by humans and thus makes people aware of transitoriness and death. It does not work perfectly, though, and it seems that a person would need to "self remember" or do mindfulness of breathing at the same time as watching the news to have the stimulus be effective.

It is similar to the Buddhist idea of "obscuration" where something is not able to be felt as long as the obscuration is in place. Some people, like Ouspensky, associated "kundabuffer" with "kundalini," but they are two different things. In a sense, kundabuffer is a block to the natural evolutionary movement of kundalini energy. Beezebub mentions that the organ was implanted at the base of the spine. I have gathered that the exact location is near L4-L5 and blocks the kundalini from rising from the sacrum beyond this point. One way of generating a certain energy to move us beyond our personal egoic state is to create a positive shock to this location so that the energy completes its circuit and flows up the spine. This, however, could induce a healing crisis that could take much time to process. A person might seem to go insane or bipolar if this is activated too continually. It seems that in the beginning we need to take the shocks in small doses and first have some temporary relief from the ego state.

What is interesting is how certain biochemical shocks seem to result in people having "out of the body experiences" (OOBEs). It seems that one new way of shifting people beyond the residual biochemical substrate of the organ kundabuffer is the use of "brainwave synchronizers". This approach uses what is called the "frequency following effect" (FFE) to shift our brainwaves to specific frequencies and to more coherent signal patterns. When a person is hooked up to a brainwave monitor and the EEG (a reading of the brain's electrical activity) is read, our brainwaves are normally fairly chaotic but tend to cluster around a certain dominant frequency range. When certain Zen Masters were studied, they were seen, after ten years of meditation, to have formed a rhythmic theta pattern. This pattern could be induced by a synchronizer in about five minutes. Although there is more to meditation that forming a rhythmic theta pattern, the acceleration of ten years to five minutes is still impressive. It does seem that brainwave synchronizers help people to learn to meditate more rapidly. It helps clear a kind of background static more rapidly by far than if we tried to do this without its assistance. Part of our attraction to music has to do with the embedded FFE, especially in the formation of chords and harmonic fifths. My belief is that they help to dissolve the biochemical substrate of the organ kundabuffer through reinforcing a coherent electromagnetic field within the brain that is used as a template to rebuild our biochemical level. The result is that some part of our being is able to leave the restriction of the physical body and roam the cosmos. There is an FFE pattern called "mind awake, body asleep" that seems especially useful to attain this inner degree of freedom. It seems to be very helpful for doing Tibetan bardo work and to enhance the power of the archetypal visualizations. Unlike the use of hallucinogens, there are no negative biochemical side effects. It works by going one level below biochemistry entirely to the organizing electromagnetic frequencies that shape our biochemical pathways and puts them into "coherence", a more organized and natural state, so that they can reshape the biochemical patterns of our body. This requires that we have a good diet to support this process and that we move through the "kriyas" (cleansing effects) as our bodies purge the kundabuffer toxins.

It seems in our natural physically immortal state that we have the ability to leave our usual physical bodies. This has created a curious thing in my own life process, because I feel that I have two "physical" bodies. One seems to be growing out of the other one. The more that I care for my usual outer physical body, the more an etheric analogue physical body is formed inside. It seems that this happened to both Aurobindo and to Guatama Buddha. Aurobindo called this second body a "supermental body" and Buddha called it the "mind made body". This body seems free of the usual karma patterns that form our first physical body. Our regular physical body is formed by a conjunction between our personal karma, our mother's karma, and our father's karma, and through this triadic union we join the collective karma of humankind. This passing on process is how we inherit the residual organ kundabuffer. This is a subtle point. Some of our karma comes from the outside or from what Buddha called "the interdependence of the inside and outside". This explains why our past lifetimes are similar to our present lifetime and also how they can also be very different. The mixture gives us certain new advantages and disadvantages. There is a quantum level "like attracts like" that makes the new karmaic patterns fit a larger sense of what karma is about. Because the second physical body is "created from meditation" it is like the pure lands of the Buddhas. It is free from the karmas of sorrow. It grows within us and begins to take on a life of its own. It seems that this second body eventually overshadows and absorbs the old physical body into itself or that we shed our present physical body and add what Gurdjieff called a "planetary coating" upon it. In any case, this second physical body eventually is able to function as a coherent body completely independently of the first one. Both Guatama and Aurobindo eventually released their first physical body and formed a new physical body. But both of them did talk about physical immortality, about ending aging and death in their first physical body. Guatama Buddha did not do so very much, because part of his mission was to teach "noble death", but he did indirectly teach about these things in some passages in the sutras. Babaji seems to have absorbed his first physical body into his second one so that the first physical body is "taken up". This seems to be the more natural of the two possible processes, but given that the conditions of this planet are not always fully supportive of this process, the second one is a failsafe.

Because of the "buffer" effect, we are usually unconscious of our emotional patterns. In this disassociated state, some external shock, some event, is needed to trigger or activate our experience of sorrow. When this happens, we usually want to sedate our pain and stimulate our pleasure with some chemical addiction, overeating food, or some sensory overwhelm in the form of movies with intense experiences being represented. In short, we want to rebuild this buffer. The formation of our usual subconscious mind is therefore part of the Organ Kundabuffer effect. It is perhaps the one most clearly connected with the experience, since it explains how we may have survived the early planetary catastrophe that necessitated its formation. But like the story of Noah in the Old Testament, which seems to represent this event, there were side effects. Noah gets drunk on something and then makes one of his sons and his progeny into a slave. Racial prejudice, slavery, addictions, and projection of repressed issues on to others all flow from this formation. We actually try to maintain this disassociated state as "sanity", rather than learn to integrate our emotional patterns. We need to learn how to stay "emotionally connected" instead. One problem is that a lot of prescription medicine is about maintaining this disassociation and also why a mass consciousness of a culture will try to impose itself on others and even outlaw other states of consciousness.

The result of the organ kundabuffer is that we need to learn to "stay with our pain" and work through what is there, rather than take some addictive substance to neutralize our pain. A certain amount of pain relief is acceptable if we are so locked into the pain that it feels unbearable and we are not making progress through it. But when it is used to block the pain and let us ignore it, then the whole psychopathology of the residual organ kundabuffer (ROK) continues to play out.

I feel that the residual organ kundabuffer is not identical with the personal ego that we are meant to the transcend, though the two are somewhat fused together at this point in time. Before Gurdjieff taught what he did, every religion had some version of ego reduction work. He wanted to add, not merely a different perspective, but to point out something that has infected our ego state and made new challenges to ego transcendance. The older methods may not be enough anymore because of this. They can work up to a point, but the ROK makes the process more complex.

However, the black yogis from the Drukpa clan never perform the contact of the solar and lunar atoms inside the organism; they always do it outside the organism.

These black yogis (Asura Sambhava) commit the crime of ejaculating the semen (Shuhra) during the Maithuna. They do this in order to mix their semen with feminine Raja. Thus, this is how they achieve the contact of the solar and lunar atoms within the same woman’s yoni.

Undoubtedly, the most difficult for these Red Hat Bons and Drukpas is the reabsorbing of the seminal liquid after having ejaculated it.

A certain terribly malignant psychic type of force exists in this reabsorbing process.

Incorrectly applied, the Vajroli Mudra (in combination with their mental force) allows these Red Hat Bons and Drukpas to absorb their spilled seminal liquor through their urethra.

During ordinary sexual contact, the intellectual animal spills millions of Solar atoms of very high voltage. These are immediately replaced by billions of Satanic atoms from the secret enemy, and these are collected from within the atomic infernos of the human being by means of the process of contraction (orgasm) of the sexual organs after the coitus.

When the semen is not spilled, then the Solar atoms return inward and upward through Ida and Pingala. Then the Solar atoms extraordinarily multiply in quantity and quality.

When these types of abnormal Satanic atoms intend to rise up to the Golgotha of the Father (the brain), they violently are cast down against the coccyx by the three Akashic breaths that work in Ida, Pingala, and Shushumna.

These types of seminal malignant atoms are precipitated through Ida and Pingala. Within any ordinary person, the igneous serpent of our magical powers remains enclosed within the coccygeal center; it is coiled up in a marvelous way three and a half times.

We convert ourselves into Angels when the serpent rises through the medullar canal. However, we convert ourselves into terribly malignant lunar demons when the serpent descends, when the serpent precipitates from the coccyx downwards into the atomic infernos of the human being.

The rising serpent is the Kundalini. The falling serpent is the abominable Kundabuffer Organ.

When the serpent is rising throughout the medullar canal, it is the bronze serpent that healed the Israelites in the wilderness. Yet, the falling serpent is the tempting serpent of Eden, the terrible serpent Python with seven heads that was writhing in the mud of the earth and that Apollo furiously hurt with his darts.

The abominable Kundabuffer Organ confers onto the Black Tantric magicians terribly malignant psychic powers (siddhis).

The abominable Kundabuffer Organ can never open the seven apocalyptic churches of the book of Revelation (which are the seven vital centers of the dorsal spine), because it can never succeed in rising through the medullar canal.

However, the abominable Kundabuffer Organ can place the antitheses of the seven churches into activity. The antitheses are seven malignant centers or seven tenebrous chakras of the lower abdomen.

Muslims affirm that the Inferno has seven gates, and that these exist in the lower abdomen. The abominable Kundabuffer Organ has the power of opening those seven gates.

To develop the abominable Kundabuffer Organ and to place into activity the seven infernal chakras of the lower abdomen is in fact equivalent to converting ourselves into that filthy beast with seven heads and ten horns upon which is seated the great Harlot (humanity), whose number is 666.

Those who commit the crime of developing the abominable Kundabuffer Organ divorce themselves from their immortal spiritual triad “Atman-Buddhi-Manas” and sink forever into the Infernal Worlds.

Kundalini is a compound word: Kunda reminds us of the abominable Kundabuffer Organ, and lini is indeed an Atlantean word which signifies “ended.”

Therefore, the Pentecostal Fire rising through the medullar canal signifies that the abominable Kundabuffer Organ comes to an end.

The fire of the Holy Spirit ascending throughout the medullar canal opens the church of Ephesus (coccygeal chakra), opens the church of Smyrna (prostatic or uterine chakra), opens the church of Pergamus (umbilical chakra), opens the church of Thyatira (chakra of the heart), opens the church of Sardis (laryngeal chakra), opens the church of Philadelphia (frontal chakra), opens the church of Laodicea (lotus of one thousand petals), and the abominable Kundabuffer Organ comes to an end.

In fact, the damned serpent, the Luciferic fire, the tail of Satan, opens the seven antithetic infernal churches of the lower abdomen.

The ascending fire confers onto the Innermost, the Spirit, powers over Prithvi, the element earth, in the church of Ephesus. It confers powers over Apas, the water, in the church of Smyrna. It confers power over Tejas, the fire, in the church of Pergamus. It confers power over Vayu, the air, in the church of Thyatira. It confers power over Akash, the ether, in the church of Sardis. In the Western World, the left-hand adepts have established many schools of Black Tantra. Such tenebrous organizations display sublime titles.

We know the case of a certain great initiate who founded a school of White Tantra before disincarnating; unfortunately, he committed the mistake of leaving his son (an inexperienced young man) as General Director. Thus, this naïve youngster (without any true esoteric experience) soon allowed himself to be cheated by certain Black Tantric adepts and concluded by publicly teaching Black Tantra.

The outcome of all of this was frightful, because some members of this brotherhood, also inexperienced, accepted the Black Tantric teachings and ended up converting themselves into terribly malignant demons.

Sex is a stone of stumbling, and a rock of falling; sex is a chief cornerstone, elect, precious.

We must never forget the words of Peter, the Master of Maithuna. Peter warned us against the false prophets and false masters (who in disguise and with sublime and ineffable false appearances) introduce many destructive heresies, much Black Tantra, and pernicious practices.

Beloved Gnostic brothers and sisters, follow the straight path, the path of perfect chastity, the path of absolute sanctity, and great sacrifice for our fellowmen.

The piece on Gurdjieff has many useful points. However, the use of a racial classification, in this case "Aryan", has been used by white supremacists, was a popular theme around the end of the nineteenth century. "Arya" which means noble in Sanskrit, has been corrupted to an entirely different use by hate groups.

What is interesting is how certain biochemical shocks seem to result in people having "out of the body experiences" (OOBEs). It seems that one new way of shifting people beyond the residual biochemical substrate of the organ kundabuffer is the use of "brainwave synchronizers". This approach uses what is called the "frequency following effect" (FFE) to shift our brainwaves to specific frequencies and to more coherent signal patterns. When a person is hooked up to a brainwave monitor and the EEG (a reading of the brain's electrical activity) is read, our brainwaves are normally fairly chaotic but tend to cluster around a certain dominant frequency range. When certain Zen Masters were studied, they were seen, after ten years of meditation, to have formed a rhythmic theta pattern. This pattern could be induced by a synchronizer in about five minutes. Although there is more to meditation that forming a rhythmic theta pattern, the acceleration of ten years to five minutes is still impressive. It does seem that brainwave synchronizers help people to learn to meditate more rapidly. It helps clear a kind of background static more rapidly by far than if we tried to do this without its assistance. Part of our attraction to music has to do with the embedded FFE, especially in the formation of chords and harmonic fifths. My belief is that they help to dissolve the biochemical substrate of the organ kundabuffer through reinforcing a coherent electromagnetic field within the brain that is used as a template to rebuild our biochemical level. The result is that some part of our being is able to leave the restriction of the physical body and roam the cosmos. There is an FFE pattern called "mind awake, body asleep" that seems especially useful to attain this inner degree of freedom. It seems to be very helpful for doing Tibetan bardo work and to enhance the power of the archetypal visualizations. Unlike the use of hallucinogens, there are no negative biochemical side effects. It works by going one level below biochemistry entirely to the organizing electromagnetic frequencies that shape our biochemical pathways and puts them into "coherence", a more organized and natural state, so that they can reshape the biochemical patterns of our body. This requires that we have a good diet to support this process and that we move through the "kriyas" (cleansing effects) as our bodies purge the kundabuffer toxins.

 

It seems in our natural physically immortal state that we have the ability to leave our usual physical bodies. This has created a curious thing in my own life process, because I feel that I have two "physical" bodies. One seems to be growing out of the other one. The more that I care for my usual outer physical body, the more an etheric analogue physical body is formed inside. It seems that this happened to both Aurobindo and to Guatama Buddha. Aurobindo called this second body a "supermental body" and Buddha called it the "mind made body". This body seems free of the usual karma patterns that form our first physical body. Our regular physical body is formed by a conjunction between our personal karma, our mother's karma, and our father's karma, and through this triadic union we join the collective karma of humankind. This passing on process is how we inherit the residual organ kundabuffer. This is a subtle point. Some of our karma comes from the outside or from what Buddha called "the interdependence of the inside and outside". This explains why our past lifetimes are similar to our present lifetime and also how they can also be very different. The mixture gives us certain new advantages and disadvantages. There is a quantum level "like attracts like" that makes the new karmaic patterns fit a larger sense of what karma is about. Because the second physical body is "created from meditation" it is like the pure lands of the Buddhas. It is free from the karmas of sorrow. It grows within us and begins to take on a life of its own. It seems that this second body eventually overshadows and absorbs the old physical body into itself or that we shed our present physical body and add what Gurdjieff called a "planetary coating" upon it. In any case, this second physical body eventually is able to function as a coherent body completely independently of the first one. Both Guatama and Aurobindo eventually released their first physical body and formed a new physical body. But both of them did talk about physical immortality, about ending aging and death in their first physical body. Guatama Buddha did not do so very much, because part of his mission was to teach "noble death", but he did indirectly teach about these things in some passages in the sutras. Babaji seems to have absorbed his first physical body into his second one so that the first physical body is "taken up". This seems to be the more natural of the two possible processes, but given that the conditions of this planet are not always fully supportive of this process, the second one is a failsafe.

 

Because of the "buffer" effect, we are usually unconscious of our emotional patterns. In this disassociated state, some external shock, some event, is needed to trigger or activate our experience of sorrow. When this happens, we usually want to sedate our pain and stimulate our pleasure with some chemical addiction, overeating food, or some sensory overwhelm in the form of movies with intense experiences being represented. In short, we want to rebuild this buffer. The formation of our usual subconscious mind is therefore part of the Organ Kundabuffer effect. It is perhaps the one most clearly connected with the experience, since it explains how we may have survived the early planetary catastrophe that necessitated its formation. But like the story of Noah in the Old Testament, which seems to represent this event, there were side effects. Noah gets drunk on something and then makes one of his sons and his progeny into a slave. Racial prejudice, slavery, addictions, and projection of repressed issues on to others all flow from this formation. We actually try to maintain this disassociated state as "sanity", rather than learn to integrate our emotional patterns. We need to learn how to stay "emotionally connected" instead. One problem is that a lot of prescription medicine is about maintaining this disassociation and also why a mass consciousness of a culture will try to impose itself on others and even outlaw other states of consciousness.

 

The result of the organ kundabuffer is that we need to learn to "stay with our pain" and work through what is there, rather than take some addictive substance to neutralize our pain. A certain amount of pain relief is acceptable if we are so locked into the pain that it feels unbearable and we are not making progress through it. But when it is used to block the pain and let us ignore it, then the whole psychopathology of the residual organ kundabuffer (ROK) continues to play out.

 

I feel that the residual organ kundabuffer is not identical with the personal ego that we are meant to the transcend, though the two are somewhat fused together at this point in time. Before Gurdjieff taught what he did, every religion had some version of ego reduction work. He wanted to add, not merely a different perspective, but to point out something that has infected our ego state and made new challenges to ego transcendance. The older methods may not be enough anymore because of this. They can work up to a point, but the ROK makes the process more complex.

These black yogis (Asura Sambhava) commit the crime of ejaculating the semen (Shuhra) during the Maithuna. They do this in order to mix their semen with feminine Raja. Thus, this is how they achieve the contact of the solar and lunar atoms within the same woman’s yoni.

Undoubtedly, the most difficult for these Red Hat Bons and Drukpas is the reabsorbing of the seminal liquid after having ejaculated it.

A certain terribly malignant psychic type of force exists in this reabsorbing process.

Incorrectly applied, the Vajroli Mudra (in combination with their mental force) allows these Red Hat Bons and Drukpas to absorb their spilled seminal liquor through their urethra.

During ordinary sexual contact, the intellectual animal spills millions of Solar atoms of very high voltage. These are immediately replaced by billions of Satanic atoms from the secret enemy, and these are collected from within the atomic infernos of the human being by means of the process of contraction (orgasm) of the sexual organs after the coitus.

When the semen is not spilled, then the Solar atoms return inward and upward through Ida and Pingala. Then the Solar atoms extraordinarily multiply in quantity and quality.

However, the spilled semen (which the Black Tantrikas reabsorb through their urethra by extracting it from within the vagina) has in fact already converted itself into a frightful accumulator of Satanic atoms.

When these types of abnormal Satanic atoms intend to rise up to the Golgotha of the Father (the brain), they violently are cast down against the coccyx by the three Akashic breaths that work in Ida, Pingala, and Shushumna.

These types of seminal malignant atoms are precipitated through Ida and Pingala. They violently struggle in order to reach the brain; however, all of their efforts are useless because the three Akashic breaths cast them down against that region of the coccyx where a malignant atom has its habitat, and also the power to place the abominable Kundabuffer Organ into activity.

Within any ordinary person, the igneous serpent of our magical powers remains enclosed within the coccygeal center; it is coiled up in a marvelous way three and a half times.

We convert ourselves into Angels when the serpent rises through the medullar canal. However, we convert ourselves into terribly malignant lunar demons when the serpent descends, when the serpent precipitates from the coccyx downwards into the atomic infernos of the human being.

The rising serpent is the Kundalini. The falling serpent is the abominable Kundabuffer Organ.

When the serpent is rising throughout the medullar canal, it is the bronze serpent that healed the Israelites in the wilderness. Yet, the falling serpent is the tempting serpent of Eden, the terrible serpent Python with seven heads that was writhing in the mud of the earth and that Apollo furiously hurt with his darts.

The abominable Kundabuffer Organ confers onto the Black Tantric magicians terribly malignant psychic powers (siddhis).

The abominable Kundabuffer Organ can never open the seven apocalyptic churches of the book of Revelation (which are the seven vital centers of the dorsal spine), because it can never succeed in rising through the medullar canal.

However, the abominable Kundabuffer Organ can place the antitheses of the seven churches into activity. The antitheses are seven malignant centers or seven tenebrous chakras of the lower abdomen.

Muslims affirm that the Inferno has seven gates, and that these exist in the lower abdomen. The abominable Kundabuffer Organ has the power of opening those seven gates.

To develop the abominable Kundabuffer Organ and to place into activity the seven infernal chakras of the lower abdomen is in fact equivalent to converting ourselves into that filthy beast with seven heads and ten horns upon which is seated the great Harlot (humanity), whose number is 666.

Those who commit the crime of developing the abominable Kundabuffer Organ divorce themselves from their immortal spiritual triad “Atman-Buddhi-Manas” and sink forever into the Infernal Worlds.

Therefore, the Pentecostal Fire rising through the medullar canal signifies that the abominable Kundabuffer Organ comes to an end.

The fire of the Holy Spirit ascending throughout the medullar canal opens the church of Ephesus (coccygeal chakra), opens the church of Smyrna (prostatic or uterine chakra), opens the church of Pergamus (umbilical chakra), opens the church of Thyatira (chakra of the heart), opens the church of Sardis (laryngeal chakra), opens the church of Philadelphia (frontal chakra), opens the church of Laodicea (lotus of one thousand petals), and the abominable Kundabuffer Organ comes to an end.

In fact, the damned serpent, the Luciferic fire, the tail of Satan, opens the seven antithetic infernal churches of the lower abdomen.

The ascending fire confers onto the Innermost, the Spirit, powers over Prithvi, the element earth, in the church of Ephesus. It confers powers over Apas, the water, in the church of Smyrna. It confers power over Tejas, the fire, in the church of Pergamus. It confers power over Vayu, the air, in the church of Thyatira. It confers power over Akash, the ether, in the church of Sardis. In the Western World, the left-hand adepts have established many schools of Black Tantra. Such tenebrous organizations display sublime titles.

We know the case of a certain great initiate who founded a school of White Tantra before disincarnating; unfortunately, he committed the mistake of leaving his son (an inexperienced young man) as General Director. Thus, this naïve youngster (without any true esoteric experience) soon allowed himself to be cheated by certain Black Tantric adepts and concluded by publicly teaching Black Tantra.

The outcome of all of this was frightful, because some members of this brotherhood, also inexperienced, accepted the Black Tantric teachings and ended up converting themselves into terribly malignant demons.

Sex is a stone of stumbling, and a rock of falling; sex is a chief cornerstone, elect, precious.

We must never forget the words of Peter, the Master of Maithuna. Peter warned us against the false prophets and false masters (who in disguise and with sublime and ineffable false appearances) introduce many destructive heresies, much Black Tantra, and pernicious practices.

From reading up on that Aun Weor guy quickly, seems like he probably had some good techniques and methods and personal abilities from extensive study of world traditions but had a bad case of dogma and treating the map as the territory and seeing himself as a prophet.

I think Samael Aun Weor has taken the term Kundabuffer out of its intended context and added his own definitions to it, which probably isn't helpful. Essentially when Gurdjieff talks about Kundabuffer he is talking about ego but he knows that the word ego means different things to different people, the way Freud talks it about it is different from Buddhists for example, and there are all sorts of associations people make with that word, so to try to get people to think freely and approach his ideas from beginners mind he decided in his writings to make up his own words for those terms which are already too loaded. So I would recommend approaching the idea of Kundabuffer on Gurdjieff's terms without any concepts added to it by Samael Aun Weor.

This topic is a mine-field... and unfortunately not enough people asked Gurdjieff the right (fucking) questions when he was still around. Suffice to say, some information can be pieced together from 'Beezlebub' and also 'In Search of..'. BTW, this Samael character is quite deluded, imo.

 

Osho speculated that Gurdjieff was trying to directly subvert the Theosophical groups, who were the biggest proponents of this term in his time period - which was many decades before the upanishads and other yogic literature was widely available in the western world in its original form. In other words, he claimed Gurdjieff's definition of kundalini was a re-definition of what theosophists referred to as "kundalini" - instead of being a definition of the historical concept itself.

 

Here is what Gurdjieff himself once said during a lecture, and as you can see he does refer specifically to "occult" literature rather than the sutras themselves, and also clarifies this term is not referring to sex energy... many years later he would write about the "kundabuffer" apparatus:

"In so-called 'occult' literature you have probably met with the expression 'Kundalini,' 'the fire of Kundalini,' or the 'serpent of Kundalini.' This expression is often used to designate some kind of strange force which is present in man and which can be awakened. But none of the known theories gives the right explanation of the force of Kundalini. Sometimes it is connected with sex, with sex energy, that is with the idea of the possibility of using sex energy for other purposes. This latter is entirely wrong because Kundalini can be in anything. And above all, Kundalini is not anything desirable or useful for man's development. It is very curious how these occultists have got hold of the word from somewhere but have completely altered its meaning and from a very dangerous and terrible thing have made something to be hoped for and to be awaited as some blessing.

 

"In reality Kundalini is the power of imagination, the power of fantasy, which takes the place of a real function. When a man dreams instead of acting, when his dreams take the place of reality, when a man imagines himself to be an eagle, a lion, or a magician, it is the force of Kundalini acting in him. Kundalini can act in all centers and with its help all the centers can be satisfied with the imaginary instead of the real. A sheep which considers itself a lion or a magician lives under the power of Kundalini.

 

"Kundalini is a force put into men in order to keep them in their present state. If men could really see their true position and could understand all the horror of it, they would be unable to remain where they are even for one second. They would begin to seek a way out and they would quickly find it, because there is a way out; but men fail to see it simply because they are hypnotized. Kundalini is the force that keeps them in a hypnotic state. 'To awaken' for man means to be 'dehypnotized.' In this lies the chief difficulty and in this also lies the guarantee of its possibility, for there is no organic reason for sleep and man can awaken.

 

"Theoretically he can, but practically it is almost impossible because as soon as a man awakens for a moment and opens his eyes, all the forces that caused him to fall asleep begin to act upon him with tenfold energy and he immediately falls asleep again, very often dreaming that he is awake or is awakening.

 

"There are certain states in ordinary sleep in which a man wants to awaken but cannot. He tells himself that he is awake but, in reality, he continues to sleep—and this can happen several times before he finally awakes. But in ordinary sleep, once he is awake, he is in a different state; in hypnotic sleep the case is otherwise; there are no objective characteristics, at any rate not at the beginning of awakening; a man cannot pinch himself in order to make sure that he is not asleep. And if, which God forbid, a man has heard anything about objective characteristics, Kundalini at once transforms it all into imagination and dreams.

Gurdjieff definitely had a go with the Theosophists - and by the way - they have a wonderful and healthy and completely free wealth of information - free to download on all sorts of topics at Project Gutenberg.

 

Gurdjieff was a teacher who left little of his teaching but for some great gems by a few of his students and the tonal work of his dances, music and book.

Belezebubs Tales to his Grandson is wonderful but not for content but rather for holding certain notes (vibrations) for intolerably long times and thus creating the desired results - exactly as designed.

 

The remaining Gurdjieff schools are in shambles - though quit nice - but so insular you could choke.

 

Personally if I were to guess the location of kundabuffer it would be above the head - but I don't think he was actually talking about something real.

The issue of the remaining Gurdjieff "schools", which have not retained the actual spark (and flame) of inspiration and initiation, would be a matter for another discussion. Suffice to say that they are chained to sparse forms of disconnected practices, to which the importance they attribute has been blown far, far out of proportion - much like their own egos and ideas of themselves. For example, virtually nothing has been passed on from the all-lesbian group that Gurdjieff assembled known as "The Rope" - who supposedly received the most "advanced" practices.

 

Personally if I were to guess the location of kundabuffer it would be above the head - but I don't think he was actually talking about something real.

 

In terms of his own descriptions, there is no need to guess.

 

Let us continue:

 

"You know that by this time what is called 'mechanical instinct' had gradually been engendered in them, as is normal in three-brained beings.

 

"The sacred members of the Most High Commission then reasoned that if this mechanical instinct in the biped three-brained beings of that planet were to develop toward the attainment of Objective Reason, as usually occurs everywhere among three-brained beings, it might possibly happen that they would prematurely comprehend the reason for their presence on that planet and would then make a good deal of trouble; it might happen that once they understood the reason for their arising, namely, that by their existence they should maintain the detached fragments of their planet, and became convinced of their slavery to circumstances utterly foreign to them, they would refuse to continue this existence of theirs and on principle destroy themselves.

 

"So, my boy, in view of this, the Most High Commission decided, among other things, to implant provisionally in the common presence of the three-brained beings there a special organ with properties that, first, would make them perceive reality 'upside down' and, second, would cause every repeated impression from the outside to crystallize in them data that engender factors for evoking sensations of 'pleasure' and 'enjoyment.'

 

"Then, with the help of the Universal Arch-Chemist-Physicist, the Angel Looisos, a member of this Most High Commission, they made a 'something' grow in the three-brained beings there, in a special way at the base of their spinal column at the root of their tail—for at that time they still had a tail, and that part of their common presence still kept its normal aspect, expressing the 'fullness of their being-significance'—a 'something' that fostered the arising in them of the properties I just mentioned.

 

"And this 'something' they then for the first time called the 'organ kundabuffer'.

 

There are many further references which continue to illustrate the idea of the "kundabuffer" in the context of this story and self-cultivation practices in general. In particular, this is one of the most key points:

 

The chief difficulty in the way of liberation from complete slavery is that we must, with an intention coming from our own initiative and a persistence sustained by our own efforts—that is to say, not by another's will but by our own—succeed in eradicating from our presence both the already fixed consequences of certain properties of that "something" in our forefathers called the "organ kundabuffer," as well as the predisposition to those consequences which may again arise.

 

To give you at least an approximate understanding of this strange organ and its properties, and also of the manifestations in ourselves of the consequences of these properties, we must dwell a little longer upon this question and speak about it in somewhat greater detail.

 

Great Nature, in her foresight, for many important reasons—about which theoretical explanations will be given in later lectures—was constrained to place within the common presence of our remote ancestors a special organ, through whose properties they might be protected from the possibility of seeing and feeling reality.

 

Although this organ was later removed by Great Nature from their common presence, yet owing to the cosmic law of "the assimilation of the results of oft-repeated acts"— according to which, from the frequent repetition of the same act there appears in every cosmic concentration, under certain conditions, a tendency to reproduce similar results— the predisposition formed in our ancestors was transmitted by heredity from generation to generation, so that when their descendants established many conditions in the process of their ordinary existence that proved to be favorable for its law-conformable manifestation, the consequences of the various properties of this organ began to arise in them and, passing by heredity from generation to generation, were gradually assimilated and ultimately engendered almost the same manifestations as in their ancestors.

 

To understand at least approximately how these consequences manifest themselves in us, let us consider a further fact that is perfectly intelligible to our Reason and beyond any doubt whatever.

 

All men are mortal and each of us may die at any moment. Now the question arises can a man really picture to himself, and so to say "experience" in his consciousness, the process of his own death?

 

No! His own death and the experiencing of this process, a man, however he may wish, can never picture to himself. An ordinary contemporary man can picture to himself the death of another, though even this not fully. He can picture to himself, for instance, a certain Mr Smith leaving the theater and, on crossing the street, being run over by an automobile and crushed to death. Or a signboard blown down by the wind falls on the head of Mr Jones, who happens to be passing, and kills him on the spot. Or Mr Brown, who has eaten spoiled crayfish, gets poisoned and, since no one is able to save him, dies the next day.

 

Anyone can easily picture all these. But can the ordinary man contemplate for himself the same possibility as he admits for Mr Smith, Mr Jones, and Mr Brown, and really feel and live through all the despair of facing such an eventuality for himself?

 

Think what would be the state of a man who could clearly picture to himself and experience the inevitability of his own death!

 

If he seriously ponders and succeeds in entering deeply into this so as really to cognize his own death, what could be more terrifying?

 

In ordinary life, over and above the terrible fact of the inevitability of our own death, there are many other things, particularly in recent times, which, if we would even imagine having to live through them, would evoke in us feelings of inexpressible and intolerable anguish.

 

Suppose that those contemporary people who have already entirely lost all possibility of having any real objective hope for the future, that is to say, those who have never "sown" anything during their responsible life and therefore have nothing to "reap" in the future, suppose that one day they should become aware of the inevitability of their imminent death—from the thought alone they would hang themselves.

 

As a result of the specific action of the consequences of the properties of the organ kundabuffer on their common psyche, most contemporary people— those three-brained beings in whom were placed the hopes of our Creator as possible servers of higher purposes—are prevented from knowing any of these genuine terrors.

 

And thus they are able calmly to carry on their existence in unconscious fulfillment of what was foreordained, but in the service only of Nature's most immediate aims, since on account of their unbecoming, abnormal life they have lost any possibility of serving higher purposes.

 

Owing to these consequences, not only does the recognition of such terrors fail to arise in the psyche of contemporary people, but to calm themselves they even invent all kinds of fantastic explanations, which are plausible solely to their naive logic, for what they really sense and also for what they do not sense at all.
