I received a death threat.

I'd trust in my instincts and logic.

The same Tao flows in you and the individual threatening you.

Sometimes it's appropriate to be the calm pool and be serene.

Sometimes you must be the torrential flood and wash the problem away.

Only you can know which, in my opinion.

I wish you the best.

...

Serenity's good but don't neglect to take any precautions you think might be prudent.

It sounds like a dreadful situation.

I hope and pray it resolves itself soon.

I do as well. I mean threats are threats because they aren't performing the action.

If they were gonna do it, they wouldn't talk about it.

The tao flows through us all. I am good and they are bad. Yin, yang.

Have you reported the threats to law enforcement? After all, the police are part of the Tao.

@silentthunder

True. But I feel any good actions I've dome thoroughout my life should grant me some serenity, no?

Absolutely, I feel and think serenity should reign all life.

But in the face of such a threat, my only serenity would come from resolution.

Sometimes the conditions of life, which are magnitudes of power beyond us, will dictate the situation.

Take appropriate action in a storm.

Can I trust In tao to keep me safe? I know we don't know what tao is exactly but I have read that the tao flows through us all.

Can I trust in tao?

The Tao is all and everything with no exceptions. Think about it.

Law enforcement was notified. They did nearly nothing.

The force that flows through us all will be reprimanded.

You reap what you sew.

I did as I was told and have done nearly nothing wrong. The tao will grant me peace.

Good point. The Tao has protected your ass yet again!

You are anthropomorphizing the Tao. Why would the Tao play favorites?

He didn't do that at all. Tao is unexplainable. Simple.

I put faith that it will guide myself and others to safety. Whether it be a god, force, or a supreme illusion.

"God will not shoo flies from a tailless cow" -- African proverb

Neither will tao. Protect yourself. Think of people and organizations you can ask for help, think of what you can/should do yourself.

Tao gave the cow the tail, she gave you your human mind. Use it. Tao gave you the tools to manage, but she won't micromanage. Using the tools -- all tools of protection at your disposal -- that's what "going with the flow" means. Good luck.

I stand by what I stated. He was anthropomorphizing the Tao. Or, reducing the Tao to an anthropocentric concept.

Tao treats all as straw dogs.

Sun shines on the good and evil alike.

Rain falls on all.

Be prudent, but I like your expression of inner strength.

Only you know your center.

Dao is pretty impartial in these matters. Coldly impartial, in fact.
