A question of health

Hey everyone. I apologize if there is a better sub forum for this topic. I didn't see a health section. I apreciate any and all advice anyone can give me and I will try to return the favor.

 

I will start by saying that I am 25 and i eat a healthy diet. I have been eating a lot of organic eggs lately, maybe too much. Nonetheless, I have been an extremely healthy eater for the past several years.

 

I eat a good amount of nuts, seeds, fruit and vegetables. I am a vegetarian and just recently started to eat eggs.

 

I do some meditation and some gi gong, but not as much as I would like. I work at a job that I do not believe in and takes time away from artistic projects. It involves a lot of standing and biting my tongue. I feel like this exasurbates my problem to a degree on some level.

 

The problem is that my left testicle twists sometimes and causes discomfort. It also raises higher a little easier than the right one. If I cough, the left one goes up a tad higher.

 

The discomfort is slight. But I worry that this takes away from my energy/testosterone. When this occurs, I find myself lower in energy. I don't know if it is the direct physiological effect of the problem or if it is the fact that I am focused on it and worrying about it.

 

I recently went on vacation to a wonderful spot in colorado between Denver and boulder. The people were so great, the energy was so positive and driven. It lifted me high. This problem was hardly apparent there. Really only the first two days.

 

This problem is accompanied by a strange feeling in my left hip/lower abdomen area as well as a little bit under my left rib at times. I also feel a similar feeling in my lower back.

 

My family doctor has said it is a nerve issue with a nerve in my back. First occasion, he said it was sciatica, the second time, he said it was a different nerve. He prescribed me anti-imflammatory medication. I did not get it because I don't like ingesting synthetic medication and I worry that that would just treat the symptoms and not the cause. I don't know if it would actually help heal me.

 

It seems that qigong helps, but I have yet to have a qigong session over 15 minutes.

 

This is something that is apparent in my life and I would love to get over. It makes me feel less powerful at times. I made another Drs appointment for Monday morning. My last one was several months back.

 

Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

 

 

Edit: I must add, I have been retaining now for just under 30 days. I don't think I have been moving the energy as well as I should and would really love to know the best way. I have been doing standing qi gong via the "stand still be fit" videos on youtube. I thought that I would be reaping the benefits of such a stint without releasing, but I have only on a few occasions.

 

Second edit: although I eat healthy, I tend to put a little too much focus on food at times. Also, I over eat on occasions ( I regularly have 4 egg omelets and have even had a few 7 egg omelets). If I have some nuts, I tend to eat more than I probably should. With this being said, this problem seems worse when my stomach is full. After I digest it all and get rid of it, it tends to not bother me as much. I don't want to influence anyone's help or advice, but my intuition tells me hat I focus too much on that area with too much focus on sex and eating. But, why would this cause such a feeling that extends from my lower left rib, around to my back and down to the back of my left leg (upper hamstring below left buttock)?

Some more notes: my vans deferens is swollen on the left side as well.

 

 

Also, I have been lifting to gain strength. It has come to my attention that I should stop in order to aid th healing process. Sometimes, lifting does not bother this problem. Other times, I can feel the discomfort. Oddly, on occasion it fixes the problem.

 

 

One me note: I smoked marijuana a few months back (never in excess) with my girlfriend and I could feel energy moving up and down my left leg and lower back, causing a pattern of movements in the lower left side of my body. This was very apparent. This happened when I would stand on only my left leg. This occurs sometimes when not in that state, but it is extremely apparent when in that state. To me, this screamed "energy blockage." It was as if thee was a blockage in the left side of my pelvis and the energy was getting shot back down to my leg. Kind of like a game of ping pong only the ping pong ball is energy.

 

 

I use marijuana rarely, very rarely ( under 20 times in my life, last time was about a month ago, time before that was several months). It has heightened this problem at times and it has soothed it. If the problem wasn't apparent at the time, marijuana would have no effect. When I use/have used it, I take a couple puffs, I never use excess in the practice.

See an acupuncturist about the left lower abdomen/rib/lower back issue...it could be related to the large intestine/colon, and they would give you natural herbs and treatment to balance that out (if it's the case). For self care of the entire abdomen over the long term, you could get the book "unwinding the belly". It's a good practice based off of Chi Nei Tsang...it will slowly work at the root of all health issues (which is at the navel area).


If I were you, I would have taken the anti-inflammatory...but it's always your choice and your reasoning is understandable.

 

For your testicle issue, it might be related to the abdomen issue...but I would be seeing specialists and western doctors about that.

If you want, go see a physical therapist who is skilled in muscle energy technique to ensure that your pelvis is all aligned. That might be contributing to the issue. Also look into "visceral manipulation" and see if anyone nearby you practices that.

You might be eating too many eggs...pay attention to your symptoms. Try to look for other foods you could be eating instead.

About the marijuana experience, I don't actually know and this is just an educated guess...but it could be that smoking it caused a drain on your kidneys and that's what you were feeling. Best not to smoke it.

The best way to transform energy during celibacy is to meditate. Another good way is breathing. If you're doing retention such as masturbation without ejaculation, stop doing that...it's very unhealthy and isn't useful in any way.

I am unsure if the prescribed medication would help heal it or if it would be a temporary fix.

 

I might take them this time around.

 

I am not masturbating or looking at any pornography. The only sexual activity I have had has been with my girlfriend and that was without ejaculation. That definitely was energizing for both of us and is something I frequently practice, although not much in the past month due to various reasons.

 

I have read on here numerous times about using exercises that burn your sexual energy and ionize it into chi. What are these exercises? Does one just visualize this during meditation or qi gong?

Sexual spirituality should be something you learn from a qualified teacher. There are many conflicting opinions about what's right. I would recommend just having normal sex (ejaculation) with a lot of foreplay. It's my understanding that once you're sexually stimulated, and you've actually been having sex, it's very unhealthy to stop and keep the semen. It's my experience that it's useless for spiritual and health purposes, in comparison to having longer time periods of pure celibacy where you don't even think about sex. But yeah...good to find a qualified teacher to get the best advice on the subject.

 

About the 'ionization'...any spiritual practice does this. Breathing, empty mind meditation, inner smile and laughter, certain postures or mudras, contemplating virtues, etc. It just happens naturally, and eventually you are able to experience this happening within (feel the unaroused rising of the generative force). Just practice.

There are so many practices to choose from. I guess I cannot go wrong picking any of them.

I cannot currently sit in lotus, though. I want to. I struggle sitting in " Indian style" because it is hard on my right ankle that I had surgery on as a pup.

The build-up of sexual tension is not good for you, as turtle shell said. Have sex and enjoy it. If you go all the way fine. If naturally you don't, that's also fine. Forcing things one way or the other is not healthy.

He prescribed me librox(?[he has bad hand writing]).

 

He wants me to take this before bed and see him again in two weeks.

 

Part of me, a big part, sees pharmaceuticals as poison. Should I do this?

 

 

Sometimes the dualities in this world frustrate me.... Like right about now.
