Belarusian politics

Recommended Posts

Since everyone is talking about politics so much then I will, too

While still under communist rule, there was founded Belarusian People's Republic(BNR) during the first world waaaaaaaaar, in 1918 or so

It was independently founded and so they went to Lenin to ask to make Belarus independent, he declined

Instead there was created a super communist Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic and BNR was exiled in 1920

Later during the second world war the flags were used by the German occupants while trying to create their own government, that didn't last long

After WW2 Stalin saw Belarus as a place that could be easily influenced by the west and so he sent a lot of resourced into rebuilding it and Belarus recovered to how it was before the war

But since it was also an important political place with a lot of important people in it, there were a lot of assassinations and killings in it by the government

In 1991 Belarus became independent and in 1994 there was elected the first president

He kept being reelected and that started a protest in 2010 when he won again while everyone still hated him

They say BNR is the oldest government in exile because it still exists, BNR flags are used in protests against the current Belarusian president who became a dictator

In a way all politicians are dictators. Some worse than others but it's only a matter of degree. I work on the idea that if one totally ignores them, whilst they don't actually go away; it's the next best thing.

This dude acts like Kim John Il, wherever he goes he makes his young son tag along as if showing how to run things.

He ignores wishes of his people and talking against his is a crime.

He used taxpayer's money to build a gigantic library that no one needed.
